Nokia :: OVI Suite And Care Support
Feb 17, 2010Today I called Nokia Support, because I could not download maps with map loader.The guy asked if the ovi suite is installed. I told him, that the Ovi suite keeps on crashing on start-up on my machine, and that all other software is running fine, e.g. the PC suite which I am using instead.
For a price of 14 Cent/Minutes this "Nokia-Care"-guy had the nuts telling me that probably my computer needs to be fixed. After telling him that my computer works fine with all other software, he finally told me that I need to call Microsoft, as it would be their fault that Ovi Suite is not running on my machine.
This is a poor joke called "Nokia-Care". Dear Nokia-people, that is no-support and no-care-at-all. Providing something that crashes for free, and charging money for providing rudeness on the phone.

Jun 24, 2010OVI suite can't update the support softare on my N97... it's says "unable to install support software". Any solutions? On the PC I already unistall all Nokia software, used PCSuite Cleaner and cleaned the registry and then reinstall OVI Suite.I don't wont to hard reset the phone, format drive E and reinstall all the software.

But when I try to do this, I get the msg "installer already in use" on my mobile. What should I do? And I also have another problem. I downloaded the application "Folder Hider" from Ovi, and it was installed in a folder "Mig Apps". I want to remove it, but it won't allow me. Why is that?

Aug 8, 2012Software update and the Ovi store recommended that I update to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on my N8 running Belle.I did so over the air from the Ovi store link. Installation didn't interact with me but phone eventually restarted. Maps wouldn't work i.e. selecting the shortcut or going into the menu and locating the Maps icon would not launch it and my wired headset WH-701 was no longer recognised when I inserted it. Checked installed apps - Maps not there.
Did a soft restart *#7780# and when the phone restarted had my headphones back BUT no maps Last night did the Ovi store link again from my broadband router this time with the phone in offline mode and wifi on. Installation was a lot more interactive giving progress on each app being installed. It did give a 'running out of memory on c: drive' error a couple of times (I had checked before the installation and had 25Mb). Phone restarted, maps was terrific, even showing locations of pics I'd taken with the phone and offering me public transport timetables in U.S. cities but ... headphones not recognized when inserted!

Nov 21, 2010I have recently bought Spiro and updated the software. Now I wanted to update the contacts from my old W200i to this one. Checked SYNC but Spiro doesn't come up in the list of the phones. Some forum digging made me realize that Spiro is also not compatible with PC Suite too. Will Spiro support PC Suite/Online Sync in the near future or SE? Except for some connector issues my W200i had worked brilliantly. I wanted Spiro to tide some time till I get an android from SE only. I have advocated SE to the point of being labeled a fanboy and now this. I am having serious doubt about SE's commitment towards its consumers.

Jun 18, 2010I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

Apr 15, 2010Have a N900. Got the phone to work against Smart Suite and later Ovis Suite very well for the first 3 weeks. Then the trouble started. I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this?? Hope for help without re-intsalling the machine.

Aug 23, 2011Yesterday I wanted to update my Nokia E63, I saw there was 2 ways of Updating, 1. Over The Air, but there was no clear definition on how to do that, So I want to the other option, Nokia Ovi PC Suite. The download kept failing but it kept resuming when I tried to download the update again. After the download finished Usually you do not need the internet to install something that you already downloaded (Should Always Be Like That!!) So I thought that and while the update was installing Nokia Ovi PC Suite said something about Cannot Connect To Service, Although My Internet was PERFECT! and I tried to turn on my E63 and it would just vibrate and then turn off. I tried reviving it by leaving the battery out for 5 mins ( I also left it out for 6 hours) And when you turn it on Hold the Green Button Call And the 3 and the *. But none of that works, I wanted to send my phone to Nokia Care through Post But you need the IMEI but How can I do that?

Now I have this problem with the Nokia Suite not upgrading firmware without the sim card.I use nokia now mostly as a GPS and a Wi-fi net browsing device, so I would like to get the new map version since the current one (v3.01 09wk44 b01) keeps crashing when synchronizing favs. I downloaded the .sis file from softpedia (v3.03 10wk11 b04) but get certificate errors when trying to install it. Does anybody know where can I get a signed map, latest version for nokia n95, with a fix for the sync crash? (It does get sync'ed but closes every time)

Nov 14, 2012i'm using a nokia n8 phone and i used to keep a copy of my photos and videos on my pc using nokia suite, i just clicked on the gallery sync. button and it was done.i recently bought a new memory card and i started downloading videos by the (Internet downloader) app. i have now like 7gb of videos on my memory card.the problem is that now every time i try to sync. the gallery, nokia suite makes a copy of all downloaded videos on my computer. is it possible to set nokia suite to sync. only the photos and the videos taken by the camera and ignore the downloaded videos?

Mar 28, 2010I have an E71 a year ago. I bought this phone because of their SIP support. But I just want to sell it and buy an E72 phone. II read too many complaints about this phone because it doesn't bring with native SIP support (some models, I want to buy mine via Amazon). I read in some posts (mainly this post) that the Net Settings brings up a bunch of VoIP servers. I have my own Asterisk server, my E71 works flawlessly with it and I don't need to use another provider such as Fring, Nimbuzz or Gizmo.
Do I need another SIP provider in E72? Or E72 can't just conect to a SIP server just like E71?

Jun 5, 2010I installed Ovi Suite and now I am unable to connect E52 to Ovi Suite via USB. I encounter two problems which both result in being unable to sync my data (establish connection).First option happens when I connect the device and select Connect via Ovi Suite. Ovi Suite says: Connect the device although the device is already connected.The other option happens after I connect the device. Ovi Suite recognizes the device, but then it says: "Setting up." which lasts forever and nothing happens - I am unable to establish the connection.
