BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: How To Uninstall Apps Not Listed In Desktop Manager
Feb 4, 2010Just having some problems uninstalling apps. I tried going through the aplication list on the phone and deleting from there, and even through desktop manager. Problem is, desktop manager doesn't list all the apps, and when tried it from there (ie; Beweather so I can get the upgrade), it just archives it!! How do I get rid of the archive....as fr as I know, the archive still takes up space in memory, and when I tried installing new versions of the software (ie; Beweather), it just loads the old version!! Geese this is annoying!! I would hate to wipe my phone and start from scratch again adjusting everything to how I like it.

PC suite installed on my laptop with windows 7. i was using the phone as a modem with PC internet access. nowadays i am unable to connect to the net. when i click on pc internet access, it opens the window asking me to press connect. when i press connect, within seconds it shows "no valid connections". what to do?

Apr 13, 2011I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling.My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location?If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals

Dec 20, 2011I've recently bought a Nokia 700 and for few days I'm experiencing this weird problem.Every single connection drops (3G, Wi-Fi and USB. Haven't tested NFC yet) at random times and I can't reconnect. It always says after that it can't connect and the connections are unavailable.After turning the phone off and then on again, everything is back to normal. I can normally connect to the 3G connection, Wi-Fi and USB.It's pretty annoying as I always have to restart my phone in order to connect via USB or to the Internet when it happens.Anyone else who is experiencing the same problem or has any solutions to this?

Nov 16, 2012I have a 920 that has given me fits since I got it a week ago. I have had this happen at several hotel, work and home locations.What happens is that at some point during the day, I want to connect to the Wi-Fi whereever I am at. So I turn on the screen, go into Settings/Wi-Fi and I am not able to connect to anything.The Wi-Fi option is turned ON but the toggle for it is grayed out and you cannot change it (to ON or OFF). Also, there is a progress bar scrolling across as it indicates "Searching". It will stay that way for HOURS if you wait that long.I also noticed that if I go to Bluetooth settings at this point, I cannot turn that On or Off either (although the toggle is not grayed out).The rest of the phone and app functions work normal at this point.The only way to get WiFi or BT working is to reboot the phone, then everything will work for a while and at some point in time, this will happen all over again.

Oct 4, 2010I'm trying to connect to my computer that runs Windows XP Service Pack 3. The computer recognizes the cell phone and installed drivers (contents are available through Explorer). But the PC Suite (v 7.1.51.0) doesn't show any available connections. The option for choosing cable, IR or bluetooth is greyed out. I tried running Nokia PC Suite Cleaner 7.1.1 and reinstalling PC Suite, but nothing changed.

Jan 15, 2012I could not get the Nokia 700 to connect using bluetooth DUN, to a laptop running WinXP.Really weird since this has been working for me for years with every other phone.I am using web/web which is the usual pair, but this is contract internet, not PAYG...The connection goes through the login/pwd bit OK and then fails when it says registering your computer on the network', with Error 734, terminated.Googling suggests things like disabling the multilink option but it doesn't help.I can get a connection using Joikuspot, so maybe this is a good time to drop the bluetooth But, after a lot of googling, it was solved, so here it is for those (many) with the same problem:One needs to add+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet"into the modem initialisation string box (windoze XP).Totally bizzare. I found a clue to this in some vodafone forum.Disabling multilink in the Network tab for the network connection is also seemingly required, and this proved quite difficult since windoze keeps putting that option back in.
It is curious since the phone already knows the APN because mobile internet works on the phone itself, just by inserting the SIM card. Clearly it uses the auto-APN protocol to get that. Similarly when I use Joikuspot touse the phone as a modem - no APN config needed there either. why use bluetooth DUN when one can just use wifi, with Joikuspot? Well, JS is not a great solution either. It delivers a computer-computer wifi connection which most windoze computers will not connect to, or not reliably, unless configured to ignore all "infrastructure" (i.e. access point) wifi networks. If there is a normal wifi network in range, the laptop will keep trying to use that instead and won't connect to the JS one. Also, JS offers only WEP encryption which while easily secure enough for this type of occassional usage is not correctly supported by many very modern computing devices (it confuses the h*ll out of Apple IOS stuff, for example) which support only WPA etc. Also wifi uses a lot more battery power in the phone than bluetooth.

Mar 23, 2010Recently i have purchased Nokia 5233 mobile and i activated Mobile Office. Now i am facing a problem like once i exit from internet GPRS connection resumes automatically. Even i tried to disconnect connectivity from Options --> Connectivity --> Connection Manager --> Disconnect. But i couldn't stop resume GPRS connection. I did enquire with SIM customer care they said whether it would be problem with virus.
But i have installed Trend Micro software and i did manual scan for virus. It founf 0 virus.Whether is it problem with virus or software / hardware?
Kindly suggest me how to resolve from automatic restart of GPRS connections.

Jan 7, 2010I am trying for some time now to set up my email account on my new Nokia E72 without any success. I hit the email setup button, chose the right access point provided by the mobile company and after I enter the email and password the message "maximum number connections in use. Close an active connection first" appears. Here I only have two options OK or CANCEL. Hitting CANCEL it just gets out of what I was doing. Hitting OK it only gives me the acces point which I am using without any other option so I have to close it. Could anyone help me with this problem please?

3. No SMS without conversations, I hate conversations. I hate that nokia are copying iphone...
4. No copying of old SMS to N900. I was a N86 8MP user before this handset arrived today. I have about 1 to 2 THOUSAND messages, from over the years and Im a texaholic, so I NEED to save them....
5. No extra data connections, With O2 UK, I would normally have 3 connections:
O2 MMS
O2 WAP
O2 GPRS
But in addition to this, the new sim cards, automatically have a O2 postpay wap connection. So, I would like to have as many connections as I can!
6. No editing contact number description text. With, another let down, I have hundreds of contacts and about 10-30 of those have more than 2 or 3 numbers. For example, my workplace contact. I had like 10 to 11 numbers, plus other details, such as notes and emails all stored under 1 contact! For each number and note, I edited the text so I know exactly whos number it was, or what that text related to
I sure there's more, but atm since turning it on, charging, updating to latest firmware and first time boot with sim card, this is what I have found so far...

Feb 5, 2010I purchased my E72 last week and installed the latest Nokia Maps with free navigation support.
I had an absolutely seamless GPS connection in the initial three to four days of usage, but now, it takes me an eternity for the GPS to connect to the satellite. I have to wait for a minimum of 5-10 minutes every time I want to use the GPS. I tried reinstalling the maps, but that did not help, either. Should I Hard Reset the phone? Is there any simpler method?
Nokia :: 5800 - No 3G Connectivity On AT&T
Mar 6, 2010I don't seem to be getting any 3G data connectivity on my fairly new Nokia Xpress Music 5800 Navigation Edition phone. It is only connecting via Edge. I checked with AT&T who verified that my account is provisioned for 3G data and I am easily within the coverage area since I am in NYC.
When I force the network mode to UMTS, the phone shows the 3G or 3.5G icon but there are no signal bars. Then if I force the Operator Selection to manual it sees AT&T, but when I select it I get a "No access" error message.
I understand early 5800s had a problem with 3G connectivity in NYC that was fixed with a firmware update. I'm using firmware 40.2.005.465.03.
Is there anything I can try to get 3G working or is this phone likely defective?

Jun 16, 2010I have an N97 with 3 and I used to be able to connect to the internet and download with no issues. Since a firmware update a few weeks ago every time I try and connect to the internet the phones starts looking for a WLAN connection, rather than "connecting via 3" like it used to.

1) Regarding 3G and WLAN, how to manage switching between both ? Ideally, I would like the phone to switch to any known WLAN when available, and use 3G for data only when no WLAN is accessible. Is it possible to automate that, or should I manage the switch by hand ?
2) Regarding mail connectivity, I see 3 options : default connection, full internet, mobile internet. Only full internet weems to work to access an internet mailbox. What is the difference between all 3 ? Again, I would like my mailbox tu use a WLAN connection as preferred one, and switch to 3G only when needed.

Feb 11, 2010I had updated my phone with firmware version 40.0.005.I am having problem while connecting to my bluetooth enable car stereo JVC KD AVX-44 Car System.It connects to the car system but when i start playing music in my mobile , it got disconnected from car stereo and then reconnects for 10 seconds approx and then disconnects again.There is no problem while connecting to the car system with Nokia 72,73,81 and Motorola A1200 etc.Before update V 40 i am able to connect the car system, but was not able to use next track or previous track using my car stereo remote .After updating V 40 I am able to use next track or previous track but my connection to car system losts in about 10 secs.
