I have an N97 with 3 and I used to be able to connect to the internet and download with no issues. Since a firmware update a few weeks ago every time I try and connect to the internet the phones starts looking for a WLAN connection, rather than "connecting via 3" like it used to.
I got a Nokia E72 the other week, and as Orange mucked up my phone plan, I am without internet (apart from off peak time) for another month. My phone seems to just randomly connect to the Internet and I can't work out how to turn it off.I'm worried I may have a big bill at the end of the month!
My settings say "Use access point - After Confirmation" for the Internet access point in my "Network destinations". But when I start the browser, there is no warning message.
As mentioned above, I am missing internet connectivity for the applications that I have installed or were installed by Nokia. The mobile-built in browser and e.g. downloading of applications work fine via the GPRS network! My mobile is hooked up to the Austrian bob network.
Any whooo got myself a new phone last week (figured it was time as I had my last one almost 7 years!!) and I've been trying to set up up etc ever since. I'm now at the confused.com point I want to use my phone on the WLAN at home and I've added the service to the phone using the wizard etc however every time it connects its seems to use the futures bright internet and thus I incur download charges, ok they are only a few pence at a time but I don't know why it does this. I've set the phone to ask on connection and I pick the WLAN every time. Can anyone help me please - fyi this phone has been unlocked and unbranded and is currently using PAYG, don't know if that makes any difference or not but thought I would share
I'm looking for a cable that will support internet connectivity through my Blackberry. I have the service from Verizon but my only option is a USB to micro USB cable. Honestly I'd LIKE to connect my iPad and so I bought the Griffin Charge and Sync cable but now I need a micro USB to USB converter (or a micro USB to micro USB cable). A lot of the cables and converters I'm seeing only work on specific phones or tablets (like Sony or Samsung) and Blackberry is never mentioned.
unboxed & started the Android 2.1 Defy I got the internet working instantly on GPRS/EDGE using SIM from earlier phone BUT after I downloaded a 3rd party app from Android Market called RTI India the internet just vanished .. I mean .. I don't even see or get the up-down motion arrow mark next to the signal strength on my handset anymore. Phoof ... gone with the wind .. no sign of even showing up a bit despite managing the settings (Wireless & networks + Data Manager) n no. of times. The settings are all good to go for internet connectivity.I then got an advice from Moto India that I needed to uninstall & restart the device in order to get the internet working again but sadly this didn't work. Have requested Vodafone (service provider) to come up with a solution although my gut feeling told me to try out an all-weather antidote from Motorola i.e., "factory hard reset" .. so I called Motorola India again and got exactly this advice.
Has anybody faced this problem .. if so, then has this reset worked to regain internet connectivity OR is there something else altogether ? My phone is still on Android 2.1 since FroYo upgrade is still being tested. Lemme also know if I need to remove the SIM card before doing the factory hard reset? Just wanna be sure before I go ahead with the reset
Yesterday morning, a little after 7:15a, my iPhone 5 stopped receiving internet information. The connection had ceased. There was still a strong LTE and Wifi signal, but no connectivity. I turned off and on the calling/LTE and wifi setting, as well as powered down the phone, but still no connectivity. Phone appears to be getting the signal, but will not connect. Call and text messages work, but no internet connection and zero apps working.
My C6 connects to my wifi connection successfully and passes the internet connectivity test too.. However once its connected it does not open any page, marketplace don't open, facebook don't work.. All show "Cannot connect to server".
I am having an awful time loosing cellular data - can't send or receive text messages, use Safari or Find my Friends etc. I came into the forums looking for help and found posts about the personal hotspot constantly spinning. I looked at mine and it was too. I did a hard reset and it finally stopped. Immediately I got connectivity back. I don't know if that is causing my loosing internet or not but it seems coincidence that when it stopped spinning I got it back.Simply going into and out of airplane mode and toggling cellular data on and off never restores connectivity. Often it will restore when I leave the building. But I have 3-4 bars of signal and 4G listed as available when I'm inside. Also, something is chewing up my battery. I was at 100% when I left the house at 8 am and at 65% at 10 am with the phone sitting on the desk doing nothing.
I purchased my E72 last week and installed the latest Nokia Maps with free navigation support.
I had an absolutely seamless GPS connection in the initial three to four days of usage, but now, it takes me an eternity for the GPS to connect to the satellite. I have to wait for a minimum of 5-10 minutes every time I want to use the GPS. I tried reinstalling the maps, but that did not help, either. Should I Hard Reset the phone? Is there any simpler method?
I don't seem to be getting any 3G data connectivity on my fairly new Nokia Xpress Music 5800 Navigation Edition phone. It is only connecting via Edge. I checked with AT&T who verified that my account is provisioned for 3G data and I am easily within the coverage area since I am in NYC.
When I force the network mode to UMTS, the phone shows the 3G or 3.5G icon but there are no signal bars. Then if I force the Operator Selection to manual it sees AT&T, but when I select it I get a "No access" error message.
I understand early 5800s had a problem with 3G connectivity in NYC that was fixed with a firmware update. I'm using firmware 40.2.005.465.03.
Is there anything I can try to get 3G working or is this phone likely defective?
I am Using N8 for the last 10 months; from last week onwards my USB port doesnt work-When I connect it to the PC the following happens-Its starts chargingIt shows Nokia Suite/ Mass Storage Active in USB setting in the phoneNo USB symbol on the topIn the PC I get the Warning USB Device Not RecognizedWhen I connect flash drive thru USB OTGI get the message Unsupported USB device. Disconnect DeviceUSB symbol blinks on the topSo far I have done the following-Reinstalled Nokia Suite 3.3 & Nokia cable driverHave done soft reset of the PhoneTried connecting in other PCTried different USB cablesCleaned USB port with contact cleanerMy phone is on the latest available update in my region
I have only had this phone for 7 months and now when I try to connect via USB, my computer does not recognize it at all when I open PC Suite or Ovi. I've tried choosing both PC Suite and Mass Storage options when connecting. Neither has worked. I even switched USB cables to see if there was an issue with my original one and this has failed as well.
I am trying to connect my new Nokia 5230 to the pc, using a CA-101 USB cable but it will not work even as a mass storage device, so i downloaded Nokia PC suite and when i get to the connecting wizard it still will not connect to the phone, and a pop up box appears saying usb device not recognised, so i am at a loss, can anybody help?
I just bought this phone today, and i have done everything step by step to connect to my wireless router at home, when i go to connection manager it shows my home network, when i set up its acces point all is fine untill i go to the connection menu and there is no symbol for wlan it only has bluetooth, infrered, data cbl, modem, conn mgr, dev mgr, internet tel, IM and Sync, but not Wlan option anywhere, does any1 know what my problem is?when i go to the web a pop up shows sayin no gateway reply, i have done a full rest and then done everything in the bobk step by step, i dont know what wrong with it, the only reason i bought this Phone was for the wifi
It's been about a month since I found the Nokia Messaging got disconnected when the battery is low (1 bar left), then whatever I do just cannot make it get connected again.
1) Regarding 3G and WLAN, how to manage switching between both ? Ideally, I would like the phone to switch to any known WLAN when available, and use 3G for data only when no WLAN is accessible. Is it possible to automate that, or should I manage the switch by hand ?
2) Regarding mail connectivity, I see 3 options : default connection, full internet, mobile internet. Only full internet weems to work to access an internet mailbox. What is the difference between all 3 ? Again, I would like my mailbox tu use a WLAN connection as preferred one, and switch to 3G only when needed.
I had updated my phone with firmware version 40.0.005.I am having problem while connecting to my bluetooth enable car stereo JVC KD AVX-44 Car System. It connects to the car system but when i start playing music in my mobile , it got disconnected from car stereo and then reconnects for 10 seconds approx and then disconnects again. There is no problem while connecting to the car system with Nokia 72,73,81 and Motorola A1200 etc. Before update V 40 i am able to connect the car system, but was not able to use next track or previous track using my car stereo remote .After updating V 40 I am able to use next track or previous track but my connection to car system losts in about 10 secs.
I just got a new Nokia X6 and downloaded Nokia PC suite, installed it and tried connecting my phone to it and got an error saying "there is no available connection type..........."
All of a sudden PC Suite quit seeing that my phone is plugged in. I hear it being recognized when I plug it into a USB port. but I don't see it listed in my explorer when I look at the drives and I thought it was before. I thought it was my data cable (CA-53), so I bought another one with the same results. This just started happening recently and I have made no changes to the system that would cause this. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have a very good system with a lot of RAM.
I have set my e-mail account on my E72.Up until yesterday, the packet data connection was always on (the "3G" arrows logo was always on the upper-left corner), and new messages/updates were syncing on "real-time".Yesterday suddenly, the connection stopped, and now in order to retrieve new messages, I need to connect manually - and yet, after the sync process ends, it disconnect automatically. How can I set back the permanent connection?
I decided to start a new thread in the hope more people would see this. I have the connectivity error when i try install pc suite ( i was having problems with it so i uninstalled it, had further problems and went through the registry and deleted anything with nokia in it), i tried all the steps here (pc suite cleaner crashes at 7 %) revo uninstaller found no trace of nokia anywhere on my system but yet i still get the connectivity cable driver error.Any help?
I have been monitoring my E75 for a while now (>2 months), and it seems with the firmware 202.12.01, the ongoing call (conversation) will get drops whenever there is mysterious 3.5G data connectivity in the background. I have checked all the settings available and has set to 'always ask' before connecting to ISP 3/3.5G data connection. I am unable to determine which application is the culprit for the connectivity whenever it occurs. All I can see under connection wizard is that there is 3/3.5G data connection with traffic growing whenever there is a call drop. As there is no newer firmware than 202.12.01, wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issue.
I am facing a strange issue where my newly bought N97 mini is dropping WLAN connectivity after every minute. I have to go and connect it otherwise my GPRS connectivity is used to go to internet. I have nokia E66 which is working fine. Please help me if I have to do some setting change. Also, I want my WLAN should take priority over GPRS when I am connecting to internet. I was able to set the access point in E66 but some facing some issue with N97.
I downloaded the right ovi appstore version... and i plugged in my new nuron 5320 or 5230 whatever the number is... I selected pc suite mode.. the ovi suite does not seem to pick it up.. it cant connect with it. I have installed all the drivers by previously selecting the mass storage mode and it installed drivers but its not working... Im using windows vista SP 2
I keep the location settings on lumia 610 always turned on. I have observed that if I sit at a place, stationary, then the GPS is connected instantly and I can see my location on the map. But whenever I'm traveling in a bus / car the handset cannot find its location using GPS. It shows "Looking for GPS" message for all the time.
Is this a 1. GPS hardware issue ? 2. Some s/w update issue ? 3. Satellite issue ?
I brought this Lumia 600 a couple of weeks ago. My issue is Wifi connects initially but after playing sometime with the XBox games.. the WIFI automatically disconnects giving no reasons but the phone is not hung. Then i have to reboot the phone to get the wifi back...again after 15 mins it disconnects...and this process continues.
I tried to install Nokia PC Suite for my Nokia 6730, but without success, because the system says: "The older version of Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver cannot be removed."What can I do ?
I am writing to express my disappointment with the Nokia product I purchased recently.
I bought an E66 handset from Carrefour in Shanghai last month, thinking that it would have full features.
With the Nokia site for China not having any information available in English, I used the Nokia site from Oman (where I am currently living) to research the specifications.
It was not until I returned to Oman that I realized that the E66 sold in China and the E66 sold elsewhere was not actually the same phone.
The phone that I bought is missing key features that persuaded me to buy it in the first place. It is missing:
Front camera. 3G capabilities. WiFi connectivity. Lifetime navigation with OviMaps. Plus a range of other features that I was looking for.
This is marketed as a business phone, yet is missing the features I need to properly conduct business.
I do not understand why a global brand such as Nokia would ensure that the E66 model would have the same features universally.
I am thoroughly upset and disappointed at Nokia; having been a Nokia user for more than 12 years I have been let down by the brand that I have remained loyal to. Essentially, I was misled into buying a very bad phone.
Is there any way that you can explain the reasons behind the difference in the Chinese and Global E66 and/or equip me with an E66 that has the features I am looking for?
