Eseries / Communicators :: E75 Net Connectivity - "no Valid Connections"
Apr 23, 2012
i use E75. PC suite installed on my laptop with windows 7. i was using the phone as a modem with PC internet access. nowadays i am unable to connect to the net. when i click on pc internet access, it opens the window asking me to press connect. when i press connect, within seconds it shows "no valid connections". what to do?
I currently have two default connections on my Nokia E7, priority 1 is my company's wlan, priority 2 is the internet. I want to change it so the wlan is priority 2, how can i do this?
I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling. My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location? If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals
I have bought a Nokia E71 from a friend and when trying to download something from the Ovi store it asks for my user name and password, but says my user name and password are wrong and won't connect. I am using the same ones I use to connect to Ovi on my computer and it accepts them OK. Could this be because the previous owner's user name and password have been stored somewhere on the phone and as a security measure it won't let me in with my user name and password?
Does anyone know what I can do to be able to log in to Ovi on my phone so that I can download an application? The one I want at the moment is Sports Tracker so that I can check how many miles I do when going for a walk. I could perhaps find it online and download straight from their website, but I do really need to be able to download things through Ovi if required.
My problem is, when the phone goes in an area where there's no service, the 3G icon shows up in the right top corner, but when I go back to the area that has service, the 3G icon won't go away and I can't make any calls nor receive. only solution is to turn off the phone and turn back on. can you help me about that, how I can receive service again without restarting the phone?
my E6 seems to always show a 3G connection icon. I am not surfing the internet though and everything is set not to make connections. WiFi is priority 1.
I have just compared E-63 and 5233 both the phones have same 2 mega pixel camera and also have same resolution of 1600*1200 and there is a huge difference between in there pictures which are clicked at the same time and location when i m seeing in the PC.
I amusing E63 mobile phone. I am not been able to view the contacts in the mobile, so not been able to use the same. But when an incoming call comes in I do get the name resolution of the person calling and his mobile no which is stored in the contacts.I tried backing up the mobile and all the time the backup of contacts could not happened and besides Contacts rest all is backed up....
have encounted som bugs after installing belle on my nokia E7-00, and I want to reinstall the FW, but when I try this via the Nokia suite, I got an error, stating that something went wrong: Error-code 12048. The solution recommanded is to reinstall nokia suite.
I just installed an application for changing fonts in E71. After that I must restart my phone but after I restart, I can't turn on my phone. I've already removed the battery and memory card but it doesnt work. How can I turn on my phone again? TT
Last night I found new firmware E5: 042,014 15-dec-2010, custom version 042.014.c00.01 type RM-632.I changed the phone 2 times and the third I was replacing the motherboard nokia-care because he had a flaw in network management. Happens that when I am in a place with little network coverage, hold the phone in my hand, I lose the network.I'm testing the new firmware to see if there are improvements.
I have an E52, when i updated to V:054 it freezes or goes slow some times.I would really like to update to V:0.71, but I can't because OVI and the phone both say V:054 it the latest.
I would like to connect my Nokia E52 to my desktop PC running XP SP3 using a wireless connection. I need to transfer files to/from PC. My PC is connected to Internet using a network cable via a D-Link DI-524 router that has also wireless connectivity.
I have raised the issue of non activation of GPS in my e63 set. after posting i found that my opinion is listed and visible. today i fing my topic is missing.
its sounds are very low medial player sounds ringing volume etc they are very low some time i even cant here them when i walk in a road or in movie time?
My Nokia E7's Maps claims to be v3.09 12wk09 b05, MW OpenGL MN, Map version 0.2.47103 and 'SW Update' in checking for the latest improvements for (the) Nokia E7-00, says "Good news. Your E7-00 is already fully up-to-date."
Just before a weekly backup through Nokia Suite 3.6.36, I notice an opportunity to update the maps and, silly me, I decided to cheese the 'All' option erroneously thinking I'd have success updating 1,800+MB of map data; needless to say, at around 950MB or so, the error message of 'unrecoverable download error' or something to that effect left me with fewer maps than with which I began, including my local neighborhood!I attempted (several times) to download the map covering my local area and, when I tapped on the little red dot that show my current location, the surrounding vicinity is blank with the exception of several stars showing some of my Favorites.
Tapping the '-' to zoom out, however, reveals what appears to be street lines on half of the screen. Sure enough, there are some 'distant' Favorites, complete with streets but no street names except for major highways. Scrolling around leads to a screen freeze and even the lower left-hand 'x' to close fails as does any other attempt to close or even move to a different home screen. Closing the E7 and flipping it back open does nothing. Holding down the power button gives me three short, quick vibrations and then again gives me a reboot.
Back in Maps shows I have no maps at all; however, I can access Favorites in other countries. Downloading a map for the area where I live takes me back to my original dilemma where my current location is shown, but the surrounding vicinity is blank with the exception of several stars showing some of my Favorites, including those in different countries; however, even there not all streets/street names appear.Deleting that previously downloaded map and downloading it again makes no difference.
The Nokia N8 has this app, which allows you to broadcast/transmit music onto a certain specified frequency, making it possible to listen to music which is on the phone, while your e.g. in your car. Is this app also available for the E7-00?
I just bought a new nokia e7 two days ago. It works great, i have no error msg's or anything. Just that my vibrating alert/screen vibration does not work. I even tried hard reset. I did not work out of the box to be honest. Is it a bug or it's my phone?
I just bought this e7 phone last month and its been nothing but trouble... It hangs and i have to long press the powe button to shut it down and restarts and then when it comes on.it hangs within the next 30 seconds and this process continues into a routine... I tried softformatting it and it doesnt hang anymore but a new problem is generated... It pratically keeps screaming system error...i can't do much with the phone. I dont know which condition is better anymore, the phone's previous state or its new state...
I am using E7 . It was working fine but since last two weeks it is giving problems. Last night I was making call mean while it got turned off. I guess, The battery was dead. Then I started to charge the phone but it wont start charging. The white LED light on the phone sometimes blink for a while finally stops. I tried many option to charge it was not able to succeed. I tried to charge my cell phone with different charger but it was not charging
I've been using (not that heavy) the E6 for some days now and have noticed that the battery life is no where near as strong as specified as the specifications.
My old E71 performed better. The E6 uses more power yet the standby times are supposedly much improved compared to the E71 (which is ridiculous!) because both phones have the same battery strength.
Do you reckon Nokia have been too optimistic with their battery life specifications. I just feel a bit cheated because the battery life was one of the things I specifically investigated before purchasing the phone.
i had a problem with connecting My brand new e71 with my PC,it shows error, "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this Click on the message "
When i connect it to PC in my mobile it shows the connecting options suite, mass storage etc.But nothing works..
Another e71 of my friend is able connect to the same PC as normal.
I've had my E72 for about a year and a half now, and whereas originally I could charge it via USB, it stopped doing this after a software update. Soft resets, hard resets, OS update: nothing helps.
To clarify what exactly happens:I connect the E72 via USB. It beeps long, indicating that it's connected to 'PC suite', and short, indicating that it started charging. It keeps charging whilst the backlight is on.As soon as the backlight goes off, charging stops. The only way to have it charge again (at least, until the screen goes black again) is by removing and re-inserting the USB cable.
On a side note, it's this kind of behaviour, plus that the latest software update meant that you always go back to the top of the page when choosing 'back' in the browser (not a good thing on a smartphone - well, at least they fixed the text select), and the fact that OVI suite (compulsory if you want to do anything useful with your phone, like maps) fills up two-thirds of the screen with this useless shop of theirs, that I've come to the conclusion that my next phone is not going to be a Nokia - a brand I've been using since the late 90's.
But until my employer gives me an Android phone, it'd be nice if I could charge the E72 via USB.
