Dec 6, 2012My problem is that I wanto to format my phone memory because theres some major issues with my phone Ofcourse i would like to create a backup with my contacts, messages , everything When i connect my Nokia E5-00 to my laptop using Usb Cable, the nokia pc suite cannot view my messages or my contacts or any calender entries.I tried backing them up, but the problem persists, pc suite cannot back them up, but can backup other items such as notes, gallery files, sttings..i also cannot synchronise my contacts from phone to pc i tried reinstalling the Pc support on my phone, i deleted the sms, contacts and mms ds plugins and reinstalled the support, it installs succesfully , but it wouldnt solve my problemModel: nokia e5-00Software version: 101.003version date: 27-jun-2012?

Mar 11, 2010I think my N97 is playing up. I cant take photos as it says my E drive is full which is nonsense as I only had 5 pics on there no music or video!. When I went to file manager it wont let me access the mass memory as it says "memory in use". I thought if I synced it up to my Mac i could somehow get into the E drive and see what the problem is but low and behold its not compatible. I've had a look on here for Mac versions and theres lots of people talking about it but no links or descriptions as to where I might find it!. I sync is useless as this just does calendar and notes. I need something that will let me access everything on my phone.

Oct 18, 2011I've update PC Suit to its latest version, but dragging inside the calendar stop working after this update. What is not working is dragging the entry from hour/day to hour/day and changing its duration by the mouse. No cursor change, no effect. Both was working in the previous version. Is this a bug in new version, removed feature or is it some problem on my machine?

Aug 30, 2010On June calendar sync worked fine between my E55 and Outlook 97. After my summer vacation sync doesn't work.
Now I get always error message: "Reconnect the USB cable or connect via Bluetooth. Then senc again. Error code: 8004fced" I have tried with cable and BT. Already I have reinstalled Ovi Suite and I have flashed my E55 again but these didn't help. Sync working with contacts, messages and pictures.

OVI suite tells me that there has to be outlook installed.but it is a complete new installation pf all nokia components did not help.any ideas?
Nokia :: 6300 Calendar - Appt Time Different On Phone And On PC Suite
Jul 10, 2010I'm trying to transfer all my appointments from the calendar on a 6300 to a 6303i using PC Suite. They all came across an hour later. (Contacts and messages all came across OK) So I went back and checked the 6300 - all correct. Linked the 6300 to my PC using PC Suite and viewed appointments directly - lo and behold, an appointment showing as 11:45am on the phone, shows as 12:45 on the PC screen! I presume this is something to do with daylight saving, since both phone and PC are set to GMT. The 6300 does not have a daylight saving setting, so I simply re-set the time myself, but maybe the PC Suite software automatically does it? But if so, why change the time of the appointments, surely this was only a problem if you changed timezones (e.g. to GMT +1) in the old days?Anyone out there have any suggestions as I don't want to have to re-input a year's worth of appointments!

Jun 14, 2010A couple of issues I found after upgrading to 2.1.1.1:
1) Tools->Options->Device sync: I cannot check Calendar and tasks. There isn't even such a chekbox. However If I go down to the "Calendar and tasks" option I can set date range for sync, and MS Outlook. but I can't turn the sync on. If I go to Sync->Sync status it show that my cal is never synced. In PC Suite this was possible, but not anymore.
2) I want the suite to sit silent in the system tray and sync silently. Not pop up and be obtrusive during my web meetings. In PC Suite, this was possible to do, but not anymore.

Dec 18, 2012Is it possible to somehow acces the calendar entries that are saved in a N8 backup file created by the Nokia Suite (v3.6.36), without restoring the backup to the N8 device?The background story:My N8 currently is not working, I have to take it to the service point. Now because I'm synchronizing my main calendar on the N8 with Microsoft Exchange, the Nokia Suite Calendar sync is off. But I had other calendars on my N8 (not synchronized with Exchange) and I'd like to access my calendar entries from there. I've made frequent backups of the whole calendar entries with Nokia Suite, so I hope I can somehow at least read my calendar entries from there.

Jun 18, 2010I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

Apr 15, 2010Have a N900. Got the phone to work against Smart Suite and later Ovis Suite very well for the first 3 weeks. Then the trouble started. I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this?? Hope for help without re-intsalling the machine.

Aug 14, 2010The back up files on my lap top (windows 7) cannot be accessed, the note tells me -
Adobe Reader could not open "Blackberry Bold 9700- (date) .ipd " because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and was not correctly decoded)
Why is the file saved to Adobe if it is a unsupportable file?
The synchronisation was done as per proceedure and works in other respects. It is not done by e-mail. Who is hiding my calendar - is it BBry or Microsoft?
BBry back up seems to remove ( I cannot ge them in any other Windows location that I can find) all my previous calendar records and then puts them in a file I cannot open!
This either means I have to go back to using a paper diary and therefore can do without a 9700 or any other BBry product - or I go to an entire MAc set -up.

Aug 25, 2010I sync my BB with Outlook via Google Calendar so the process goes Blackberry to Google Calendars to Outlook via a cable on my PC.
The problem I have is:
Create a calendar item in Outlook -> shows up fine in OWA and on the BB.
Create a calendar item on BB -> shows up in Outlook but not in OWA.
Anyone else come across this? Surely OWA reads the same info as the Outlook client? Why isnt it seeing the calendar item created on the BB?

Nov 2, 2015After days of searching I have been successf in syncing contacts, calendar, and tasks on my Samsung Android phone (Galaxy S5) with Outlook 2010 on my Windows 7 Desktop using the following tools and procedure:
Install Samsung's Android "SmartSwitch" app on the phone
Install Samsung's Windows "SmartSwitch" application on the desktop
Configure the Windows "SmartSwitch" application to sync the desired outlook data.After the phone and desktop applications are installed and configured, connect the phone to the desktop using an appropriate USB cable. Windows plug and play may or may not correctly recognize the phone, but the SmartSwitch application should connect to the phone's client app and initiate the data transfer.
On the phone, email, contacts, and calendar applications will readily display and update the Outlook data from your desktop. Unfortunately, accessibility of Outlook's "To Do" task list is somewhat obscure due to Samsung's non-intuitive UI and menu organization.To access Outlook's "To Do" task list, using the phone's Calendar app:
Tap the timeframe (Day, Week, Month, Year) text in the upper left screen header.In the resulting drop-down, tap "Agenda" and the screen will display an agenda of dated Calendar events and "Agenda" in the upper left screen header.Tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper right screen header
In the resulting drop-down, tap "Filter by" and select "Tasks" in the resulting pop-up and the screen will now display undated tasks in the main window. I noticed that after going through this process once, when the main display is in "Agenda" mode I have an "Undated" section at the top of the display.
