Nokia :: OVI Suite - Multiple Profiles - Contacts Mixed
Jun 27, 2010
I have two Nokia phones - one is mine and one is my partners. Both phones sync with OVI suite but I want to keep two separate profiles. When my phone is synced all my contacts are mixed up with my partners' and vice versa.
I recently just noticed that 3 of my contacts messages are being stored together when i group messages by contact as well as in the conversation window. The only thing in common with all these contacts is that they all have the same surename because their first names and contact numbers are all different. Is there anyway I can stop this from happening and seperate the messages that have previously been grouped togtether?
Operating system: Windows Vista Handset Model: n95 Firmware version: V35.0.002 Using usb cable to connect. OVI version: 2.2.0.245
The phone icon has disappeared from my desktop and it's not in any folders. In essence, I can't make any outgoing calls or check voicemail. how to get back my phone icon?
I have contact list with records for a lot of people (300+), each with several phone numbers each, home, mobile & work, etc, .I can't seem to find a way to have the iPhone announce the name & number or name & type (home, mobile, work) of the caller from the contact list, my old cell phone could do that easily.
At the moment what I've been doing as a work around for a few (important) people is to create a custom ringtone for that caller & that phone number. Since it also seems there's no way to attach a different ringtones to each number in a single contact record I've had to create multiple contact records for each person, each with a different name/number combination such as "John Doe Work", "John Doe Home" or John Doe Mobile" then assign to it the custom ringtone I created for that name/number.
I need to this so that if I receive a call while I'm driving (or whatever) that I can't answer right then for some reason (often happens), the ringtone I created for that name & number helpfully lets me know who & where their calling from. It's very important to know where someone is calling from, if someone's calling from home then I know I've got some time, but if their calling from work then I need to get back to them quickly.
having to make multiple contacts & ringtones for a every person with multiple numbers is a extraordinary waste of time. My old cell phone could do this with no problem but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this with my new iphone.
I have many contacts which have numbers saved under the same label. For example a contact like this:
First name: AMobile: 11Mobile: 22Telephone: 33Telephone: 44 When I open Ovi Suite / Contacts / Contacts in E51 and open the abovementioned contact "A" it shows:
AMobile: 11Telephone: 44Mobile (other): 22As you see it deleted one of "Telephone" labeled numbers. It also happened when I used PC suite.
It is really annoying as if I save/sync the contact using Ovi, it causes loss of contacts data.BTW there is no problem using Backup/Restore function of Ovi/PC suite, nor "Copy to memory card" function of the phone itself.
Ovi suit version : 2.1.1.1
Nokia E51 v300.34.56
Windows 7
tested another one with 6 different numbers under the same "Mobile" label the result in Ovi is:
AAMobile: 11Mobile (main): 33Mobile (other): 22the other 3 numbers were lost
I'm really confused here I have a E72 which I sync with a exchange server (Contacts, calendar and mail). The sync part seems to work fine. However, I would also like to sync Notes and have the ability to SMS from my computer. That's where I thought Ovi Suite came into the picture but I'm having some problems:When sending SMS from Ovi Suite: I enter name of the contact the name appears with a preview of the phone number in the format "070-783XXXX", when I try to send it says invalid format so I need to enter the number manually in the format "070783XXXX" to be able to send the SMSWhen I update a contact in Outlook, the contact is updated in phone, but not in Ovi SuiteWhen I use outlook number formats (specifying country, area code etc) the number appears as "+46 (070) 783XXXX", but then number recognition doesn't seem to work on incoming calls. What I want to accomplish and wonder if it is at all possible is:Manage my contacts, calendar and mail in Outlook. Sync through MfEReach my contacts from Ovi Suite to be able to send SMS to themUse Ovi Suite to manage Map files, Music, and other phone files.Use Ovi Suite to Sync Notes from Outlook.I'm I on the right track here? Any suggestions for a better way of managing contacts and having the functionality I've described?
About every second time I synchronize my N96 with both my PC and my contacts on ovi.com, ovi suite states an error. ("Synchronization failed ...")
In general, synchronizing contacts between ovi suite and ovi.com is taking ages.
I think reliabiliy and speed of this feature still needs A LOT of improvement...
(Although that applies to some other features as well... for example bluetooth connection, which is completely useless for me: /t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/bluetooth-sync-extremely-slow/m-p/656359)
I have a N97 with latest firmware. Does anybody know how to sync contacts group with Ovi PC suite or Ovi.com? I go to the option in (Menu/Settings/Connectivity/Data transfer/Sync/), then edit profile. But don't know how to define the database of contacts group.
I recently lost my Nokia 5800, ainda i had it syncronized with my nokia ovi suite. Is there a way to export those contacts i have in nokia ovi suite, without plug in a nokia phone?
I have the E90 communicator hooked up to pc with pc suite and ovi.I have almost 2000 contacts and most of them have multiple numbers saved under the same name. These numbers have often the same type (mobile or telephone for example)When exporting these contacts using PC suite i'm loosing some numbers from contacts which have several numbers with the same type.
Further more i've the problem that the exported vCard can only store 6 number (3 private mobile, telephone and fax and 3 business) in its property, while i'm having contacts with over 10 numbers. Is it possible to export a contact having 10 numbers without losing one of them?
I have a Nokia 5230 with software version 20.0.005 and I am running Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1 on Vista 64 bit.I connect either by bluetooth or USB. With this it is possible to synchronize messages, music and pictures. However, when synchronizing the calender or contacts with bluetooth Ovi Suite simply crashes. When synchronizing with the USB cable it gives either the message: "Sync Canceled Could not sync contacts. Reconnect the USB cable to your device or connect via Bluetooth. Then sync again. Error code: 80043c93" When synchronizing the calender it gives the message: "Sync Canceled Could not sync calender items and tasks. Reconnect the USB cable to your device or connect via Bluetooth. Then sync again."I have configered Ovi Suite to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook.Do you have any solution to this problem.
I just wanted to back up my address book contacts from my Nokia 6300, using Nokia PC Suite. Unfortunately, the backup process stopped before completing, backing up only 13 contacts. Then, it synchronized these 13 contacts back to my cellphone, deleting all other 400 contacts on the phone.
Do you have any idea on how i can recover those lost contacts? I have already checked the Nokia PC Suite backup file using Noki software, however it also only shows 13 contacts. Also checked the PCCSContact file in the application data folder with SQLite3 Manager. However, it doesnt show any more contacts either. Any chance I can access the contacts on the mobile phone storage card?

what I liked most of Nokia PC suite was the possibility to export contacts in a .csv file. This was usefull to transfer contacts from a Nokia phone to another Nokia phone. For example I copied my N82 contact list to my Nokia5000 easily using a .csv export. How can I export my contact list in a .csv file using the new Nokia Ovi Suite !? (I've installed the lastest version).
I have a Nokia 5800 and it has broken sadly. I was using the PC suite to edit and move stuff from my phone memory before I send it back, and I was just wondering how I copy or move the contacts from the phone memory to either the memory card or the SIM card.
Nokia c6-00 brand new. Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 - downloaded and installed today Windows XP SP3 Outlook 2003 SP3
When I go in to Tools > Options then select Contacts and select Microsoft Outlook, Ovi Suite crashes. There is the first Nokia phone so there has been no other Nokia software installed on this PC before.
I don't have a nokia store any close to my place, so I cannot deal with it. It is this annoying mixed up letters when I'm writing. So what happened was that I updated my software on my nokia n97 min to 30.0.004. After the update , when I went to write a message , most of the letters are mixed up - if I press A it's Q and so on..It's really difficult using my phone since all it's messed up, and even worst- if I go on the web browser they are even more messed up then when I am writing a message. I really have no idea what to do. I already reinstalled the software at least 10 times but the same problem is coming over and over again. I don't understand why, when I did it trough Ovi suite, so it is supposed to be the right software. Is there any another place where I can download the software manually and install it manually?
I have a Nokia n97, and it is synced to Ovi Suite on my PC (latest version) I need to reinstall my OS (Windows 7), but I want to make sure everything is backed up first. Where does the Ovi Suite software store the Messages and Contacts and Photos/Videos on the Local Machine
how to sync all my contacts, messages and pictures from my Nokia Ovi Suite to my Blackberry curve 9300. If this isnt possible, is there a way i can export it using another format?
I just upgraded my Atrix to Gingerbread and the contacts images are no longer loading from the linked profiles.I cannot figure out how to enable this again.
i am reltively new with the x 10 Mine is just 2 months old And recently updated it to 2.1 But mediascape doesnt still have a option of selecting multiple files over bluetooth.... and i am still adding contacts to the senders list for an sms individually throught he addrecipients or edit recipients option...isnt there an option to mark recievers at one go as in normal phones..? this gives a big headache while sending sms to many people..i am currently using handscent sms but wanted to know if sony did provide a bug fix for th same,
I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)
