Nokia Nseries :: Adding Support For More Music Formats?
Jan 15, 2012
adding support for more music formats? I was reading about the hardware specs of my N8, and I found out that it has a broadcom chip. This broadcom chip comes with some hardware support to many audio format, being more specific, flac. This format is very acclaimed by the audiophile community, without saying I'm one of them. flac is a excellent format since it is a lossless format. Now, knowing this, why Nokia don't add flac support to the default music player? the chip itself support it! What do you guys think about it? How can we suggest this to Nokia?
I found that my N8 cannot play mpg files, which to me seems like a huge limitation.Which media formats does it support, and are there any way to increase the number of supported formats without resorting to tedious converting software?
how to remove the songs in All Songs WITHOUT deleting them. I'm using C2-01 and i've about 70 ringtones and 177 songs I don't want the ringtones in the all songs and I know creating playlists would help but i'm searching for other optionsYouPress the 'Accept Solution' icon if I have solved your problem, 'Kudos' my post
What is and what does that application. Can I uninstall? I need the phone goes fluid. It is always slow and the only solution given is a 'Hard Reset'. We can not be doing 'Hard reset' every week.
How to read different Indian languages in Nokia 701, egg like Hindi or Malayalam etc. Especially in Social or other multimedia's. Now it comes as boxes. Do we need to download any software application from nokia or third party.
Does the 700 with Belle have a lot of language support builtin or is it like s60 Symbian with regional packs? If so and you want a language not on the phone how do you obtain it and install it on Belle?

While browsing blogs, I found that nokia browser doesn't support unicode. I tried with Opera 10 too. Any way to see unicode fonts on Nokia N8. I tried changing the internet settings on my mobile by selecting Unicode (UTF8/UCS2) as default setting and restarted the device. Tried to download some third party tools but the mobile doesn't support those.
Nokia Ovi Music has announced 'Comes With Music' service in India. I have E72 and wanted to know if my phone will get this service. I am essentially looking at downloading music for free as part of this service.
N8 does not support changing a Bluetooth headset's volume via the phone's hardware controls and software buttons: There's no changes in volume until you reach the mute position. All volume control has to be done via the headset's hardware controls. Quite nagging if you e.g. like to decrease the volume of navigation instructions while driving with your headset on: Navigation voice hammers to your ears.
My phone is not supporting online flash player in most of the websites. So I am not able to watch videos online which requires higher version of flash player. Why it is happening? Can I get update for this flash...
I have put a lot of music on my card into sparate folders and I would like to add those folders as separate playlists into my music player but all I can see in my music player is the nokia default ringtones on mass memory. I tried to refresh music library and nothing happens.
My Nokia N8 does not seem to be able to do DTMF. This means no listening to voicemail, no using of call centers which asks to enter numeric options, no joining telephone conferecences with a pin and no remote activation of DTMF based server settings.
it can be done and all I need to do during a call is to select "Options -> Send DTMF -> Enter Manually -> * -> Y", because that is stupid. Entering 5 commands to select a single digit is rediculous. It is like saying that I can sail from Johannesburg to Cape Town because all I need is to dig a canal and then build a ship from matches. This much effort is as good as not having it and is entirely impractical during a call with various options i.e. voicemail or call center options.
i bought a Nokia 5800 xm last may. wanna know is it supports TV out? but there is no TV cable included. they said it may supported. but the box doesn't have the sticker about the TV Out components being removed, the handset hasn't been affected. so shall i connect it? if it not supported what will happen?
I just pulled my new N97 mini Comes With Music out of the sales box. I try to register to Comes With Music, and I get a feedback page saying my phone does not support Comes With Music. Imagine my surprise! Anybody else encounter this bug? I've tried again and keep getting the same message.
I have a 5800 and recently wanted to play a song. When I started the player, I got an error - something to do with the music library being corrupted. I left it to try and sort the problem for a while and then pressed STOP. When I tried later, the library was empty.I have upgraded the Music player but that also did not help. I removed the memory card where the MUSIC diretory is located and re-installed it. I have also re-booted the phone several times. From my PC I can see the directroy with all my music. All attempts to REFRESH the library on the phone fail with a message saying that 0 songs have been added. I have left it for long periods of time but still have no songs. If I locate a song with the file manager I can play it.Is there some way to delete/reset the library database and force it to re-create it?
I'm really confused here I have a E72 which I sync with a exchange server (Contacts, calendar and mail). The sync part seems to work fine. However, I would also like to sync Notes and have the ability to SMS from my computer. That's where I thought Ovi Suite came into the picture but I'm having some problems:When sending SMS from Ovi Suite: I enter name of the contact the name appears with a preview of the phone number in the format "070-783XXXX", when I try to send it says invalid format so I need to enter the number manually in the format "070783XXXX" to be able to send the SMSWhen I update a contact in Outlook, the contact is updated in phone, but not in Ovi SuiteWhen I use outlook number formats (specifying country, area code etc) the number appears as "+46 (070) 783XXXX", but then number recognition doesn't seem to work on incoming calls. What I want to accomplish and wonder if it is at all possible is:Manage my contacts, calendar and mail in Outlook. Sync through MfEReach my contacts from Ovi Suite to be able to send SMS to themUse Ovi Suite to manage Map files, Music, and other phone files.Use Ovi Suite to Sync Notes from Outlook.I'm I on the right track here? Any suggestions for a better way of managing contacts and having the functionality I've described?
