View 1 RepliesIt seems I can only pinch zoom some sites but not others. For example I can't increase the font size or zoom into yahoo.com, but I could before the Anna update.
And still no automatic resizing on zoomable sites either!
I have no problem viewing Office Words document. It can be easily moved around by dragging, pinch and zoom etc. But with the default PDF reader, Not responsive to drag. Highly resistance to pinch and zoom.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince the ICS upgrade everything is smoother but I recently noticed that the only thing that remains the same is "pinch to zoom" in images. It feels like is not using hardware acceleration or something, for example when I pinch to zoom in chrome or the stock ics browser it feels really smooth, but when I do the same from the gallery app, or camera app, it is totally slow.
View 1 Replies View Relatedupdated last night and now when i go into the calander i get the message "The process com. android.calander has stopped unexpectently. please try again." then i have to press force close. Also the pinch/zoon works fine on the internet but differently when on photos that i have taken. You cannot pinch, to zoom you have to drag your finger up and it vibrates when you touch the screen and a white streak comes up on the pic while you are draging your finger, visa verse to zoom out.

I contacted Sony Ericsson customer care regarding this, they replied go and update ur phone in service center. Too bad they didnt tell me why I was not able to update my phone.
using n8 with hdmi out (have big screen app installed) to use bbc iplayer (basically a web-based real video app, similar to Internet, but allows you to "catch-up" with previously aired bbc tv programmes in the uk).
i've started using my n8 upstairs, on my bedroom tv - so currently have no lan connections, and my n8 is the only way to watch programmes on iplayer around the house (can use my wii console for this purpose in the lounge).connectivity all seems to work ok, and manage to pair a spare wii controller to the phone to control it (big screen app functionality?).
the one thing i'm curious / concerned about is what's on my phone screen whilst watching iplayer on my tv over hdmi. normally you use the break-out / fullscreen option when watching iplayer on tv, so on my phone's screen, all the while i'm watching something, there's a web page in landscape, with a black box (about 1/3 of the screen size) of the video that's playing on the tv.
1. will this cause any damage, "burn-in" or overuse of my phone's screen to watch programmes on my tv for a couple of hours? have to say i'm not that up-to-date with usage best practices or things to avoid with things like amoled screens, just vaguely remember some concerns with plasma or lcd tv displays.
2. is there any way to blank my phone's screen whilst watching this app (bbc iplayer) on my tv? if i use the lock-key, the app stops / pauses.
I got my phone for a while now, recieve just bought a HDMI cable. So I decide to test out the N8 HDMI function, but when I connect my N8 to the TV there is no respond at all. The TV has been turned to the HDMI channel. There are no respond both in the phone and the TV plz help
View 11 Replies View RelatedI played around with the HDMI output, after installing the new version of Nokia Big Screen. The video quality was miserable (I have a 720p demo video from Philips for testing purpose). I thought it was from Big Screen application, so I uninstalled it, but there was no change.
In short the screen is way too overscan (part of menu goes out of screen), the TV output format switch in Accessories has no effect (was this active only for analog output ? can't remember and I don't have an analog cable at hand to check), but the worst thing is the video quality is horrible for a HD image, resolution seems to be low, outlines are exaggerated and the contrast is too high, like the tonal range is missing.
I tried on two different brands LCD TV displays and on one of them on both native HDMI and DVI-compatible input HDMI. At the same time connecting my PC to the DVI-compatible input and playing the same video shows a perfect image.
I barely recall that the image was very good before, but I have my N8 only ~1,5 months old so perhaps I have not accumulated much experience on this. Still, even without background, I qualify the actual image quality as "miserable". What HD? Looks worse than SD.
I am having trouble displaying SkySports video on my TV in widescreen/16:9. I am using the HDMI connection to my LCD HD TV. It displays everything full screen but when playing video from the web it displays in 4:3. I have managed to get it to display in 16:9 but I have not got a clue how I did it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I am having a very strange problem. I have been using the Situations App (formerly Nokia Situations) to automatically put my phone into offline mode, and power saving mode over night. 9pm to 6:30am.Recently the phone as started refusing to leave the offline mode in the morning. Even if I try to change the profile manually it says "Unable to change profile". The only way I can get out of offline mode is to reboot.I uninstalled Situations, and manually put the phone into offline mode and power saving mode. By the morning I had the same issue, stuck in offline mode until reboot. So it's not the App causing the problem. I've tried a soft reset, same problem still.
I also noticed that over-night (from fully charged before 9pm) to 6:30am I used about 70% of my charge. (A combination of power saving mode and offline mode is killing my battery!)I would have to go to work and immediately put my phone on charge! I.e.. 12 hours of offline + power save has drained my battery almost completely.Last night I decided to use the Situations App to put the phone into offline mode, BUT NOT activate power save mode. This morning the phone had virtually full charge and it had no problem returning to online mode.So it's ONLY if I use BOTH power-save and offline. (Tonight I will try using power-saving mode and NOT offline mode to see if it's only the power-saving mode causing the issue!)If I manually enter offline+power-save mode, and then try to return to on-line/non-power-save mode, relatively quickly, i.e.. Not over-night, everything is fine. It's only over night the problems start!
So I broke down and experimented with the mirror mode today. That was awesome. What wasn't awesome is that the screen timesout and that's it for the audio. So if I want to listen to my music, do I have to set the screen timeout for never? Is there no specific HDMI mirror mode setting for this? I looked around and couldn't find one.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust traded in my Bionic for a RAZR MAXX HD - I am trying to use HDMI mirror mode with the Motorola Smart Controller (RZ100) and BT keyboard to get me as close to a Lapdock as possible. I am on JB OTA, didn't have ICS to compare this bug to.
2 problems/bugs I have run into:
Playing video's thru any app I've tried (MX Player, Stock player, Netflix etc.) The video plays fine, sound good etc.........if I pause, stop, rewind, fast forward or exit Video app. The phone soft resets 90% of the time? After having the phone connected via HDMI cable, when I unplug the phone. I have no media sound coming from phone speakers until I reboot the phone, sound must still be trying to route thru HDMI port even though cable is not plugged in?
there is no notification that pops up showing it is in running in Mirror Mode. Should there be? Similar to how it works when placed in the car dock?
I used the camera on my phone and was able to zoom in and out before but now it wont let me zoom in and out and I tried the shortcuts that it came with but nothing works
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen switching the camera from photo to video mode, is the video supposed to be zoomed in a little more than the photo? In other words, the photo mode will take wider shots than the video mode. Is this intended or how can I fix this? It doesn't look like the video mode has a digital zoom to mess around with.

I fitted my Atrix on the multimedia dock, power connected then connected HDMI cable from the mm dock to my Vaio laptop HDMI, as I read and understood the firefox browser should be launched directly but did not happen
By the way I have the whole motorola multimedia kit.
My HDMI icon stays in my status bar after I use HDMI to my TV. It won't go away until a reboot. Does anyone know why? Is there a procedure I'm not following to disconnect cable?
