Nokia Nseries :: N8 Keeps Call Diverting - How To Deactivate
Dec 24, 2012
I have an N8. Call diverting in if Busy and out of reach r activated and cannot be deactivated. I don't even know the number that's been diverting to. I formatted my SD, soft reset, hard reset and I wanted to reinstall the software using Nokia software updater, but it seems that its not supported anymore by Nokia.
I've transferred my Points of Interest (POI) to the phone memory, I've Open the file and saved them all into the Phone, then when I go the Nokia Maps, I've create a new collection. Now, how can I select all the POI that are in the predefined "folder/collection" to the new one that I've created? One by one? That seems impossible to me. How can I deactivate the visualization of my POI in the Map? And finally, after I've defined a Route, how can I browse the map without stopping/cancel the route?
I have recently experienced an issue when trying to call to another country, and the message I get on my 920 is that I need first to de-activate my call barring. I was trying to do that, yet I can not find this option. Is this problem related to the network provider (Virgin France) or to the phone itself?
Is they way that when im in a call that i can press the left phone button to activate or de-activate the speaker phone? As i need a more convinient way of activating and de activating the speaker phone rather than pressing menu then scrolling down to the actiate option.
I just received my new N8 phone 2 days ago and have spent all day and most of the nights learning about it. I come from a T-Mobile prepaid flipphone with their sim card and live in the USA. One of the reasons I bought it was that some reviews said you could make free calls over your home wifi network.Does anyone know how to setup this up and explain it to me since I am very new?
Bought Nokia 603 yesterday and im very pleased with it. however im having a problem with it searched for it and on internet and found nothing. 603's in call volume is way too low. i have set volume to max but still if i call someone or they call me earpiece (not headphone) volume is very low.
Is there a possibility to deactivate the Nokia-welcome picture (two shaking hands after input of the PIN)? I could deactivate then welcome sound but I find no possibility to deactivate the welcome picture.
I'm trying to run NCCC on my Nokia E71 and 701.All what I received from administrators:- server name- user (device?) name- pinIphone and Android work fine with entering this settings SCCP settings have only server name parametr, username and password field in ciscovoip setting menu not available for inputI'm working in big company and modifying some cisco settings is impossible?
Recently I went on trip and set my phone to Offline - but allowed wifi connections.I did buy a microSD card. I tried removing it - same issue.Upon my return back to my home and native land - I could not make out going calls.Anyhow - now I can't make out going calls. I can send and receive txts. My data plan works. I can receive calls.I checked my call restrictions and tried check status and it said request was denied. I never set up any restrictions or passwords.I have rebooted several times. Tried the holding for 8 seconds and waiting for the 3 buzzes - no dice.
I have noticed an annoying feature with my Nokia N8: The display goes black when in a call (holding the phone to my ear). When the call is finished I have a difficulty to close the call. Is this a Nokia special feature for saving battery that can be turned off or is it an error?
I came to Symbian S60 v.5 and Symbian Anna from Sony Ericsson (UIQ3), and I have found some shortcomings on the Nokia OS. F.i. if I need to open a contact from the call log or sms - I can't see a way to do that with Nokia OS. With UIQ3 this was very easy. In stead I will have to open the contact list and find the contact there. There are still some of us who use the device as a phone, and not an mp3-player or internet browser.
There must be some bug with the low battery alarm on Nokia 700. When the phone is on a long call, it just shuts down without any alarm at all. I had this issue several times. My battery shows that it's full for about 30% or something. Then I call and have a long conversation. And the phone just dies without any alarm at all. When I try to start it again it seems that battery is drained and I have to charge it to turn it on again. When the phone is in standby and battery is starting to running low, it beeps and shows a message. However, when I am on the call, nothings is happening, it doesn't give me a message that battery is low and that it's time to connect to the charger. [code]
My old 6820 was about 98% accurate when using the voice tags (that I had recorded to make calls). The N8 has achieved exactly 0% so far. So I've set myself the task of finding out if this can be improved.Do I have to accept the artificial voice tags generated from the contact names? For example, my wife is "Looby Lou", the artificial voice is Stephen Hawking saying "Lobby Loo". So, I tried both "Looby Lou" and "Lobby Loo". I got one "No match found" and one "Ardalanish". This is about the only voice tag that I consider important; it's the call that I'll make if I have a heart attack, or a stroke. I don't want to be put through to a retired farmer in the Hebrides...
I have an N8 with Symbian Anna. I have attributed an image to one of my contacts, but this image shows every time I recieve a call, regardless of who the caller is. How can I make my phone show the right image?
I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who has asked me to take a look at their E6-00 which has a problem that when a call is received the screen blacks out instantly and therefore she can't see the caller display.
I've read elsewhere that it is an issue with the proximity sensor on the front of the device but nowhere states if there is a definitive fix for the problem.
This did not happen prior to the phone being upgraded to Anna. I have since upgraded it again to Belle in the hope that this will remedy the issue but it's still happening.
if their are any OTA updates or downloads that will sort this out or is it just a "live with it" firmware flaw?
was wondering if there is call screen lock feature in nokia belle? Because i couldn't find it any where in my nokia 701, even there is no option to edit the normal lock screen or button? Why there are bugs and such small and important features are missing in nokia's belle OS?
I have a problem with my 808 and the missed calls symbol in the status bar. Whatever I do (e.g.. deleting the missed call list) the status bar always shows the missed call symbol, although there is certainly no missed call.
After PR1.1 the dialer rotates to landscape mode on the N8, but the call screen that comes up after this, is still in portrait mode.
Yet, on the C6, the call screen also rotates to landcape mode with PR1.1 (see screenshot of C6 call screen in landscape mode) Why does the C6 call screeen rotate landscape yet the N8 does not?
I am using nokia n8,I am playing music by my earphone and I have a call, after I finished of the call by taking out the earphone the music suddenly starts again which is very nagging, especially when in office,
i am using N8 111.040.0904 symbian belle, while receiving a call ,almost all calls my phone displaying the number like (+91**********),the same format i have saved in address book with country code.Contacts are unique ,no duplicates,i have deleted the duplicate contacts.
I like NOKIA but this problem irritates me whenever i am receiving a call.
My N8 screen is going black whenever I am making calls in the bright sunlight. So I cannot view the dialler at all and unable to end the calls. This problem really annoys me a lot.
N8-00 Symbian Anna version 025.008.C09.01I'm a new user of this phone. An elementary question (this is the first touch screen or smartphone phone I've ever used, so I'm still adapting to its conventions): when I am in a call, and I move away (by error, or to consult other screens) from the in-progress call screen that has the red button to terminate the call, how do I get back to that call screen to correctly terminate the call? The user guide does not have any information on this;when I touch the "Call" link on any other screen (at the lower right-hand corner), I just get the dialer screen, not the in-progress screen. How do I find it?
Just upgraded to V40 on my 5800. Now when the phone rings I get 2 options on the touch screen:
1. Answer 2. Unlock
Neither work. I know I can use the buttons, but why have the other options on the screen if they don't work. What about the other options like silence or reject, or send message. All gone. The new version is **bleep**. Also, when I set an alarm, I can't silence it, or stop it using the touch screen. This all seems to happen when the phone is locked, but if the phone is unlocked, I get the older options.
I don't know how I'm expected to unlock my phone just before someone rings me to enable me to have all the existing options, or wake up before my alarm in order to unlock the phone, so I can snooze or stop it. can I revert back to V31?
