Nokia :: N95 Screen Is Very Dull On Main Menu - How To Turn Back Light On
Jul 28, 2010I have a N95 that has a weird screen issue. I've spent just over a week looking for an answer, searching Google and forums.The screen is very dull on the main menu, to the extent that to see any data on it you need to be in a very dark room. The screen saver however is just as bright as it has always been, brighter in fact.
I've turned the screen brightness up to full but this made no difference. It is almost as if the back light has been turned off.Does anyone know how to turn the back light on or even any resolution of this so I can use the phone during the day.

Oct 26, 2011I have a 16GB Nokia n96, and it was working completely fine till a couple weeks back the screen went blank, so i assumed it had switched itself off. I took the battery out and tried switching it back on, but the screen didn't come on. The phone vibrated once like normal on start-up, then the keypad lit up and the buttons on the slide-up bit, but nothing can be seen on the screen. I can also hear the beeps when i press different buttons, and also I could remember off by heart where my music player was on it, so i pressed the right buttons and my music actually started playing!

Jan 30, 2012Just purchased a Nokia 700 for my wife and she is very pleased with the device. When trying to add a startscreen the screen gets black and I choose the option of deleting it. Is this an error or what? I myself is using a N8 and just waiting for the Bell-update when I see how pretty my wife's phone works with Belle installed.

Oct 24, 2011My camera has stopped working on my nokia 5800 press camera button and it just goes back to menu screen. Tried camera through apps does same thing and it does not show it open also. It will not play any videos just sound. I watch bbciplayer a lot on my phone and all I get is sound it just comes up and says unable to play video or sound but I can hear the sound. Just not see the video and also vidoes what I have took on my phone done soft and hard reset firmware update.

Jan 5, 2012I left my N8 while it was updating , when i came back the screen says Nokia PC suite has stopped working but after i closed the program and opened it again the update page says "Update Complete" after that i noticed that the PC suit/Computer is no longer detecting my Phone and the Screen is already black. I tried to turn it off and On (only felt the vibration), Already tried the 8-10 seconds hold on Power button (and felt the 3 vibraions), still not working. Also tried the 3 finger thing to no avail. I felt regret for updating my N8. I shouldnt have click that update button on the Pc suit.

Mar 9, 2011I just received my N8 from repair and they changed the main chip for it with the newest software. Now it gives me black screen when calling / receiving calls. It also does this when clock has alert on.I can turn the screen on with the "unlocking slide" but this in general is extremely annoying and pointless. I was thinking to take it back to repair shop, but wanted to ask about this first here.

Nov 27, 2011When I first got my N8-00 I had no problems at all, until 6 months later I dropped it from a height of 2ft. Then I got all the problems, automatically turning off and restarting 100 times a day etc, etc. I took it to my phone supplier who replaced it with a new one, that had the new Anna software installed. Since then whenever I get or make calls the screen goes totally blank.
It is really annoying as I cannot see who is calling or if the call has gone through. I have to manually unlock the phone to attend the call. Also having problems answering the calls as sometimes I have to press the answer button 3-4 times. Finally now 3 months after having this phone it has started turning off and restarting automatically, but only about once a week, so far. I have all the latest Anna updates but these problems still persist.

Still, nothing seemed to light up, the screen was black. So I removed my battery, put it back in. The LED light turned red for a couple of minuets, then turned off but the screen was still black. Tried connecting it to my USB Cable to the computer + the charge cable, but both to no prevail. I then thought maybe my screen is just temporarily bugging, maybe a call would do the trick. I tried calling my phone, but it went straight to voicemail. (Meaning the phone is off). The LED light shows, so what could be the problem?

Aug 16, 2010I've updated my BB 8900 OS a couple of days ago. It worked fine for 1 day and then it popped up with an error message that disappaered really quickly and it go into a loop.
I tried to re-install the OS 5 and the app loader recognises the BB and the PIN is showing, but when I click next it get's stuck on "connecting with device (ARM)". The only thing the BB does now is blink its red light like morse code long-fast-fast-fast-long.

Now the screen is completely black, and its plugged in but the red light doesn't turn on and if I try to turn the phone on nothing happens (No White Screen, No Red Light, Nothing!) Like I said this phone is not very old, and it was working a couple of hours ago and had almost half of its battery power left. The problem happened after I plugged the blackberry in. I've tried searching for a thread like this but haven't found any.My 9700 just randomly "rebooted" this morning, where the screen goes black and the red led light turns on for a couple of seconds. This has happened to me before on my old 9000, where after it would then start up again. Nearing the time when I replaced it, it would do it quite frequently (and to think it just started getting really bad AFTER the 1 year warranty on it expired!). So back to the 9700, the progress bar that comes up when you're starting up the device would then come up, and sometimes load for about half an inch, sometimes only up to an eighth, before the whole thing would start again - the screen would turn black, the red led turns on, and the progress bar would come up again.I pulling the battery out for a few minutes and putting it back in but its still doing it. I then pulled it out for about an hour and its still doing it again.

When I'm trying to power on the phone, I get the initial black and white "Samsung Galaxy S6" screen. Then everything goes black and the blue LED on the top left lights up and stays on, does not flash or dim, just stays on. The phone does not vibrate or make any sound when it does this.
What I've tried to fix it:
1) Power + Volume down (maintenance boot mode) ... I've tried normal boot, factory reset and booting in safe mode, all just give me a black screen with the blue LED.
2) Power + Volume Up + Home (andoid system recovery screen) ... When doing this, the phone displays the black and white "Samsung Galaxy S6" screen, followed by a bluish colored screen with a little android guy on it, followed by the dead android guy with a yellow exclamation triangle over his head, then goes into the android system recovery menu. On this screen I can wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition and reboot and I still get a black screen with a steady blue LED.
3) Power + Volume Down + Home followed by Volume Up (Downloading screen) ... Takes me to the bluish screen warning me about downloading a custom OS. After hitting up it does not show the knox has ever been triggered. I've tried using ODIN 3.10.6 to reinstall fresh firmware (5.1.1 G920VVRU3BOG5) and after it successfully installs it, it boots to a black screen with the steady blue LED.

Sep 12, 2011Unfortunately my BB9900 past away. Black screen, Red light flashy and all the same symptoms in previous other posts. I have tried:
- Batt pull
- Chargin with Power cable and/or USB cable and pull the batt in / out
- Installing software
- Resetting with BBSAK and JL CMDer
All without any result. Only thing is: When I pull the battery and connect it with my PC, after 30s/60s I see a battery (with a red cross) in the screen. I have tried now to install the software trough "c:program filescommon files esearch in motionapploaderloader.exe" /nojvm but no luck. Is it possible to connect with other software? Where can we download software to Flash the Rom and are their any ROMS available? My guess is a software failure in the ROM.
