When the phone's on, and i try using the keypad to either to type out a text or to move around the menu, the phone hangs / keypad doesnt work. I dont know whether its the phone hanging or the keypad problem because the screen goes dark, and i cant revive it, but its still on, and i have to restart the phone, but the same thing keeps happening. I tried hard reseting my phone, that didnt work either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Mmc card had a virus that's why i am not inserting it in my phone. that's why i'm only using my phone memory... i went to a special occasion and i took many pictures. after that, my phone hangs and it's keypad doesn't work. when i slide it up, it asks my security code but i can't enter it. Others say I have to format my phone but I don't want to lose my pictures on that occasion.

My Sony Ericsson Cybershot C510a was working fine for last 6/7 months.I upgraded to latest firmware 3 months back.& it was working fine. Recently I cant use the phone because: It's keypad. It acts interestingly:
Case 01: After making the phone ON, 40/50 seconds it remains OK, but when I push the down arrow in menu list or in phonebook, It keeps going down & down.
Case 02: when I click on call end button to close anything, it closes that but opens the phonbook.
Case 03: After few minutes, it's keypad freezes/hangs & display shows nothing. I cant bring back the display(Pls note: at that time, when I open the camera slider, display cames again). When a call comes, display comes but I cant receive the call.
I tried master rest, Memory card format, Update service successfully, but problem starts after few minutes.
I left my phone to charge one night before going to bed (pulled out the charger when it finished). The next morning the phone had shut down by itself and when I tried turning it on I got white lines accross the screen. That happened for a few more times (sometimes blue or green or red lines), and after I removed and put the battery back in the following has been happening since then : Starting the phoneWhite screen with Nokia logo shows upMessage "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer". Phone hangs. If I press the shut down button, lines appear and fade out before phone shuts down.
I tried the hard reset method, but either I am doing it wrong, or it just doesn't apply here. I tried connecting it to my PC, but it is not recognised (probably because a message to select PC Suite doesn't show up). The phone is a few months outside warranty, so it is not financially wise (or viable) to send it for repairs. I am an advanced user and I'm willing to try any flashing utilities guides to restore it to working condition. Could it be the battery needing a switch? I tried removing the memory card & SIM, but the problem persists.
I have had this fantastic phone for a couple of days now but I have one minor niggle, how on earth do I switch off the automatic keypad lock ?, I do not mean how do I unlock the keypad, I mean the lock that automatically comes on when the phone is left idle, I've scoured the manual and can't seem to find it

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from an E71 to an E72. Before giving my E71 away, I had taken a backup using the Nokia PC Suite (to a .nbu file). The 2 things I care about the most for restoring in my E72 are the contacts and the messages. After restoring them from backup, I could see all my contacts, but when I open the Messaging, the Messaging UI just hangs, until I hold down home and make it exit from the list of running apps (there too .. its doesn't exit immediately about after some time...and while its running the phones not very smooth to use)
If however, it is already running in foreground when I restore the messages from backup, it runs fine, until i exit it and start it again... this has been totally a mood spoiler.. i'ven't been able to enjoy my new e72 at all yet
After changing something in the settings and exiting the menu, it still remains active (has the green circle). If I try to go into the settings menu again the screen is blank, the options and exit buttons are at the buttom but the list of options is empty.I tried a hard reset and the same thing happens . Is this a known bug?

Second problem is GPS satellite finding no connection to the satellites even for a second. When I turn on the phone, everything seems to be OK, it requests the PIN code and the battery indicator is working as well, but then I enter the PIN code, press OK, the welcoming NOKIA logo appears, then the welcoming message, then just the white screen and freezed battery indicator. After some seconds it turns off and that's it. I thought I would update the firmware or something, but to update it, I must have my phone fully turned on, I can't update it when the phone asks me the PIN code.. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my E63, when I try to download podcasts using wifi it starts, gets up to about 20% or so then the download stalls. If I 'stop' then 'resume' the download it'll get a couple % more, then do the same again.
It's set to download to my storage card, which has lots of free space, and there's nothing wrong with the wifi connection usually. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's made the app unusable.

It freezes when I shoot a picture in ISO 200 (Which I manually tune on the settings). After the hangs, I am able to exit the camera application but, pressing the shutter button won't open the camera anymore until I reboot my phone. And opening the camera from the application list (After the freezes) will only lead to the blank screen.I have already reset my phone thrice, reinstall my software and reset the camera, but the issue won't disappear.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm getting really frustrated trying to Install the Ovi Suite Installer 2.2.0.241 on my Thinkpad T400. I still have about 8G free, but the installer hangs at about 50%. I have tried to install numerous times, with and without restarting the machine., but get the same unsuccessful results. For now I have to do with the Nokia PC Suite which was successfully installed, but I really look forward to using the OVI.
I just purchased a Nokia N97 mini after having spent 5 years on Windows Mobile due to hardward and software issues. I hope I did not make another mistake by moving back to Symbian! Even when I cancel the installation, it still hangs.
