Well, there is news and maybe a reason why we are still waiting for the software update...Nokia is supposedly scrapping Maemo 5 and going with the new MEEGO. Hopefully we WILL get something by the end of the month. I really expect a lot from this mobile device and I think finally Nokia will not let us down! View 5 Replies View RelatedFor no real reason my phone has got sluggish with certain tasks, like the phone will freeze while an sms or email is coming through, sometimes when opening an sms i get a blank screen where the writing should be for a few seconds and general sluggishness.
On previous symbian devices this was largely solved by freeing up some phone memory, is it the same on the n900? df -h / in x term says 71% free. or is this normal for the phone, given i flashed it recently and that apparently made no difference
i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.

I have removed the battery and put it back in and the only response to that it the red LED light coming on for a few minutes then coming off.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently own a Xpressmusic 5530, and I can't surf the web on my college wifi network. I was able to for several months until 2 days ago when the error appeared. Now the college wifi network is a public network and requires a webpage login. Before the error appeared, i would connect to the Wifi and then log in through the webpage perfectly with the wifi.
I already tried resetting to hardware settings, reinstalling the firmware, disenabling/enabling the power saving, and setting up the ip4v address like my wifi on laptop. Nothing worked. This is my first Nokia phone and i'm really disappointed that i can't use my wifi anymore. I didn't change any settings and it just stopped working. I even went to the tech people in my college and the network specialist didn't know what was wrong.
I have been using nokia e7 for nearly a year now until two days before it suddenly went wrong. There is no sound at all from the speaker no matter I received calls or sms. I found out that when I played songs in the video, there is no sound either. However, I could hear the songs and calling, sms tones ringing when I plugged in my headphone. I have reset it *#7370# but the problem isn't solved. Is the speaker malfunction?

But now on my lumia 800 i am not getting those messages after the call/sms.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy gf 701 was freezing terribly, first she told me that the hardware keys & unlock slider not functioning just the touchscreen and the power button,this happens to my n8 sometimes, i usually restart it and its back on track, i did 2 backups (one full backup & other without phone settings and apps but everything else) with Nokia Suite ,i did soft reset ,when restarted ,same thing, hardware keys & unlock slider not functioning ,then tried hard reset, after hard reset, it acts like it's now booting up showing the dots, but soon after just shows black screen, when connected to Nokia Suite it doesn't recognise the phone, is there any way i can fix this by loading back firmware? if so what program should i use?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOccasionally, when I plug in the supplied headphones which are marked as model number "WH-101 HS-105", there is no audio heard coming through them. When I plug them in, they are detected and a message says use phone mic for calls. However, there is no audio heard coming from the music player app. If I unplug the headphones the music player audio comes out loud and clear from the loudspeaker.The only solution is to reset the phone, the headphones then work correctly and I can listen to music through them. This makes me think it is a software / firmware problem rather than a hardware problem.I sent my phone and the headphones back to my operator O2 UK and waited 4 weeks for my phone to return. They eventualy returned my phone with a note saying a new circuit board had been fitted and the phone would have a new IMEI number.The fault returned the first time I plugged in my headphones!I have looked for info on this fault on the web, but have not found anybody else with this issue to date.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe music player controls keep coming up on the lock screen. I am never using the music player but after some time, the controls start appearing on the lock screen.
I have installed the "stop the music" app and that removes the controls, but they keep re-appearing. A reboot of the phone also doesn't help.
I am on version 1.2009.44 but version 2.2009.51 is available on my N900.I go to download and it says I need to download through the nokia software updater on my PC.So I connect it to my PC suite and run software updater and it cant find anything it says I am all upto date.But I am not.any help?

I'd really like to know if there is a way that the low rez camera that would normally be used for video calls, can also be used as a webcam when I'm Skyping to my friends? But I heard Nokia has had problems withe the lennex operating system. I was told to hold off that Nokia has a totally new phone that will be introduced mid summer 2010 with a new operating system that will put Nokia back on top over iphone ect ect.

I need a phone with a good battery (I am traveling a lot of time), I need connectivity, but also multimedia (video and music), but must of all I need a very good organizer. I can not afford a phone with so much problems and I don't have time to debug it!
So, I have to choose from these models: N900, N97, N97 mini, E72, BB 9700 Bold and IP 3GS. I know that you are not fans of BB and IP, but because I am a lot in the airplane, I need the multimedia and entertainment from 3GS and the office from BB.
I bought an XR6 Turbo with a CK-100 installed, has been working great for 6 months but stopped working yesterday, I've checked all the power wires and the red wire has 12v, blue has 12v, and the yellow wire has 4.8v.
The light on the Navi wheel is not coming on anymore. I've tried holding the button in etc, normally it just turns on with the key but it's not working anymore.
i just bought an n900 and waiting for it to be delivered, it's second hand and i gather that some n900s don't accept all 3 sims but there was an update for it so now it does, is that right? if mine isn't accepted how do i update it given that it doesn't work with ovi or pc suite?

Im used to my N95 doing it no problemthe whole phone seems unfinished - a half assed job and im reading posts from people with the same issues saying "nokia is going to bring out a PC suite for the n900 that will work" and "OVI will be working soon" that date back to February
I also fully charged it overnight its been on for 4 hours and the battery is nearly flat and I have only plugged in the mini USB thingo 3 times and the input socket is really loose.No EQ on the music player?? and no ability to edit the track names/artists in the menu.The N95 not only had EQ but stereo widening and other cool features - What a step down.i can't believe it - it almost 100% useless
I have all my contacts in Nokia x6. I also did sync with OVI site. I would like to get the contacts either from the x6 or from OVI site into my phone N900. How can I get them? I did use phone switch application from N95 to x6. Don't know how to do for N900.
