I've the last version of nokia maps, but it happens always that the compass stop to work even if the icon is green and it lets me calibrate, also with other compass apps it happens.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought a new C5-03 a week ago, I installed Nokia Suite and connected my phone to download and install maps for my country (Morocco).To use free GPS I followed instructions on a topic already published here, by selecting Integrated GPS only and disabled positioning server on Application settings and also disconnecting from the net. Afterwards I used Integrated GPS and finding my position was succesful. I saved it as My Home and was happy I had a functionning GPS Phone finally. A few minutes later I tried to use my GPS but it couldn't find my position.I don't understand what happened, but it already worked once for a minute before I stopped it. Why isn't working again?What are the default settings for Integrated GPS to connect without using internet? To make sure if something isn't OK.

I just bought a new lumia 710 here in Singapore and I am trying out the offline navigation. I've already downloaded the maps here but everytime I would search for the destination, the phone keeps on searching for it "online". I thought offline should work with Lumia
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe inbuilt magnetometer on my phone seems to have developed issues. It does not work in maps. It is always greyed . In fact it should be aligned in The direction of The travel. It is always stuck at north at top. Is this a hardware issue or can it be sorted out by software reinstall?EVEN THE OTHER COMPASS APPS DONT WORK. I have downloaded compass touch from Nokia store. Anyone else with same issue? And yes, I had performed a hard reset (*#7370#) after belle refresh. Not sure whether this issue came up after this or it was there before.
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe compass is not working on my Nokia C6-01.I cant calibrate it. Even other compass apps dont work. Nokia care staff reinstalled firmware, but the issue was not solved. They said it is a sensor issue and they will check whether this is in touch panel or the board itself. I just want to know whether sensor has any role to play in a compass. The Nokia care staff has no idea of what a compass is and how it works. He didnt understand the exact problem even after I showed it. I had to grab another similar phone and showed him how it works or should work. I am fed up with the failure of Nokia phones within a year or so. This is my 3rd handset in row to have developed issues. Seems better to move on to other phones.

For example, if I'm facing north (which the compass recognizes) and turn to the right to face east, the compass actually turns to the left to point west...and vice versa. No problems whatsoever with north and south....just a 180degree reversal of east and west.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe compass in my E6, just upgraded to Belle, doesn't work at all in Maps 3.08 (not that it did in Anna, either), but does so just fine in Augmentra's excellent ViewRanger. At least it worked occasionally on the E72.Does the compass need to be deliberately switched on in Maps 3.08 in Belle?

3) How I can calibrate it, making the 360 turn, as suggested elsewhere? On what screen/menu is the function selected?
I have got a Nokia X6 and Ovi Maps doesn't allow turning on the compass.Some web sites show it as having a compass, and some don't.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with my C5,When I press "5" on my phone, my compass don't work. Normally, on my old nokia e55, the compass became yellow and after red and after my map follow the north. With this phone, press "5" do nothing. The compass stay white.Another problem I have, is that the GPS positioning will place my position on a road, even when I'm far away from any roads ( even 50 meters away ). As such, my location on the map is rarely accurate when I'm not on a road.Is supposed it is due to the new version of Nokia maps compared to my old e55. Version is v3.04 10wk32 b04.

The message could be written different in english, because i have got it in german: "Verfügbarkeit der Navigationsfunktion wir überprüft".So, what is the matter? Why it's only checking? I went out for it, had free view to the sky, didn't put my fingers on the GPS reciever.....It checked for about 30 mins now, and nothing happens.

I have N8 and my phone is up-to date on everything. Lately somewhere after the latest Anna update my GPS wont connect anymore. I have tried various things to get the GPS working but without any results so far. Some things I tried to fix the problem: - I booted to factory settings and removed everything. - Went to settings and configured the GPS settings as suggested by Nokia's troubleshoot - Uninstalled/reinstalled Ovi maps While the ovi maps just gives me the text "waiting for GPS connection" when I go to main screen I can see the GPS icon and when I'll press it it states that GPS is available. Ovi maps wont get my location even after waiting for 20mins so I dont think that it just is slow.

This is true in every app tried so far (Compass, Google maps, Google sky map). The x,y,z values for magnetic field vary in the AndroSensor app as I move the phone around leaving open the possibility that it is a software rather than a device issue. If it is software, I'd think it would be a common problem. View 8 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if anybody else is having the following issue with the Ovi Maps:Say that I need to walk to a certain destination.I first go to Find Places and I type the name of the street which is my destination. However, in most of the cases the answer is "No result found offline".I have to mention that I have downloaded the England maps on the phone.
To be honest this is very annoying as it seems the application is not able to recognize any of the destinations I am interest in (for example, as I live in London and I want to drive to B&Q in Beckton, there is no way for me to find the B&Q's address with the OVi Maps).So, I am just left with the option to look where the store is located on my computer and then manually navigate on the Ovi Map and set that point as destination.
Problem 1:
The camera doesn't work. I open the camera application with both methods (button on side and icon in apps) but it does the red dot thing in the corner for about 4-6 seconds then disappears and applications tells me the app is running. I try to go to the app but it wont go on it.
Problem 2:
The green key, dialler and contacts icon on the home screen do not work at all. I have no way of opening my dialler as there is no option for it.
I updated my firmware to v40.0.005 last week. Please be aware the problems were both there BEFORE i made the update and are still here after the update.Is there any way of doing this without soft/hard resetting. Also, does soft/hard reset mean you lose the data in an app (eg your high scores in a game like bagatelle)?
In Maps when I find a place to go to and press ok it says Waiting for GPS. And never finds it. I need to restart the phone, then it works ok, but only for one route. New navigations are not possible again.

"I have downloaded the maps and free navigation for my N95 and it works for a while. After about one minute of navigation, it asks permission to go on line and enter the shop. I say "OK". It then tells me it can not go online, even though I am connected by USB or using the wi fi.Then it stops navigation but leaves the GPS/maps running. I have used the options to visit the shop when not using navigation and on line and it tells me that no license updates are available. So, in conclusion, navigation does work on the N82 and not free of charge. Any ideas on getting around this?"

For me it just says "Turn right in 1 mile" .. no street name! It would be very helpful if this feature was included. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a nokia E71 with 300.21.012 firmware. I can not call over VOIP/SIP if there is only an EDGE data connection availible. I activated "allow voip over WCDMA" but it doesn't solve the problem. It allways says "unable to register to service".
VOIP/SIP calls over 3G work fine.
Has anyone an idea how to solve that.
