The camera on my n97 mini often freezes. When this happens, the display is all blacked out. The onlu way to get rid of this is to restart the phone. Sometimes a restart is not enough and the battery has to be taken out for a while.Has anyone else experienced this? The firmware version is 10.0.020 and no update seems to be available.

I had the same problem 3 years ago with my SE w800i and I just had to update my phone to solve the problem. I've tried to do the same with N97 Mini, but Nokia Software Updater says, that there is no new update for my phone. My Firmware is 10.2.020.It doesn't matter if i use flash or not. The lines are on the screen when I'm trying to take a photo, not just after i take a photo. Same thing is when I switch it to video mode to record videos. Also there are much more lines when I'm trying to make a photo of TV that is turned on. I have also N95-4 (8GB) and there is no problem when I want to take a picture of the same TV. I bet it's just a software problem, but I can't update my phone, because of my ProductCode.
What can I do to fix this? I am very disappointed and if there is no way to fix it, then I think I'm gonna return that phone and probably never buy anything from Nokia. $500 for High-End phone that straight out of box is not working properly is not what I expected from NOKIA.
I bought a new n97 mini. Everything is working fine except the camera. The image looks foggy and blurred. Its not only with the camera pictures but also with the video recordings. When I do a half-press (focus), the preview looks decent but the picture taken is bad. Looks like a picture taken in a 1MP cam! I have tested some N97 mini's camera in some shops and I was impressed. Hence I brought it. But unfortunately it looks like a problem in my mobile!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My main usage is Camera and its very frustrating to see images with such bad quality!
It's done it about four times in the past week. It's usually when i tap on a button or function on screen. Today was when i tried to activate wifi on power widget after i'd turned my phone on. It's been really laggy recently as well but i do have a few apps installed. It shouldn't be resetting itself though.

Must hold down home and power to restart. Problem exists when launching from both the lock screen and home screen.

My X10 Mini Pro freezes out at the lock screen when I switch it on as it is still charging!I switched off my phone the night before and plugged it in to charge.The next morning I switched it on and it took a while to boot up but when it eventually did it would not let me past the lock screen.I then went out and when I came back, a hour later, it had died.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI experienced freezing while shooting HDR+ after the initial update, but after un/reinstalling the Google Camera, it seemed fine for a couple of weeks, but the problem has returned with a vengeance. I cannot shoot anything in HDR+ without the camera and phone freezing.
Regular photos snap fine, but when shooting HDR+, the progress indicated gets to about 2 o'clock and then image totally freezes. After a few seconds, it will close and pop up a crash box offering to report or acknowledge with OK. (I've reported it.) Sometimes it will put up a notification that "HDR+ photos are processing in the background, but if you tap that it takes you into the Photos app and there's nothing there and then the whole phone freezes. Yesterday, I noticed the GPS stuck on (was in a basement) at the same time and had to reboot the phone.
I un/reinstalled the update again yesterday and HDR+ worked for a couple of shots, but today it froze again. This is clearly an unacceptable way to manage the problem. I'm tired of missing pictures because the camera app crashes. I was at a major event last week and had Camera crash on launch for the first time. Fortunately, I was able to quickly reboot before snapping a group shot, but if I hadn't noticed beforehand, I would've had a crowd looking at me while I frantically restarted my phone because of a buggy basic app.
Rooted, stock Nexus 5, Android 4.4.2, faux123 kernel (to try and fight the terrible battery life), no GravityBox things which I've seen mentioned as possible causes.

I've recently started getting a problem where my text message program freezes if my phone turns off the screen (i.e. me being inactive for a while). When I get back again it says I can either wait for it to respond or terminate the process. If I wait it unfreezes, but it is still very irritating that it happens every time.
And who's incredibly stupid idea was it to make long SMS messages into MMS-messages? I have problems with my messages not being sent properly, or being sent only partially, all the time. Is there any way to change back so it just adds more text messages instead of converting into MMS?
I use the standard text messaging program that came with my X10 mini pro, and I'd rather not switch since I found it quite good until after recent updates when I got these problems.
the phone was purchased 4 months ago and regularly freezes and crashes when using it. The software also sometimes will perform the wrong function when an icon or button on the phone is pressed. I have tried updating the software to see if that would help but for the last 2 weeks I have been told that the Update Centre is overloaded and I can't download the new software.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I cracked my screen, changed it with OEM new parts, and worked great for weeks after the installation.Now, I'm having camera issues, back camera works fine, but when you switch to front facing camera the app freezes and crashes, and I get cant connect to camera black screen, and at this point the back camera wont work either, if you restart and clear data on camera app the back camera works again, but front facing will never work.I;m running stock rooted but I've had this issue with rooted custom roms and stock unrooted. I'm not sure if this is related to the screen change or not, but it worked great for weeks after the screen change. and, I;m having the same issue with other camera apps too, no snap chat installed nor any other apps that could conflict.

here are the symptoms i encounter:
1. video randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, the back light turns off and immediately goes back on and resumes playback. this is regardless where the video is stored.
2. online videos (e.g. from Internet) randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, video is paused and streaming is also restarted.
3. camera momentarily freezes - video display turns off and immediately goes back on as if it has recovered from an error. same is encountered when using the front camera.
also, if you know the web browser 'dolphin', it has a feature of 'keep screen on' that will keep the back light on even if there is no activity on the phone. however, since my phone is acting weird lately, the backlight of my phone turns off after some time even if the 'keep screen on' feature is enabled.
this gave me an impression that the problem must be somewhat related to the backlight or memory. but i am not really sure. i tried to power off the phone, removed the battery, removed the sim, removed the sd, but the problem still persists.
this is annoying as hell because i cannot watch videos smoothly anymore and my video calls randomly stops.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Nokia E72 and i have a lot problems with it. Phone just freezes on random time, when i unlock keyboard, sent sms or end a call. Sometimes it freezes during a call. Screen slowly shutdown and then it just turns on again. Automatically turns off when i hit it at something. I don't know what's wrong, it was on service, but they didn't fix a problem. Phone is very slow when i have saved messages. (i got them like 300) but when i delete them it's fast again. Anybody got the same problem?
