Is anyone else having issues with the Camera app on iOS 5.1.1? The app freezes on me and no screen inputs or button (home or power) inputs are recognised by the phone. Must hold down home and power to restart. Problem exists when launching from both the lock screen and home screen.

The camera on my n97 mini often freezes. When this happens, the display is all blacked out. The onlu way to get rid of this is to restart the phone. Sometimes a restart is not enough and the battery has to be taken out for a while.Has anyone else experienced this? The firmware version is 10.0.020 and no update seems to be available.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI experienced freezing while shooting HDR+ after the initial update, but after un/reinstalling the Google Camera, it seemed fine for a couple of weeks, but the problem has returned with a vengeance. I cannot shoot anything in HDR+ without the camera and phone freezing.
Regular photos snap fine, but when shooting HDR+, the progress indicated gets to about 2 o'clock and then image totally freezes. After a few seconds, it will close and pop up a crash box offering to report or acknowledge with OK. (I've reported it.) Sometimes it will put up a notification that "HDR+ photos are processing in the background, but if you tap that it takes you into the Photos app and there's nothing there and then the whole phone freezes. Yesterday, I noticed the GPS stuck on (was in a basement) at the same time and had to reboot the phone.
I un/reinstalled the update again yesterday and HDR+ worked for a couple of shots, but today it froze again. This is clearly an unacceptable way to manage the problem. I'm tired of missing pictures because the camera app crashes. I was at a major event last week and had Camera crash on launch for the first time. Fortunately, I was able to quickly reboot before snapping a group shot, but if I hadn't noticed beforehand, I would've had a crowd looking at me while I frantically restarted my phone because of a buggy basic app.
Rooted, stock Nexus 5, Android 4.4.2, faux123 kernel (to try and fight the terrible battery life), no GravityBox things which I've seen mentioned as possible causes.
So I cracked my screen, changed it with OEM new parts, and worked great for weeks after the installation.Now, I'm having camera issues, back camera works fine, but when you switch to front facing camera the app freezes and crashes, and I get cant connect to camera black screen, and at this point the back camera wont work either, if you restart and clear data on camera app the back camera works again, but front facing will never work.I;m running stock rooted but I've had this issue with rooted custom roms and stock unrooted. I'm not sure if this is related to the screen change or not, but it worked great for weeks after the screen change. and, I;m having the same issue with other camera apps too, no snap chat installed nor any other apps that could conflict.

here are the symptoms i encounter:
1. video randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, the back light turns off and immediately goes back on and resumes playback. this is regardless where the video is stored.
2. online videos (e.g. from Internet) randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, video is paused and streaming is also restarted.
3. camera momentarily freezes - video display turns off and immediately goes back on as if it has recovered from an error. same is encountered when using the front camera.
also, if you know the web browser 'dolphin', it has a feature of 'keep screen on' that will keep the back light on even if there is no activity on the phone. however, since my phone is acting weird lately, the backlight of my phone turns off after some time even if the 'keep screen on' feature is enabled.
this gave me an impression that the problem must be somewhat related to the backlight or memory. but i am not really sure. i tried to power off the phone, removed the battery, removed the sim, removed the sd, but the problem still persists.
this is annoying as hell because i cannot watch videos smoothly anymore and my video calls randomly stops.

I recently jailbroke my phone and I wasn't very satisfied with the result so i set about restoring my iphone through the settings > General > reset method. My iphone then proceeded to restart it self and reboot at which time it froze and became completely lifeless so i did a quick reboot (holding the home and lock button for several seconds hoping it might fix it and it didnt) and now hasnt started for 2 day.
Can someone please shed some advice on how i can fix this problem as the phone will load up as far as the apple symbol and then completely freezes before going to the login screen so i am unable to use my iphone full stop.
My iPhone freezes when I try to delete an app. When I hold donw the app to delete it and press the 'x', the phone freezes for 5 seconds and then the dialog box pops up to confirm the deletion. After this initial freeze, I can delete any other apps for roughly 30 minutes until the phone freezes again. I've restarted it and reset the home screen layout. I believe this happened close to or after a panic that caused my phone to restart.

The music app freezes when I play music on my iphone 4. It seems to want to skip songs and then locks up. Then only way to get it working again is to stop my playlist, close the app and then start again. This is annoying when working out. I am updated to the latest itunes and iphone OS.

1. My screen freezes at Phone App which causes home button to stop working, luckily i can make calls on the phone app. Lock screen works but swipe screen and password gets disabled which directly opens phone app if I lock and unlock phone with lock button. Phone works after I switch it off and restart. I tried restoring phone couple of times but in vain. Same problem persists.Â
2. When I make or attend calls with my EarPods on and press lock button, phone automatically restarts.

I'm trying different USB ports, restoring, etc. The past few times I've tried to sync my apps iTunes freezes, it gives me internal device errors, and I got this error where the file is not located. I have a new computer, so I started by downloading and installing the newest version of iTunes (10.6). I then hooked my iphone 4 to my computer via USB, and it automatically started to sync. While backing up and syncing, my itunes just freezes. It rarely got past step 1 of 2 in the backup process, or step 2 of 4 in the sync process. I have windows 7.

First, I tried to leave it, to see how long it would take to finish.
