HTC Desire :: Won't Boot After Soft Reset / Just Freezes
Aug 28, 2011My Desire, running 2.2, won't reboot after a soft reset, it just freezes. I've had to do a factory reset, and clear storage. After restoring all my apps and data all was well, until two days later I couldn't send texts, and I was forced to try a soft reset, which failed. I then had to do another factory reset, leaving me having to restore my phone, again. Is my phone terminally ill?

Jun 23, 2011Assume my Droid is working, and it goes to sleep after a period of disuse, or a click on the power button to put it to sleep. Then, when I click the power to turn it back on, the screen appears but none of the controls work. When I swipe the unlock icons, nothing happens. Nothing happens when any button is pressed or any screen item is pressed.If I merely pull the battery nothing works.If I pull the battery and then do a hard reset, using the X plus power kay, then a reset, the phone will work fine...until it goes to sleep, when it freezes again and the only way to revive it is to do another hard reset.I did a hard reset, and cleared all of my user data...but still the phone froze after it went to sleep.This happens whether or not the 16 GB data chip is pulled.It happens with a fully charged battery as well as using the power cord.Finally, I did a factory reset and wiped out everything, so that I was starting with a new default system and a new activation.The phone started up fine...and I could access the factory-installed apps...but when it went to sleep it froze again. When I tried to wake it I could not get by the home screen.I had this problem starting a few days ago. Then it seemed to go away. Then a day later it started again.Why does going to sleep kill a phone that otherwise works perfectly?It can't be any add on apps, because there are none.

Aug 22, 2010I recently jailbroke my phone and I wasn't very satisfied with the result so i set about restoring my iphone through the settings > General > reset method. My iphone then proceeded to restart it self and reboot at which time it froze and became completely lifeless so i did a quick reboot (holding the home and lock button for several seconds hoping it might fix it and it didnt) and now hasnt started for 2 day.
Can someone please shed some advice on how i can fix this problem as the phone will load up as far as the apple symbol and then completely freezes before going to the login screen so i am unable to use my iphone full stop.

Mar 16, 2012My iPhone freezes when I try to delete an app. When I hold donw the app to delete it and press the 'x', the phone freezes for 5 seconds and then the dialog box pops up to confirm the deletion. After this initial freeze, I can delete any other apps for roughly 30 minutes until the phone freezes again. I've restarted it and reset the home screen layout. I believe this happened close to or after a panic that caused my phone to restart.

Dec 8, 2014I am using iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.1 on it. I encountered two problems after updating to iOS 8.0.Â
1. My screen freezes at Phone App which causes home button to stop working, luckily i can make calls on the phone app. Lock screen works but swipe screen and password gets disabled which directly opens phone app if I lock and unlock phone with lock button. Phone works after I switch it off and restart. I tried restoring phone couple of times but in vain. Same problem persists.Â
2. When I make or attend calls with my EarPods on and press lock button, phone automatically restarts.

I have a new computer, so I started by downloading and installing the newest version of iTunes (10.6). I then hooked my iphone 4 to my computer via USB, and it automatically started to sync. While backing up and syncing, my itunes just freezes. It rarely got past step 1 of 2 in the backup process, or step 2 of 4 in the sync process. I have windows 7.
