Nokia :: N97 / How To Move Ovi Maps On To E Mass Memory?
Jul 13, 2010
I am trying to free up some memory on my N97 phone and would like to move Ovi Maps on to the Mass Memory. Deleted Maps and re-installed but Ovi does n't give me the option to install on E drive
I have the phone Nokia N97. At the begining, I saved my messages on the phone memory. Sometime, I switched the place that there messeages will save to the mass memory. So now I have messages on the phone memory and on the mass memory too. How I can move the messages from the phone memory to the mass memory?
I need yr help to tl me how to move my app from phone memory to the memory card !!! cuz right now i have only 1.7 MB free memory and i cant receive any thing through the bluetooth !!! so do know how to move these appl to the memory card !!i didnt choose to download these appl in to the phone memoryit just went there automaticly when i downloaded them from the SW update !!!and my phone is nokia 5800 xp
I've bought a Nokia N95 8GB.Now I have a problem with mass memory, such as problem"Mass memory not available".Please advice me!I used all codes which reset software of phone, used "green button+3+*", no luck.
There is no way to install nokia apps (maps, messaging, point and find, etc) in the mass memory of the n97 ?There is simply no space in n97's c: to install all of nokia apps and e: has a lot of gb !!! I understand that the apps will operate slower if installed on e, but really there is no alternative! And if there isn't, is there at least an option for nokia messaging to store its data on the mass memory? It is one of the best nokia apps/services, but using it with 5-6 mailboxes means that I will not have free space on c and memory errors start to appear...
I need help! I have problem when i wish to format mass memory on my n95 8gb.I uninstall all applications from mobile so app manager is totaly ampty, Nothing is inside...Problem start when i wish to format mass memory using phone. There is worrning, that some application is still runing ?! and asq me am i shure. And it format it. I don`t like that advisory, and wish that he format mass memory without that. I think that i tried allmost everything.
1. hard reset my phone
2. reinstaling the firmware (it is 35.0.001)
3. i tray to format it on my pc wit quick format
4. normal format.
But in bouth case, when i formated mass memory on my pc (windows 7), and tray to format it again using my phone, first time is ok without any warning about runing application. Second time there is warning.
I think my N97 is playing up. I cant take photos as it says my E drive is full which is nonsense as I only had 5 pics on there no music or video!. When I went to file manager it wont let me access the mass memory as it says "memory in use". I thought if I synced it up to my Mac i could somehow get into the E drive and see what the problem is but low and behold its not compatible. I've had a look on here for Mac versions and theres lots of people talking about it but no links or descriptions as to where I might find it!. I sync is useless as this just does calendar and notes. I need something that will let me access everything on my phone.
when i try to backup my phone on the mass memory, it gives me two errors:first one is the usual, file manager, memory full, close some applications and try again.the second is this, operation aborted. another operation is in progress. try again later.Do you want to get all the firmware updates for your phone? Get a SIM-free one!
i gave my n97 to nokia care .. for usb problem .they cured it but what i found was that after they updated my s/w to 22 version ... my mass memory is not working and even no memory card is detected,
I'm attempting to use Map Loader 3.0.28.0 to load Maps onto my N97 Mini ( software version 10.0.020, 14-10-09 ), on which I have installed the latest Maps version ( 3.03 10wk01 b05 ). I've run this Maps more than once, and the cities folder exists on my E: ( Mass Memory ) drive. There is no 'F:' drive ( i.e. no memory card ). When I connect my phone to the PC, I start it in PC Suite mode. Using PC Suite 7.1, I am able to interact with my phone.
When I start Map Loader, it says 'You have connected at least one phone without a valid Maps drive. Either you are using an old Maps version - then you must update your Maps application or reconnect your phone in mass storage mode - or you have never started your Maps application - then you have to start the Maps application once and restart Map Loader'. Connecting in Mass Storage mode does not seem to help.
Don't know how but suddenly all applications installed on Mass Memory (E have disappeared from 'Applications' . Can someone please guide what causes this and how it can be fixed ?

My mass memory is showing that it is in use even when it is not connected to any device or gadget, It all happened when I formatted my Mass Memory via PC in mass storage mode !!Format was successful but when I ejected 701 from PC the Default file manager was still showing that the mass memory is in Use. I tried everything from updating my software via Nokia Suite to re-booting my device a multiple times and also removed the battery many times and also I Hard Reset my device many times but to No avail .
Not sure what the problem is, but I think it's a problem with my AV software or something else on my PC or an app that's on my phone, rather than a hardware problem.A few days ago I started having problems accessing the memory card via my PC when my phone was plugged in. A restart of both fixed it on all occasions, now even that doesn't work.It shows up in My Computer but when I try to open it my PC tells me to insert a disk into drive I.It has worked without fail in the past , because my AV software used to flash up a warning that Autorun has been disabled for that device.
It seems my n8 has died after getting wet in my pocket while i was on my motorbike. So I was thinking whether there's anyway to recover the pictures and other media from the internal mass memory of the n8?
N8's Phone memory is only 250MB. The default memory for storage mails and other stuff is phone memory. How can I switch to MASS STORAGE or MEMORY CARD. specially mailForExchange msgs?
trouble retrieving files that were accidentally deleted on the mass memory. I have tried all sorts of file recovery programs but they DO NOT read the mass memory. They can't even see it as a drive on the computer whenever I connect via usb cable. what I can do to get those files back.I wish I saved them to the memory card..
Looking at my Installed Applications on my 5800XM I realised that there are the following two entries:
Nokia Maps 9MB
Ovi Maps 7MB
Are they supposed to be both there? Shouldn't the Nokia Maps application have been overwritten when updated to Ovi Maps? Can I manually remove the Nokia Maps application to free these 9MB of C: memory?
I have the Nokia N97.I have a lot of SMS on the C memory and a lot of SMS on the E memory. How I can move the SMS from the C memory to E memory that all the SMS will be in E memory?
Disk error - cannot complete write retry or data will be lost.I tried to format mass memory but didn't work can't format. Showing same error continuously can do anything.also tried hard reset didn't work.
Just bought Nokia Lumia 810 (T-Mobile) and downloaded the maps - the internal memory is ony 8gb. With OS and the Maps it takes up considerable space. Is it possible to move the map to the SD card? If yes any link or steps to do the same?
For using Nokia Drive - is it mandatory to download the maps? Just wondering how Google Navigation / Maps work for Android as I don't recall d/l any maps on Android!
I test drove the Nokia drive on couple of known locations and both times the paths chosen were uncommon - when comparing to the inbuilt GPS in the car as well as with Google Navigation! This was US maps. I hope Nokia Maps / Drive gets better.
I am using nokia 5530 and recently i am in a big problem i dint know that my all msges are getting stored in the phone memory and now i want to move them to memory card is there any way i can do it?
