Nokia N97:: Does Not Connect Automatically To Wifi Network?
Jul 8, 2010
I have a Nokia N97, which having a mobile Internet connection, which I only want to use when I'm not near my different wifi network. But it does not connect automatically, and it always selects my mobile connection, why?
How do i make N97 mini connect to wi-fi automatically when i'm at home and packet network (3G etc.) when no wi-fi is available? Also how to make it prompt before connecting to packet network, as i get charged for it? This phone has got a mind of its own at the moment, Facebook widget tries to connect to packet network even when an existing wi-fi connection is extablished (and spotify is using it). I get a beep every time it fails. In fact ALL widgets try to establish a packet connection when there's no need and i simply cannot change any settings to make this device work sanely.
I have a Nokia 700. Upgraded to 112.010.1404 via Nokia Suite as soon as I got it. I have set my WiFi network as the highest priority. I can connect to my WiFi network, yet after a while of inactivity the phone starts using 3G data again. I go into the WiFi networks and see that my network is listed as "Known" but not "Connected". I have to manually select it to re-connect.Power saving mode for WiFi is set to off.Is there a setting to automatically connect to any known WiFi network when in range? I am happy to manage battery life by manually turning ove WiFi when not needed.
Is there any way to connect to the VPN Network automaticly?I'd like to use my WiFi a little more comfortable without the need to always switch it manual on and put in my password.
When I'm at home my iPhone 4s will not connect to my wifi automatically I have to enter the password every time it's only started doing this but as soon as I'm away from home it goes to 3G then once get home should connect to wifi but doesn't even if I put password in then turn airplane mode on it wouldn't reconnect to wifii would have to enter password again
after I update my Iphone 4 to 5.1.1 I can't connect to the wifi automatically. All the time when I turn off the wifi from the phone I need to type the wifi code again.
there seem to be a bug that I dont seem to be able to find out how to fix, the problem is that i dont want the phone to connect to a wifi network everytime it recognizes one, basically i have few prefered wifis that i use, but i do not want the phone to connect to them automatically. what i already tried is disabled wifi scanning, filtered out those networks that i dont want it to connect to automatically - still no luck. What i wouldnt like to do is delete the networks to enter the password everytime i want to connect...isnt there an easier way around, at least for the phione to ask before connecting to the wifi...
why does my phone automatically connect to my wifi when i go to my hotmail account which means i cannot get my emails whilst outside and i get no alerts for new emails
After I updated my Xperia Z3 to 5.1.1, connecting to the wi.fi became a problem. The mobile doesn't connect automatically to my wi.fi. It shows the there is an authenticating problem. It connects after several times of trying. What should I do expect for software repair???
I have to manually connect to all wifi connections, even when I am at the office or at work. The wifi entry is saved, so no need to enter password, just have to click on it everytime. I already tried deleting the entry and re-entering them, no luck.
I can not get my galaxy s5 to automatically connect to 4G after being connected to wifi, the smart network switch is activated however it doesn't make any difference. the only way for me to reconnect to my network is to restart the device.
I'm a new android user. The problem I'm having is that when my wifi drops out or if I come home the Internet on my phone does not switch back from mobile data to wifi. I'm with bigpond and I have put the password into my phone and I don't need to put the password in each time but when I go to wifi settings it says sign in required and I press connect and the wifi turns on. As soon as I come home or the Internet drops out it switched back to 3G and doesn't connect back to wifi unless I do what I mentioned above.
The advanced setting on the wifi are Proxy-none Ip settings DHCP Signal strength- very strong Security wpa2 psk
I also have the smart network switch toggled to off. I have reset my telstra router.
I've wasted a lot of my mobile data this week before I realised that when I left the house or the net dropped out my phone was staying on 3G and not switching back to wifi the way my iPhone and every other phone I've owned did.
How can I make WiFi connect automatically to my router why do I have to tell it to connect every time I can not see any auto settings Also seems to drop off after about 30 Min is this power save?
Okay so there's this WiFi network at school. It is unsecured, and my teacher always connects to it. On my iPhone 3G it never shows up, though after I scan for networks using Stumbler (Stumbler says it's not hidden btw) it appears in the settings. So I click on it and it says "Cannot connect" (or something along those lines) and after the third try it disappears again. I tried using SpoofMAC to spoof my mac address to 11:11:11:11:11 and that didn't work.
Tried to connect to wifi through my router at home. While the phone listed my home network as a saved network QWD-59989 WPA2 Personal, it fails to connect. I get a message to verify saved network's security settings, but I do not know where to find the settings. Also, what is the passphrase - is it the router key?
I had my phone linked to my home WiFi network, then I switched internet providers and temporarily had different WiFi credentials so I clicked "forget this network." Now I have set up my WiFi with the same SSID and Password as before but my phone won't auto connect.
I cannot connect to my wi-fi network. The phone finds it but when I choose it, it simply tells me that it is unable to join the network. I am thinking it is a password issue but the phone never asks me for my password. The wi-fi is locked so it needs a password. I do not have this problem with my laptop or my Ipad so I know the wi-fi network is working correctly. I just can't figure out how to get the phone to ask me for my password. It should do it without any prompting, but for whatever reason it does not.
IPhone won't connect to a wifi network, just get a message saying it won't connect to the network (it doesn't give me a message that I've got the password wrong). Other devices do join the network, What should I do to try to resolve it?
I have set up my new iphone but it won't connect with any wifi network. I have reset the phone and tried typing the password more slowley but nothing is working.
My phone will no longer automatically connect to saved WiFi networks. It knows they're there, because if I go to Settings -> WiFi, it shows up in the list as a "saved" one. Tapping on it and selecting "connect" does nothing. I have to turn off the WiFi and turn it back on, and it will then automatically connect.
Additionally, WiFi will not stay off. If I'm some place I don't want it to connect to WiFi, I turn it off so that I don't get messages that networks are available (specifically when I'm driving, it's really annoying to deal with that over Waze).
I've got a Sprint GS5, running stock (not rooted), on 5.0. No updates available for the phone. It does this on every WiFi network I have saved (home, school, and school apartment, among others). I've also tried turning Smart Switch off and on, it makes no difference for either issue.
I've had a Curve since March and loved it. However this past month I've been having difficulty accessing wifi with it, something that was not an issue for me before. I'm with a data plan that isn't full data. I can only use Twitter/Facebook/IM Services. No email or browsing. When I want to use these things I connect to my home wifi and use that. Worked perfectly for the first few months. However now when I click email or browser on my phone with wifi turned on and it says it's connect to the network I get the following message:You are currently on a service plan that requires a Wi-Fi connection to this this application. If you want to use this application outside WiFi provider please contact your service provider.
I'm travelling and networks working on other phone will not connect with mine. It views them and allows me to put in the password, but the actual connect button is grayed out.
