Jul 1, 2011I have a 8510 Curve and use 3G most day, but I want it to automatically connect to Wifi when I am at home, and disconnect 3G. How can I do it?

Apr 11, 2012When I'm at home my iPhone 4s will not connect to my wifi automatically I have to enter the password every time it's only started doing this but as soon as I'm away from home it goes to 3G then once get home should connect to wifi but doesn't even if I put password in then turn airplane mode on it wouldn't reconnect to wifii would have to enter password again

This phone has got a mind of its own at the moment, Facebook widget tries to connect to packet network even when an existing wi-fi connection is extablished (and spotify is using it). I get a beep every time it fails.
In fact ALL widgets try to establish a packet connection when there's no need and i simply cannot change any settings to make this device work sanely.

Apr 16, 2012there seem to be a bug that I dont seem to be able to find out how to fix, the problem is that i dont want the phone to connect to a wifi network everytime it recognizes one, basically i have few prefered wifis that i use, but i do not want the phone to connect to them automatically. what i already tried is disabled wifi scanning, filtered out those networks that i dont want it to connect to automatically - still no luck. What i wouldnt like to do is delete the networks to enter the password everytime i want to connect...isnt there an easier way around, at least for the phione to ask before connecting to the wifi...

Apr 14, 2014I'm a new android user. The problem I'm having is that when my wifi drops out or if I come home the Internet on my phone does not switch back from mobile data to wifi. I'm with bigpond and I have put the password into my phone and I don't need to put the password in each time but when I go to wifi settings it says sign in required and I press connect and the wifi turns on. As soon as I come home or the Internet drops out it switched back to 3G and doesn't connect back to wifi unless I do what I mentioned above.

Ip settings DHCP
Signal strength- very strong
Security wpa2 psk
I also have the smart network switch toggled to off. I have reset my telstra router.
I've wasted a lot of my mobile data this week before I realised that when I left the house or the net dropped out my phone was staying on 3G and not switching back to wifi the way my iPhone and every other phone I've owned did.

Aug 22, 2015My phone will no longer automatically connect to saved WiFi networks. It knows they're there, because if I go to Settings -> WiFi, it shows up in the list as a "saved" one. Tapping on it and selecting "connect" does nothing. I have to turn off the WiFi and turn it back on, and it will then automatically connect.
Additionally, WiFi will not stay off. If I'm some place I don't want it to connect to WiFi, I turn it off so that I don't get messages that networks are available (specifically when I'm driving, it's really annoying to deal with that over Waze).
I've got a Sprint GS5, running stock (not rooted), on 5.0. No updates available for the phone. It does this on every WiFi network I have saved (home, school, and school apartment, among others). I've also tried turning Smart Switch off and on, it makes no difference for either issue.

To my surprise my call history appeared on my new phone...to my even bigger surprise when I got home it connected to my home WIFI automatically even though it is Password protected. How this sort of information is getting transferred, I don't think it is my sim and I am slightly concerned it is getting stored on the BES server.

However, as I turned off the battery to insert the SIM and connected agian I no more accessed WiFi. Nov 8, 2011My blackberry can connect to the net using data but I can't connect using wifi. This only happened recentley and before I was connecting using wifi and there was no problems. On the main screen it displays the name of the wifi that I use but when I try and load a page using the wifi it says it is unable to connect and if the problem persists to contact the service or network provider. I have hard reset it a few times by taking out the battery when its on and I have also reset the network but it still doesn't work.

Aug 8, 2011I recently bought a curve 9300 but I cannot connect to my home wifi, everytime I try it locates it and shows there is a good signal but I get a message saying "failed to associate with the network".I have entered the WEP key a dozen times with and without spaces so I'm very sure it's not that.I've attempted several battery pop reboots recommended by other forums.Everything else on the phone works fine, I'm receiving emails no problem, I have been using the internet, BBM and facebook fine and I have been downloading apps from the app world.I have also received a message from blackberry saying "your handheld has been registered with the wireless network".

Apr 5, 2011I recently got a new blackberry curve 8520 and it connected to my home wifi when I bought it, but since I inserted my new orange sim I can no longer connect to any wifi, including home network. The phone will not connect to wifi with or without a sim.
I have made a search for a fix on google and tried different things, but nothing worked. I can only choose hotspot browser as my default browser, I have no other option available.
