Please need help. Does my music player playlists will be lost after firmware update from ver. 20 to ver. 21.o.045 or not and please if anybody knows where those playlists files located on my n97 drive.

After updating to firmware v50, my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic music player is not working anymore. The phone won't stop refreshing the music library. I got 900 songs in my memory card and the music player not adding even one song to the library.

View 1 Replies View RelatedCould someone tell me how to save the Playlist's created in the Music Player of a Nokia 5800 to a PC ? Every time I have to format my phone (apparently something goes wrong all the times), lose the playlists n its a headache having to search n add all the songs to a playlist, especially wen there are over 24 hours of music.
I tried Ovi Player but it scans the phone n says tht there are no playlists in the phone whereas I have created about 7 playlists in my music player. My Msic folders would not change in my memory card so saving n restoring these playlist would save me loads of time by not having to create them over n over again.
My Software version is v 40.0.005
Custom version - 40.0.005.C04.01

I am trying to play them using the default music player, which I belive is the only player that can show up on the home screen. I can create my own playlist, but it looks like I have to add songs one by one to the playlist, which is a huge pain.
If I use "all songs", then some of the garbage ringtones and mp3s that came with the phone also get included.
So how do I add a large amount of songs to a playlist?
On a side note, the default music player doesn't support OGG files. How do I enable OGG support on default music player?
1. I recently updated my Nokia PC Suite with my phone connected to computer as I wanted to save time. But following the update I noticed the Playlist had disappeared. The problem is that I have thousands of songs and it took me a long time to sort these songs. I don't want to go through it again. I can see the playlists names only (no songs) in computer as they were when I connect my phone to PC Suite but not on the phone.
2. I went to great lenghts to unlock my phone just to get updated software. I am currently on v30 and wanted to update it to v40. But after unlocking my phone I found my phone still does not show updated software.
after i had updated my n97. most problems temporarily went away for about 1-2 weeks. now my phone cannot answer calls. cannot play music through the loud speaker. alarm does not work. basically anything that has to do with sound does not work. it shows that my phone has headphones connected but there is none connected. i formated the phone, did a hard reset, re installed the latest software and still the problem continues. after having nokias for the past 10 years. i am happy to say that i will never purchase another nokia again. nokiaz flagship phone has drove most of thier loyal customers away. the n97 is one of the worst phones ive ever had with respect to software

When i click on Menu and then 'Photos', Menu disappears and im going back to the Home screen (idle), of course tried switching off and on, removing the battery, nothing helps. Then i found out that 'Photos' can only be opened in horizonal mode (opening the keyboard). In horizonal mode i can click Menu and then Photos, the 'Photos' is opened perfectly. (switching back to vertical seems ok, Photos stays open)

For the moment I have the firmware 30.0.011.When I check with my mobile if there are new updates, then it says there are no new updates available. When I ckeck on the nokia website with my productcode, it says that I can update to the new firmware. When I connect to my PC (Vista Ultimate 64bit), then it finds the new firmware and wants to update my mobile. During the update, it shuts my mobile down and then gives the error message that he can not find the device. So I disconnect my mobile, restart it and reconnect it. After this I choose to try again with locating my mobile, he finds it and starts with updating again till the part where my mobile is turned off again. So I keep getting stuck in this loop.Anybody knows a solution for this?

By adding the simple rule to not include anything played in the last "x" number of days, any song played would disappear from the playlist. In other words, once you play it, it no longer fits the requirement for the playlist, so it drops off, creating a continuously updating, self-contained playlist. I just noticed that my iPhone 4 no longer does this. The playlists do not update until they are synced in iTunes.
After updating firmware with V50.0.001 version, I tried a lot to update music player with new tracks but I didn't get any track updated in my 'all songs'. even not in 'recently addad'.

I have read the official support page which told me to first make a backup from phone memory to memory card, take out the memory card, and THEN make the firmware update, put the memory card back in, and restore memory from card. I did all this and now all my business notes and all my business contacts are gone. Were they not stored in the 'phone memory'? Or did the website fail to say that notes and contacts will NOT be saved from phone memory to memory card when one performs the backup? And no, I don't use Windows, so I cannot synchronise contacts and notes and calendar. I have always made a backup from phone memory to card. Did I just find out that the people at Nokia are just a couple of mumbling amateurs who tell their clients to 'make a backup of the phone memory to memory card' and then fail to mention that some things are NOT backed up in this process? Suffice to say that I am very, very, extremely angry at Nokia now.

When I sync, I sync everything, not specific playlists. Both playlists remain in my playlist section of iTunes. To further troubleshoot the problem, I synced my old (but still loved) 80GB iPod Classic. The playlists remained on my iPod Classic. how to get my "Recently Added" playlist back on my iPhone?
