i jus want to know if other people are also experiencing my problems. i'm not going to touch every no97 music player issues. i'll tell you one at a time. well here it goes, when i've about 400 songs in the music player and i decide to delete one in the list, the list(playlist) takes 3 mins to refresh.
View 7 RepliesHow to refresh the playlist in the player? Some files are removed from MicroSD card long time ago but I still see it in playlist. Moreover, there were sound files of GPS-navigation. Files .nomedia I put in the media folders.

this is what i did
1) Refresh(didn't work)
2)Delete Private data under E:/private
3)Removed ALL songs and put them back in(didn't work)
4)Removed ALL songs again and put 10 songs in (to test if its just taking time to reload) and that didn't work
3) Soft restart(didn't work)
4)Hard restart(didn't work)
I'm out of idea's and how i have 0 songs in my music library and its making me mad.

I have bought new Nokia 5233, two days back. And I have inserted a 2GB Micro SD Memory card to it. When I tried to open the Music Player, it showed only some 70 songs, instead of 172 which the Memory card had originally in it.I tried to Refresh the Music Player, initially it showed that files are been loaded.But after about 50 songs the device hanged up there.I tried to cancel the process, but it didn't respond anything. The Screen got struck and I have to switch-off mobile and start it again to resume it into operation. I tried to pull out the Memory card and insert it again, but the songs are not getting populated in the Music Player.

I am trying to play them using the default music player, which I belive is the only player that can show up on the home screen. I can create my own playlist, but it looks like I have to add songs one by one to the playlist, which is a huge pain.
If I use "all songs", then some of the garbage ringtones and mp3s that came with the phone also get included.
So how do I add a large amount of songs to a playlist?
On a side note, the default music player doesn't support OGG files. How do I enable OGG support on default music player?
1. I recently updated my Nokia PC Suite with my phone connected to computer as I wanted to save time. But following the update I noticed the Playlist had disappeared. The problem is that I have thousands of songs and it took me a long time to sort these songs. I don't want to go through it again. I can see the playlists names only (no songs) in computer as they were when I connect my phone to PC Suite but not on the phone.
2. I went to great lenghts to unlock my phone just to get updated software. I am currently on v30 and wanted to update it to v40. But after unlocking my phone I found my phone still does not show updated software.
I am using Nokia 5800 Xpress Music which is updated to v5. My problem is the music player refreshes too long and doesn't detect tthe songs I have saved in my memory card. I have deleted some files in the 3 folders contained in the private folder to reset the library. After I have disconnected it from the computer I start the music player again. Then it refreshes to long again and did not detect any songs. What can I do? Is there any other way?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I refresh library in the N97 music player it doesn't find new tracks. I have tried deleting files in the Private folder, the playlists and tracks dissappear but then when I refresh it just finds the same 232 that were there before and not new one I've added. I had to do a hard reset when the phone wouldn't switch on and that fixed the problem, however once I connect the phone to my computer in Mass Storage mode and the problem occured again. I have done a soft and hard reset and the problem persists.

View 9 Replies View Relateda few months ago, as I put a newly bought 8gb micro sd in my n97 mini, on which I had copied all the folders from my previous micro sd, the audio player bugged: I couldn't refresh the music list anymore, and couldn't see the musics of the micro sd. The memory card was fine since there was no problem for pictures etc.Since then I tried everything... soft reset, hard reset, other memory cards, musics on the internal memory of the phone... my firmware's updated (v30.0.004), never used a hack or anything like that, all updates made from nokia suite.By the way, the message displayed when I refresh the musics from the audio player, it says (in French) Operation cancelled: file corrupt.

Phone restarted by itself, after that I turned on music player. I saw message that Looking music and podcast etc. Now this message just stays there forever. But when i disconnected the phone from my computer the playlists were still present. I believe that playlists aren't stored on the sdcard. delete these playlists. View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, after fooling with my phone and checking out all the cool new things it can do after the GB update, I have finally found a flaw, at least on my phone. In the past when listening to music, either with the car dock or headphones or hooked to my speakers at work, whenever I paused the stock music player, it would always keep the playlist current and I could pick up where I left off. Even if I just shuffled all songs. Now when I shuffle all and come back to it later or the next day, it either doesn't show any music as queued or will show the song, but when I hit play, it just takes me to the music player home screen. I also have winamp installed and it does not have a problem keeping my songs in the list. I like to use the stock music player because I can pause or FF a song without having to unlock the phone. Nifty feature being able to see the song playing and having those options on the lock screen. Why is my music player losing the song list? On a side note, winamp remembers what I was playing even after a reboot, but it does not show up on the lock screen.

I just want to add some songs which location I know. searchin for one bl**dy song between 2000 other tittles is just ridiculous. Options provided by SE vivaz pro symbian software are just useless. Its easier to remember name of folder containing 100 songs than to learn by heart 100 tittles with artists names. The song title and artist does not display when streaming music from Nokia Music on my Windows Phone through my car stereos' bluetooth connection. It also does not allow me to skip songs using my car stereo.

Songs are present and correct but the folder will not update (i.e. I deleted a song but the number on the folder does not show this change or I removed a specific genre but that genre folder remains)- I have seen this issue with a number of Nokia music player phones and was wondering if anything was ever resolved, There was a workaround for the 5800 (show hidden folders and delete a load of .dat files) but this does not work for my C7 with Belle?

How can I re-install music player in phone to get that option? I have lots of music in phone, but it cannot find anything. Everytime when I open Music Player, it search for music, then says nothing found.

If I go in the Music Library, in the Options menu I have:Go to Now playing Go to Music store Music Library Details I've just synched my phone with iTunes by using Nokia Multimedia Transfer, and the files have been copied on my memory card under Sound filesiTunes Music and they play correctly from the file manager, but there's not way to "see" them in the Music Library. View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to add just one new song onto my N97, it was a song that I heard on the radio and liked so I purchased it on iTunes added it to a playlist and transferred it to my N97 using NMT. This all went fine until I tried refreshing the music library, no matter what I did the refresh would not find the additional song. I checked the transfer using YBrowser and sure enough the song had been transferred and the playlist had the new song added (I could even play it in the file browser) but this would not update in the music player.
To resolve this I had to delete all 4.7GB of music off my N97 (including the playlists) using NMT then disconnect the phone and refresh the library, the music library then displayed 0 songs. Then using NMT I had to reload all of the music and refresh the library, this time it worked. As you can imagine deleting and reloading 4.7GB (thankfully I don't have more music on my phone) of data takes quite a bit of time, all to add just one new 8MB song. Outrageous!
Has anyone else experienced this?
