I had an email from Nokia today telling me I could now get free ovi maps on my n96, however when I downloaded it and then tried to install it on my phone, the phone came back with the message 'does not support sis files and cannot install'.
It'd be great to get the free maps with voice navi for my N96, even though I upgraded to the N900 only about 7 weeks ago and that hasn't got it.
I've been trying to upgrade the Ovi maps on my E75, because navigation has kept me saying that I need to renew the license. I went to Nokia web site and found out that I need to upgrade Ovi maps in order to get the free navigation. I have a 202.12.01 firmware and I installed it once again when I had unsuccessfully tried to upgrade Ovi maps. I have Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44b01 (MW OpenGL LM MN) and Map version 0.1.24.114 (OpenBitLM 6.22.5). I've deleted all old maps and started to download new ones successfully over Nokia Ovi Suite. I've downloaded Nokia Ovi Suite and followed the instructions for downloading and installing the newest version of Ovi maps application (I suppose it must be newer than the one I have on now, because navigation still wants me to buy license, I guess it must be 3.03 or higher). I've tried it several times from the scratch, just to make sure I did it right. Of course I've also chosen the right E75 phone from the drop down menu and I downloaded the file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.sis. I double-clicked it and everything seems to be right, but when action on the phone should be required the installation guide says "Nokia E75 does not support sis files". From the sis file name I can only now see that I have this version already installed.Does this mean I can not use navigation for free on E75?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently got the Nokia E-72 and after getting a new memory card just yesterday for it I am no longer able to open the Ovi Store application that was already installed on the phone. I also just installed the Ovi Suite on my computer and when it requests to install the "Support software" my phone just gives me the simple error of "Unable to install" with a red symbol next to the words. I also tried installing the Ovi Store from the web and I get the same Unable to Install error that I get when trying to install the Support Software. I already checked the "application manager" it is allows all applications to be installed. I've also tried reinstalling the software via the Ovi Suite and that doesn't do anything either. I looked up how to hard reset the phone as well, and I hold the correct buttons+the top power button at the same time while the phone is of f but it doesn't seem like it does anything when the phone comes back on.
I wouldn't mind getting the phone to go back to square one as I haven't had the phone long enough to miss much besides my contacts which I can just synchronize. So if someone could tell me a solution or tell me how to bring my phone back to factory settings I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried restoring to factory settings and the Ovi Store will still not open from my phone, it acts like it wants to (briefly flashes as if its opening) and will just go back to the menu screen. Even after restoring to factory settings I still cannot install the "support software". The phone merely says "Unable to install" and leaves it at that.
I can't solve it. My phone N82 Application Installer in courrepted I mean i can't install any sis or sisx files, that includes also themes they only acceptable applications are Java based applications every sis file get transfered to my phone the installer says File courropted I tried software updater what it did is updated everything but the problem still there "No Installing" so I want the original software and re-install it any idea how can i do that? I recently have had trouble transferring music to my N97. I keep getting message the the folder was corrupt. I eventually removed all the music from my device though there are still some files there and I can not see them using File Management. Another thing that is occurring is that every time I go the my Music Player is says USB connection active and is has been hours doing this. In fact is locks up and I have to remove the battery and restart again. When I go back to music the does the same thing again and for hours. No music is being transferred as I have checked.

The Support Software fails to install and the C Memory appears full whereas when I view device information about 320 MB is still free out of 471 total device memory.
Also downloading software completes successfully but through the application manager installing the software returns an error that the file is corrupt.
I've had the X6 16GB for a couple of weeks now and whenever i try to download anything onto it or install it through my pc i get the error message "File corrupted". This happen with the pc suite update, ovi, skype and more. Can anyone help at all? I'd really appreciate any advice at all!
