Eseries / Communicators :: E7 Doesn't Support Subtitles Or .MKV Files?
Feb 25, 2011
Apparently Nokia E7 doesn't support subtitles or .MKV files like N8 does.
Is there going to be an update for videos like there were for N8, or are we going to be left without .sub & .mkv compatibility? If there's going to be update, may I ask when?
So here's a fun problem. Minimize any application - such as Ovi store and it goes away. Is this is a problem with the Ovi Store app or a problem with Symbian Anna?
Yes, I've already updated the ovi store program. I've noted a similar problem with Ovi Maps.
I wonder if anyone here knows how to load standard subtitles files (.srt) while playing video files (like .avi) on my SGS2. There's an idle "Subtitles" button on the bottom right of the player's menu, which I hadn't been able to use. Should I try a different one from the Android market?
Does E5-00 support video out to TV through the AV cable??
I have never tried, but want to buy a cable for connecting to TV. If yes, whats the model number of the cable which will be compatible? where can i find one in mumbai.
I have been all over the web, FB'ing it to Nokia and to StraightTalk, and I am STILL unclear. I just got my E71 about a month ago and already it's saying I have used over 2 of the 4gigs that came with the phone. Don't see how, but okay. I went and got a 16GB card. A Mobile microSDHC by SanDisk. First of all, I've been getting conflicting reports that this phone will not even accept a 16GB card. Second, are there any important Apps preloaded by Nokia on this pre-installed card that I need to worry about possibly losing. I bought a bluetooth connector for my laptop, a dual-ended usb for data transfer from phone to PC and I also have 30GB of SugarSync. No adapter came with the 16GB card I just bought, but I have an unopened 4GB card by same manufacturer that does have an adapter. If this is your prescribed method, can the 16GB card go in the 4GB adapter? I really don't want to lose anything on my phone, especially none of OVI Maps, which I heard part of might be on this 4GB card. But I don't want to lose the apps I paid for either. I can't switch much to the phone memory, I have only 55MB.
E52 only supports english fonts, I am looking for Asian fonts like 1. Gujarati 2. Hindi
As it's difficult to view sms in native language. Only read in native language, don't need to write. If we receive SMS in other language, there is problem. Font must be in phone otherwise display square / blank boxes.
When I connect through the USB to Ovi Suite software the phone is recognizes but the connection is not fully established. The Support Software fails to install and the C Memory appears full whereas when I view device information about 320 MB is still free out of 471 total device memory.
Also downloading software completes successfully but through the application manager installing the software returns an error that the file is corrupt.
I've been using a Nokia E71. One fine day the phone switched off & it didn't start. As good Nokia customer I only trusted Nokia care outlets ( Nokia Care - Satya Telecare, 229 Chittaranjan Avenue, Near Girish Park Metro Station, Kolkata - 700006). After rectifying the problem, they told me that the phone had another problem of battery warming. After two days they again informed me that the handset have a network detecting problem. Its been 12 days now they have not been able to rectify the problem, also they are unable to tell me as to when the problem can get rectified. Even more, they dont communicate. When I visit the Nokia care outlet, I am made to wait for more than an hour each time.
I installed SIP VoIP 3x Setting on my phone, but I can not use Internet Call over 3G/UMTS directly like use Wifi network.I'm afraid of E72 modem do not support Data packet fully.
I have Nokia E5 handset. I am planning to upgrade it's memory card now. As per Nokia my handset supports upto 32 GBs of card (MicroSD). Now i want to ask you people that can i really use 32GB crad in it or shall i buy 16 GBs card instead? I am asking this because some of the dealers at my place said not to use maximum-supported card in nokia as it can hang or freeze the mobile. So, is it true???Also, since i can't get this card at my place i am planning to buy it from Ebay.in. I never used that site or any other site for shopping. So, is it safe and trustworthy or shall i get the card from any shop??
There's a conceptual problem in playing video streams in the E7 (or Symbian in general). There is no video player I could choose the source from except local file system. All web streams are handled by the webkit browser. The praised codec support is actually mediocre - there is no support for WMV3 for exampl
Nokia E6 with Symbian Belle Refresh which I bought just a couple of days ago.It does not detect wifi internet connections at all, although they are available. When I go to settings -> connectivity and then select wifi, it searches connection for a while and then shows that none are found. Meanwhile, my old Nokia E72 remains connected to my home wifi without any problem... I am really surprised and disappointed. Also when I try to set up the connection manually, it doesn't work at all.I can't believe that such a device is being sold, a wifi connection is something extremely necessary nowadays in a smartphone. I was so attached to Nokia but I feel like it is my last Nokia phone because this is just unbelievable
i use nokia N79 the jar files that i had installed on my phone were working fine till one day they stopped responding now i can neither uninstall them nor install any new jar files
When I try to download a file with the size more than 4-5MB (can't say exactly, but smth. like that) the downloading always get filed. It does not matter what do I use for downloading: build-in browser, opera mini, dropML etc. - the result is always the same. It seems, that it is the phone's bug. Or is this just something wrong with my phone?
On my phone phone memory automatically goes low day by day, even wifi do not install applications on phone memory. I have checked phone memory details and approx. 112 MB other files.... What are those other files and how to delete them?
I want to know if there is any junk files cleaner available for Symbian belle E7 phone. I have come to know many junk file cleaner like X-cleaner, mobile cleaner 1.8 available but whenever I want to install those files in E7, it displays that installation can not continue contact the administrator. or sometimes certificate issue comes.I know whenever I check mails or install a new apps, there are certain files which support the installations but after those files are not automatically deleted or removed from C or E drives. I have seen in the C: drive many log files and *.qf files or some other files are present.
Lately Ive been getting notifications on my Nokia E5-00 saying the phone's memory is full. When browsing through my phone memory, there are almost no files.Although I have some apps installed, there not that much of being capable of consuming all that memory. Is there any way to clean up my phone memory (besides uninstalling apps), to get more memory? Or seeing what's consuming all that space? Can I e.g. delete some MfE emails (without deleting those emails from the servers)?
I have problem with the bluetooth connection.I have paired both my devices. The result is I can send files from BB 8520 to Nokia E6 but not otherwise. When I try to send it from my Nokia E6 to BB, the steps thats happening are:1. Device is connected2. I try to send the file from my Nokia E6 but a textbox came out 'Unable to connect' which is weird when both devices has been connected successfully.
i had a problem that other files in my phone are rapidly increasing in size they have increased from 60 mb to 103 mb in two days and now my phone take so many time to process any application that i open.i want to set memory card as default memory for all application as i had saved maps, messages in memory card.I think that internet browsing has eaten my phone memory, i had also deleted all my privacy data from internet but nothing helped me.
I am using Nokia E 71 and all of a sudden I am getting alert like 'Phone memory is full. Delete some data from Phone memory to received SMS'. I haven't installed anything recently in Phone memory and storage of my SMS' is also memory card. All other programs are installed in memory card. I use to browse website heavily on my phone and I think it is causing memory to be filled up due to heavy flash work.
My Nokia e71x died, I had a ton of pictures on my SD card. The USB slot also broke so thats not an option to plug into the PC. I was wondering if I plugged my old SD card into a new Nokia E6, would it read my pictures and files? are the operating systems compataible to do that?
