They work on my friends iPhone and Blackberry and work fine on my laptop but when I put them on my N900 it sounds like its underwater and its really really distorted BUT if i plug them in half way they play perfectly
View 8 RepliesWhen I use a 2.5 (who's ridiculous idea was that, anyway?) to 3.5 converter for my e71x, and have the headphones plugged in all the way, I only get audio out of the right side of the headphones. If I plug the the headphones in just before it clicks in to place, I can get audio out of both sides but since it's not fully plugged in the sound always bounces in and out. I've used multiple converters and headsets, all of which are working properly. Is this a design flaw or do I have a bad one that I need to send in for warranty repair?

I managed to get it out after flashing the device with the vanilla image and the latest OS following the instructions on the Meamo WIKI: https://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware Flashing through windows didn't work (almost sent it to Nokia) but booting fom an Ubuntu USB stick and flash the N900 did do the trick at the end. The following images are flashed: RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin RX-51_2009SE_ 3.2010.02 -8.002 _PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin. The device seem to work OK again until I tried to enter some text from the keyboard. Some characters now seem to be inter connected: when I enter an 'a' it becomes 'oa' when I enter an 'o' it becomes also 'oa' when I enter an 'x' it becomes '.x' when I enter an '.' it becomes also '.x' when I enter an 'd' it becomes 'dk' when I enter an 'k' it becomes also 'dk' when I enter an '#' it becomes '#&'when I enter an '&' it becomes also '#&' I verified 'text input' and 'language®ional settings' under 'setting' but nothing seems to be wrong there. I don't us any custom dictionairy. The vitual keyboard work normal. It pretty much sucks when the keyboard can't be used. does anybody has a solution for this issue?

My problem: Some days ago I noticed that there is something with my cable-connection at my W760i. When I hear music with Headphones it sounds very strange. Sometimes the singer is away and I can only hear the Background music or the music is only on one ear. I've tested the cable if the problem is there, but no it is ok. And the charger and the PC-cable are working without faults too. So there must be a Defect at the phone, I think. I want to send my W760i to Sony Ericsson, because I've still warranty, but I can't find any address.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought my N900 2 weeks back. My GPS is not working. If I try to open Nokia Maps it gives me a messages as follows
1. "Looking for GPS"
2. "Downloading Data/Looking for GPS"
3. "Looking for GPS"
4. "No GPS Signal"
I did lot of readings on this but couldn't find a fix. This is reported as a bug in Maemo Bugzilla.But I'm confused with the comments from other users in these forums.So please update me if this is a general bug, or is it something wrong with my mobile.
I am facing problem with new ovi maps(with free navigation forever). Sometimes when i use it mobile get hang. Some times it shows pink & blue strips om screen & get switched off.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy bluetooth was working fine in the beginning, but now I'm unable to start the bluetooth and/or pair it to any devices.I setup from the bluetooth menu the bluetooth on, visible and name it but, when I click "save" button nothing happens. When I re-enter the menu all the settings are gone, and the bluetooth has never started.
I just downloaded today/yesterday the latest maemo update and was hoping this would fix the problem but the problem still exists.

View 4 Replies View Relatedthe ovi maps installed on my 5800 doesn't work properpy or rather i should say it doesn't work at all.from the moment i start the maps app it starts showing me the message "searching for position" and same message is displayed for an hour or more till i get frustrated n close this app.i have tried using it indoor, outdoors, on streets, my house roof, my friend's house roof(which are quite far away). And i hv also used it with gprs connection and wifi connection(i literally took my router on the roof to make wifi available there).i am pretty sure that there is a s/w problem because when i run google maps, it uses gps function wid out any problems.

I've uninstalled the program, installed the new one - the same continues. Also the Nokia Musiikkauppa page keepson reloading itself endlessly on Internet Explorer. With Firefox works fine!

I've didn't change any connection settings and I'm with T-Mobile if that helps.

View 12 Replies View RelatedThe "Email for Nokia 10 Accounts" also called Nokia Messaging does not work after firmware upgrade.I upgraded my E63 firmware from 400.21.13 to 410.21.10 (the latest). After upgrade, I installed the Email software, ver 9.07(2), from Ovi store. The problem starts after I entered my email address and password. The software imported the email account to the Communication --> Messaging folder (where you used to read your text message). Before upgrading, the email software manages all my email accouts and synchronise up to 10 emails. Now that nice email software and user friendly interface no longer show up. Instead it uses that poor design Communication --> Messaging folder. It only allows maximum 2 email acct. auto retrieval and NOT working with yahoo mail.
this browser is said to be good at Internet videos on the symbian phones. well i got my hands on it.... and was disappointed! yes, the actual Internet looks great, but it lags very much. it's like, i have to wait for about 30 seconds for the video to pause after i press the pause button. it seems the video area is almost non responsive and the video itself lags.is this normal or am i missing something?

I have used application on N8 and it works perfecly on Anna devices. However, there seems to be problem with Belle. It works fine at start (from 5 to 60 minutes) but in some point magnetometers and compass seem to freeze, and I do not get updates their values. This problem seems to be related with Belle because it works fine on Anna and I've tested the application with two different N8 phones running Belle.

When i swipe (ex. for scrolling on the app list) then the phone some times detects the swipe as a tap, and then might open an app og an URL, or what ever is under my finger when it happens. This behavier is very random, and usually happens at the start of swiping (eg. detects me putting my finger on the screen and not lifting it again, but swiping, as a tap).
I was wondering when I am watching Videos on N900 with the accelerometer that it has why does it not rotate the Video from Landscape to Portrait Mode.I hope it does ! is it not doing it right now, because of the lack of portrait mode in it ?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having some problems with my phone which I think might be related to gstreamer.When I open the camera cover and the camera tries to launch I get the error message "Operation failed". Media player also does not work, I can see the media files but when I try playing them nothing happens.
I used gstreamer to capture images for an application that I created and it has always worked fine until recently, when I started noticing the problems with the camera and media player.Between the time everything was working and now, this is what I have done:
-installed OpenGL ES 2
-installed Qt
-copied a bunch of screenshots from the phone to my Mac (i think I just did it through bluetooth but I might have used the usb cable)
Here is what I have done to try to fix the problem:
-connect the phone via usb to a windows computer, rightclick the n900 icon and error check (as recommended on this forum)
-update the firmware using app manager
-reboot
-type dmesg in the terminal after opening the lens cover - that did not output any errors
Could this be related to anything other than the gstreamer? If it is the gstreamer, should I try reinstalling it?
Nokia. Why release a phone with no/very little software support? It's been about 4 months since the release and it's still not much better.I replaced my Iphone with the N900 because it's meant to be an Iphone beater, but the truth is looking sadly the opposite.Nokia Map loader is not working and the PC Suite has bugs and it's complicated having to switch between PC Suite mode and Mass Storage mode. What's happened to my free Navigation?Come on Nokia this is embarrasing, I absolutely love this phone and I want to recommed it to my friends, but with the software situation that's not a possibility.

I have a Nokia Messaging account that I created during the first appear of Nokia Messaging service and now with Movistar Spain subscription. In my account I have 2 Google Mail Accounts (Normal and Apps), a MobileMe account and Yahoo IMAP (spanish address) account.
All the accounts work correctly except Yahoo account. What happen? That I have emails in the inbox of mail mobile 3 days old, the old emails from third day suddenly became unreaded, I open to read, and are marked as read, but after some time (30min, 1hour) or some time like this became unreaded suddenly. For example today some emails, in the case of today 15 emails from 13th of january became unread again again and again.
It's annoying because with this behaviour there's no way to know how really new emails you have and also for every time the email is marked as unread the mobile spend time and battery notifying me. There's someone else that has this problem? Any propose or solution?
I try to delete the Yahoo account in my Nokia Messaging account and create a new one with the address, but the problem come back again and again. A solution could be to classify all the email every day in folders keeping my Inbox of Yahoo account in server clean, but there's some day that I have no time to do this work.
