I was wondering when I am watching Videos on N900 with the accelerometer that it has why does it not rotate the Video from Landscape to Portrait Mode.I hope it does ! is it not doing it right now, because of the lack of portrait mode in it ?
View 23 RepliesWhen watching avi and mkv when I select to play another part of the movie the sound does not come back. I only get the video with no sound. The files are large from 700 MB to 4500 MB. Sometimes the sound comes several seconds (sometimes aprox. 10). Some files I get points of the movie that the video pauses itself. I have to fast forward a few seconds to get the movie to continue playing. I have a Nokia E7 with Belle. Are this issues normal to Belle or are caused by a bad update from Anna?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 which I have been using without issue for 6 months or so. Several days ago, I decided to install the Skype app, for whatever reason. However, once I did this, several problems suddenly sprang up.
First, when I receive a text message to my phone, nothing happens to notify me of this. Most of the time the little envelope in the corner shows up, but not always. No sound or vibration, however, no matter what profile I have it set on. The phone still rings when I receive a call, and for alarms, but not for text messages.
Second, my accelerometer seems to have stopped working. I DID get it to work once, and the phone flipped to landscape view, but then wouldn't flip back.
I've since uninstalled skype, deleted the install file, turned the phone on and off, took the battery out and put it back in, played with all the settings, etc., and no dice.
i used to always watch videos off Internet on my bb. but since i updated it, its impossible for me to watch anything. its buffering forever and never plays. also when i updated, i had to install bbworld and all my apps wich is weird.

I use a Bluetooth headset (Best Buy brand) when watching videos on my Xoom WiFi. However, the sound is nearly a second behind the video. I have the same problem when using the bluetooth headphones with my HP notebook. I understand that Bluetooth requires a lot more processing than hard-wired headphones. However, a fast processor such as the one in the Xoom should have negligible processing delay. I suppose the headphones could contribute most of the delay, but I still find it hard to accept that delay should be so long. I use digital hearing aids that have a 32 channel digital filter. The hearing instruments have to first do an A to D conversion, then process the audio and convert it back to Analog before sending the signal to the output transducer. Yet the delay through the hearing aids is negligible. Why is the delay so long through bluetooth or are the Best Buy headphones just crap? I really like using wireless headphones. Wired headphones are always getting tangled or I forget about the wires and walk away from my notebook and either yank the headphones off my head or come very close to dragging the notebook onto the floor.

I've gone through numerous posts on various Android forums but to no prevail; I've tried recalibrating the motion sensor but each time I try to my settings app crashes...? I've also tried various apps including spirit level apps which have a sensor reset option but it can't detect an accelerometer at all! Oh and I have turned auto-rotate on and off hundreds of times, as well as turning my phone on and off. I really don't want to do a factory reset....

Also apps that require shaking do not seem to work. Sounds like a dead accelerometer - taking it back to the apple store tomorrow but will I get a replacement? Everything seemed to work ok until i have tested the implemented facebook application it automatically checked all the profile in a rush from start to the end (normally it goes profile by profile automatically, but if you tilt the phone left or right it goes one profile left or right). I went to the service menu and i saw the coordinates are not zero when the phone is standing on the edge... i tried to tilt the phone in such way to find the "zero" and I did, but in that case the phone must be tilted a bit backwards and on the diagonal edge of the phone. I also used the SE "Water Level" app and it showed the same result, mine accelerometer is NOT working properly. I searched some pages if there is any way to calibrate it, but found nothing. Does anybody knows if it's possible to calibrate it ? Otherwise I will have to take the phone back to the store.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my accelerometer completely stopped working. I even factory reset the phone to try and fix it. The thing that fixed it was dropping my phone on the carpet from a small height. Keep in mind that I went through a whole 8 hour work day constantly moving around, setting my phone on the desk, and setting it up in my car mount.
None of that was enough to cause enough shock to make it work. Also, my volume rocker bent in the middle from it resting against the arm of my office chair.
I made a video of the issues: URL....Skip to 1:05 for the volume rocker and 2:15 for the auto rotate issue.
I bought my N900 2 weeks back. My GPS is not working. If I try to open Nokia Maps it gives me a messages as follows
1. "Looking for GPS"
2. "Downloading Data/Looking for GPS"
3. "Looking for GPS"
4. "No GPS Signal"
I did lot of readings on this but couldn't find a fix. This is reported as a bug in Maemo Bugzilla.But I'm confused with the comments from other users in these forums.So please update me if this is a general bug, or is it something wrong with my mobile.
My bluetooth was working fine in the beginning, but now I'm unable to start the bluetooth and/or pair it to any devices.I setup from the bluetooth menu the bluetooth on, visible and name it but, when I click "save" button nothing happens. When I re-enter the menu all the settings are gone, and the bluetooth has never started.
I just downloaded today/yesterday the latest maemo update and was hoping this would fix the problem but the problem still exists.
It's not a question but I would like to suggest this game application called SymbiMaze that uses the acccelerometer feature of E52 and E72 and other new Nokia series phone

I've had the N900 since Feburary now and it started today.I use to have internet connection on all the time but today, it's not working.I've tried to get a connection but it message says "Internet Connection Failed, Try Again?"When I press Yes, it tries again but get the same message. I've didn't change any connection settings and I'm with T-Mobile if that helps.
