Nokia Lumia :: Can't Send A SMS To The Contact's Work Telephone
Oct 9, 2012
If I write a text message on my Lumia 900 I don't have the option to chose to which number to send it if the person has more telephones numbers. I have contacts with 2 numbers stored, one from work and one personal... I can't send a SMS to the contact's work telephone.
I have a Nokia 610..I wanted to send the phone number of one of my contacts to my husband via sms and i do not know if it is possible to do that without writing it manually in the sms. Can i import it into the sms somehow...or is there an option to send it directly from my contacts list?
Recently company A has been send me SMSs using different number from a specific range eg. 012 231 0582, 012 231 0589, 012 231 0592, etc
So i want to save this range of numbers under 1 contact but not one number at a time, i just want to save it as a range e.g 012 231 0500-99 such that if i receive an SMS from any of the numbers it is just recongised as from company A and the sms is stored together with other previous SMSs from the same contact even tho from different numbers.
When I use my iphone4 as a hotspot, I run through all the required settings but my computer does not recognized my iphone4. I check the signal which has 5 bars and AT&T then an "E".. I expected to see a 3G so I reset the system and still received an "E". So my deduction is that the Hotspot will not work without a 3G signal.
Since receiving 8.1 update,Two issues have appeared on my 1320,Bluetooth keeps dropping out when using it in my car for telephone calls, was perfect prior to this. Also when web browsing keeps taking to last main of a site I visited previously,I have to keep refreshing page or delete history.
When you click on 'contact us' it takes you to a page where there is a panel ' call or email Nokia Care'. You can put in your area but that’s it. you cant send a message to Nokia care. So why do they pretend that you can. Yours disgruntled as usual.
My N9 got bricked when I tried to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3 a few days back, and when I tried to using the contact page at nokia.com/no-no/support/contact-us/ I got errors saying I had not filled in the message and version number fields, although I had done so.
I tried on 3 PCs, 2 with Windows and one with Kubuntu, tried using Firefox and Opera on all of them, with varying installs of Flash and all that (including the latest) if that should matter at all...
My N9 issue is resolved now thanks to some un-bricking guides and software... so altough it still does freeze and reboot quite often (not as often as with older firmware though) it's finally usable again, but I'd just thought I let you know about my contact issues in case anyone else have the same experience.
It doesnt work...... I assign a pic of the contact and a tone but when they ring me the pic shows but the tone is set to a default which is the nokia original tone and not even a tone ive chosen, ive updated the software and its still the same.
I have a E71 i have set up my sipgate account it says it is registered i have checked all settings and they seem corre ct but nowhere in thephone is there a intenet telephone program and it will no accept that i have a registered sip account.
After I've chosen a photo for a certain contact, I cannot find a way to remove it. The only option that seems to be available is to change it into something else.how you can remove a contact photo without removing and re-creating the contact?
My wife just bought the new 920 (going from N8) ... and so far she is really frustrated!
We have set up her phone with both her Hotmail and Facebook, but that means that when she goes to "persons" she gets a couple of hundred contacts, And she does NOT want that.
She has a list (on her OLD phone) of about 50 contacts she wants, no more no less.
So we went into the settings, and asked it to filter off all contacts from Hotmail and Facebook, which is fine.
BUT, now she can't add new contacts (like in the old days) ... well she can, but they are automatically new Hotmail-contacts, and they get filtered away...
QUESTION: Is there no way to add a contact manually (like in the old days), and it gets saved to "the phone"?
We did manage to move all the old contacts from her old phone, to the new one - but they automatically becomes Hotmail-contacts... (and are filtered off!)
Does the 920 support contact photos? When I transfer my contacts from the N9 to the 920 will the 920 also import the contact photos? If I sign in to my Microsoft Account will it automatically sync my contacts to the Cloud (Outlook.com) Or is this user defined? If it does sync will I lose all of my contact photos because Outlook.com doesn't support photos (other than those it 'imports' from Hotmail or Outlook profiles).
How I can change the default number of a contact, or access other saved numbers of the contact? For example, I have a contact which has 4 different phone numbers. When I search the contact from "People" I can only see 2 numbers and email. The number I most often use can not be seen although it is saved.
how to edit which information from the contacts that will be displayed when trying to call a contact? I cannot get anything else than Firstname, Company showed - which is not how I want this.
Furthermore I have found no way to lookup addresses in the Nokia Car navigator from contacts.
Anyway to surpass the 20 members per group limitation...I have to say this is really annoying why is it old androids phone let you have close to unlimited members per group according to your SD card storage, but not for Lumia 900
so I am thinking Nokia should mark this as a play phone not for business usage? I am quite frustrated that I got a new phone but force to use back my 5800 xpress music because most of my contacts transfer over is kinda screw up, and yes I have went to a Nokia care center and all they can reply "is a new software is like that".
I've added an additional Hotmail account and enabled syncing with Contacts, but for some reason, each of those contacts that belong to that account do not show a contact photo, it's just a blank square. Other information such as name and numbers etc are present. With the (primary) Microsoft Account i've used when setting up the phone, those very same contacts are displayed as they should be.
The max number of persons allowed in a contact group is (as far as I know) restricted to 20 persons. This seems very low and I wonder why this restriction is applied. A limitation of 20 persons in a group is not practical.
in last Saturday I bought Nokia Lumia 820 and I'm very happy with my purchase except one thing, can't send any messages MMS or text nothing at all. Every my attempt ending like this "can' send . Try again" I have done factory reset and even get new sim card from my network provider and nothing help.
I have just got the lumia 710. I am unable to send MMS or use mobile data. I am on the Vodafone network. I have rang them several times regarding this problem and they have checked that all is ok at there end and say that the APN settings need doing. I have done this and still nothing.
I've had my Lumia 800 for a couple of weeks, and think it's great. However, yesterday it decided that it will no longer allow me to send or receive text messages of any kind. Both seem to time out with a 'Can't send' error.
i bought a lumia800 from amazon and it turns out to be a german tmobile lumia800, i am able to use it with my at&t sim tho, but i couldnt get my voicemail or use the internet, i eventually used nokia network setup app to configure all those operator specific stuff. so now evrything works fine.except that i cannot send/recieve mms messages.
