Every time I receive an Email through my yahoo account, I get a text message notification of the email as well. How do I make this stop?I don't text a lot so I don't have unlimited texts on my account. Kind of annoying to have to delete texts as well as the fact that it's eating my monthly text allotment. I have been through every options menu and have not located anything that addresses this.
I have the email setup on my blackberry. I get emails fine. I also get a text message of the emails everytime they are sent. This is killing me text messages a month. I dont know how to turn the text message (email notification) off. I looked it up in my manuel and it says to:
click options click email settings set the send email to handheld field no press the menu key click save
This would work great but I can go to email settings but then I cant find the send email to handheld field no that is not a setting on my phone. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you
I used to get a notification on phone marketplace whenever there is update available for any installed app. However since the recent firmware update, I do not get any notification for app update.Do I have to activate anything to get the notification?
Where is the notification history? If I get a notification and don't check my phone before it disappears then I have no way of knowing what notification I got (short of scanning my homepage, which doesn't help for apps I don't have pinned, as the icons on the app list don't show notification indicators).Alternatively I'd accept being able to disable the timeout on the notification so it doesn't disappear and stacks with other notification on the lock screen. As a last resort being able to make notifications like old school popups would do. Are any of these an option on the Lumia 820? I'm guessing no, as I'm slowly finding that it's the worlds most inflexible phone (are Nokia after iPhone's crown in this area?)
As the happy owner of Nokia 808Pureview i have the questions about the notification lights and low power screensaver. Does the 820 or 920 have this feature? I'm very use to use the always on display clock to check time and missed calls/messages. I found this very useful during night etc. It's not necessary to always unlock the phone... I know WP7.5 missed this feature but what about Lumia WP8? If this has still not been implemented, it's very step backwards for Nokia. I thing lot of customers are used to this function...
My Lumia 610 doesn't display notification (unread messages) for outlook when the screen is locked. However it does display the notification such as missed calls, text messages, face book messages, Gmails, Yahoo emails, Windows live emails. But nothing for Outlook.
What's the easiest way to turn off/on the Phone Ringer? I know I can do it by going to Settings>ringtones+sounds>Ringer, but this is not very convenient when you need to temporarily disable the Ringer for meetings, etc. at work. There must be a faster/easier way, but I haven't found it yet -- and God forbid I have to read the manual.
My lumia 800 won't turn on anymore. I tried all key combination / duration, both connected and not connected to the computer or charger, and it's not giving sign of life. The battery was FULL at the last moment I've seen it alive. And it's even not recognised by Zune.
I recently got a Nokia 822 phone. In three days, the phone's screen froze three time and wouldn't turn back on. I tried plugging the phone into the wall in case the battery was dead. I tried calling the phone. The only thing that worked was pulling the battery and holding the volume down/power button to reboot the phone.
I bought a new Nokia Lumia 800. I noticed that despite turning off vibration, the phone vibrates each time the back key (<-) is pressed. Is there any way to turn this off. i believe this could save a lot of battery. Also how do we completely close an application in Lumia 800? I opened a page in IE. pressed back key. Then pressed and held back key to find there is no active application or IE running. However, when i open IE next time, I see the previous page has been loaded and it has been active all this time which could have been eating in to my data usage as well as battery charge.
have just received my new Nokia lumia 800.I love it so far but want to see how the battery does before I decide whether to keep it or not. However, not sure if I am missing something but there doesn't seem to be an option to turn 3g on and off under mobile networks and I can't figure out how else to do it.
I want to turn off the sounds when I am using my phone, e.g., when I am texting, each time I press a key it make a sound. If I turn down the volume then I cannot hear it ring so this is not the answer. I have the Nokia 7020 phone. How to change ring tones.
I have just purchased a Lumia 710, after using the HTC 7 Mozart (also windows phone). I prefer to charge my phone overnight and I also need to turn it off so my number can divert. I have always been able to turn my phone off and charge it, however each and every time I turn it off it turns on again. The iPhone and other andriod phones don't do this, and the HTC didn't do it either, so why does Nokia do this. Is there a setting in the phone? Many google results seem to say it only happens with nokia, and others say it happens with all windows phones, however as previously mentioned, the HTC doesn't do it.
