Jan 30, 2010How do I turn on the flashing light to notify me of an event while I was away from the phone (ie, missed call or sms)? I found it once, but I've forgotten where it was.

Nov 1, 2011Previous phones I have had, have either beeped or flashed a light to let you know you have missed a message or call - great features!My new Nokia 6720 does nothing (that I can find). The breathing light seems to just breathe all the time in standby mode, which I find a little creepy... The little envelope that appears on the screen is hard to see in standby mode.Is there a notification like a flashing light or beep I can set up to have the phone let me know I missed a call / message? If so where do I find it?

Aug 21, 2012I leave my phone in the dock by my bed and have a timeframe smart action set to turn off all ringers but I can't seem to find a way to turn off the notification light. It gets kind of annoying to wake up to get a drink and see that light flashing because of a new email like a new photon or an email. If I could set a smart action to turn the light off at night that would be excellent.

Ive tried plugging the charger in, using the wireless charger, I even had ny husband call my phone and the screen never lit up and the phone never rang. Ive held down the power button, ive held the power and vol up button and still nothing.

Jan 4, 2010The backlighting of my keyboard has completely stopped, along with the notification light. Noticed it a few days ago.I've checked the notification settings and nothing has been changed, but the light no longer works/indicates for any functions. The loss of backlighting for the keyboard is the issue that I find the most concerning. Other than these two issues, I really couldn't be more pleased with my N900 and the Maemo experience.

Jul 29, 2010I have a the T-Mobile version of the 5230 (the Nuron). I assumed that the notification light would flash after someone left a voice mail. T-Mobile Customer Service claims the Nuron does not do this. Under the Settings-Phone-Notification Lights-Notification Light-Events Notified screen, there are 3 options that can be checked: Missed Call, New Message, New E-Mail. I had hoped "New Message" included voice messages as well as text messages, but I guess not.
This means that I would have to turn on the screen to check for voice mails if I stepped away from my phone. (Note: I do get a flashing notification light for missed calls and texts. However, the missed call flashes stop as soon as the "new voice mail" message appears on the screen.) I've tried a soft reset with no improvement.

Apr 8, 2010My issue is that the notification light on my 6760 always flashes regardless of if I have a new text/email/missed call. To check this, I set it so that it notifies me, but then unticked all the boxes for notification, eg: unticked 'notify for text', and 'notify for missed call' etc. So that it shouldn't ever notify me. To combat this I usually just turn this feature off, but I'd really like to use it as lately i've been missing a few important messages that have sat there for hours unnoticed.

I'm very use to use the always on display clock to check time and missed calls/messages. I found this very useful during night etc. It's not necessary to always unlock the phone... I know WP7.5 missed this feature but what about Lumia WP8? If this has still not been implemented, it's very step backwards for Nokia. I thing lot of customers are used to this function...

Jul 8, 2010I use E66 and E52 phones. When I receive a new message, notification light starts flashing on both phones. It is OK. But... I often use Nokia PC Suite for managing my messages. When I read all new messages on E66, notification light automatically changes its self from flashing mode to "breathing". It's fine. But it doesn't work on my E52. When I read all new messages, notification light is still flashing (no "breathing"!) on E52. I read manual and I know that it is necessary to use my phone directly to stop flashing. Why (if all messages has been read)? I think, it correct works on E66. What is the problem? I use latest version of firmware and Nokia PC Suite (not OVI Suite!). I contacted Nokia HelpDesk, but they told me something like "it is not a bug, it is a feature".

Dec 1, 2012Previously I had to format and factory reset my nokia e7 , after the format I found out that when I send and SMS and I receive the delivery , the notification light start blinking , and as soon as I touch the touch screen or press on any of the phone buttons ( like the home key, volume or unlock ) it stops blinking , I'm sure it only has to blink when I receive an SMS , not when I receive a delivery.

Problem: LED light come out during focusing even though I have switch the flash off.
Is there any way to turn the light off while taking photo? I have turn the flash off => try to take a photo in the dark environment => the light come out during focusing => but when capturing the photo, no flash..
Any idea how to turn that light off? Because sometimes I want to take photo in the place that is not authorized to use Flash (in this case light while focusing) and sometimes that light is annoying to certain people..

Mar 12, 2010I just purchased the really magnificent phone 6720. I have a problem playing songs I have bought in iTunes with the non-DRM'ed format .m4a.
The player seems to recognize the tracks as playable and imports them to the library alright. But when playing a particular song the player skips to the next after a brief attempt. It looks like a bug.If I side-load my SD-card with the exact same tracks into other S60 devices there are no problems at all. So:

May 2, 2010I use my 6720c for GPS navigation. But no matter if I use A-GPS or not, finding a signal within Nokia Maps or the GPS utilities takes *at least* 10 minutes. Is this normal? If not, what am I doing wrong? Is there maybe any GPS-fix (i.e. pre-calced sat coordinates) or do I miss a setting for better performance? My software version is 12.x.

Apr 24, 2010I recently bought a Nokia 6720 Classic, and played with the navigation software. I particularly liked the function where the displayed map rotates as the phone rotates, so that the map north always points to true north.I then installed Ovi Maps 3.03, whereby the entire navigation software GUI changed, and the true-north-function disappeared. I never checked what software was previously installed, so I don't really know if I just installed a newer version of Ovi Maps, or if I installed an entirely new software. The original software did not have any links to LonelyPlanet or Michelin.I also made the mistake of selecting 6730 classic in the download menu on the Nokia site, since the 6720 was not listed. Could it be that the 6730 doesn't have a built-in compass, and that the software I downloaded therefore does not have the true-north function?
Looking in the Programs folder, I saw a Nokia Maps and an Ovi Maps (swedish), both version 3.03 (246) I uninstalled the Ovi Maps program and restarted the phone, but I still got the new Ovi Maps 3.03 when I selected the Maps menu on the phone. I haven't dared to uninstall Nokia Maps yet - should I try that? So my questions are
1) is there a true-north function on Ovi Maps?
2) if not, how do I restore the phone to whatever navigation software was factory-installed?
