I was wondering if there is a way to find out how much root space does each installed app take, like a X-terminal command or something? Just want to figure out if i have some "non-optified" programmes (I believe this is the right term, but could very well be wrong).

I have a Nokia XpressMusic and I bought a memory card with (allegedly) 1.9 GB of storage, yet the card runs out of space when I use up a small percentage of space. I have formatted the thing, but still no joy.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from a 8520 to 9300 and Im having problems with the application memory free space. I only have 55.1MB of free space and I cant download apps in app world cos it uses up all the free space. My space has been as low as 6.1MB. This is my 2nd phone from Virgin as I had the problem with the 1st 9300 and I had to send it back and they said that it was a problem that cant be fixed so they sent me a reconditioned phone but this phone seems to have the same problem too.
I have a 4gb media card installed to save all my pics and music onto.
Recently I have been getting low application data free space messages on my balckberry bold 9700. I have upgraded the OS to version 6.0 bundle 2115. There are not much third party applications on my phone. From the application management screen I am seeing the OS taking up approximatey 127MB and the combined storage used by the third party applications I have running on my phone is approximately 50MB. However, I am seeing that there is only 7MB free out of 250MB of application data space.I suspect that the old OS is still stored on my phone in some system folders. Where can I find these files? and how can I troubleshoot this further?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been running into problems trying to install apps after a number of my apps have been installed that I had on my Droid X and X2. About 2/3 of the way through installing my apps, they started failing because of being out of space. Well, I found that moving apps to the media area (a la sd card on older phones) worked to get more installed, but after jockeying back and forth between installing and moving and then running out of space and moving newly installed ones so that I can install more new ones, I've hid a road block. I'm not sure what the problem is, as I had all of these on my older phones without problems and if I go to Manage Applications, my Application storage shows 578MB used, 1.4GB free.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy E63 didn't come with a connection to the computer so I am just using the SD card and plugging that into the computer instead. I'm wanting to use it to put music onto my phone. I move the music off the computer and into the music folder on the SD card but I can't get the music player to find the tracks once I put the SD card back into the phone.
The files are there, I can find them through file manager, but I want to use them in the music player so I don't have to select each individual song when I want to listen to it.
I use my 6720c for GPS navigation. But no matter if I use A-GPS or not, finding a signal within Nokia Maps or the GPS utilities takes *at least* 10 minutes. Is this normal? If not, what am I doing wrong? Is there maybe any GPS-fix (i.e. pre-calced sat coordinates) or do I miss a setting for better performance? My software version is 12.x.

I see a lot of people suggesting the use of rootsh, but surely the same functionality should be achievable by just using sudo su root? So, if there is one root password for the N900, isn't that a security hazard and consequently we should all be changing ours to something we choose?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to manage the folders and subfolders in my Nokia E72 but I was not able to move the /Connectivity Folder to the /Root Folder, same thing with the /Games Folder. In my Nokia E71 the /Connectivity Folder is in the /Root Folder, the way I like it to be.
/Connectivity and /Games Folder is supposedly in the /Root Folder or otherwise there must have an option for us to move that, but there isn't.

- My N80
- A 5800 Xpress Music
- My Brothers N73
I have no problems with all Telephone to sync on Novi Suite... but it's impossible to use it:
- On my N80 i can update some maps.... it's 20 MB of size... the programs say i need 2GB of free space !!!!!!!! **bleep** PG ?!?!?!
- On 5800 Xpress Music i can upgrade the firmware....... same 2GB of Free Space!!! **bleep**!
- On N73 i can upgrade some programs... it's 200KB of size.... same 2GB of Free Space required!!

I have been having problems with my N97 for the past 4 months but has got really bad the past few days. I've had the phone for 9 months and works reasonably well most of the time.I have been running out of space on the C drive now only 500kb. No matter what I do (clearing web cache, deleting apps, trying to remove anything I can see) it rapidily loses the space again. Mb's go in hrs and even after clearing web cache. Last night I upgraded the software version to v20.0.019 and also ran the tool (forgotten the name) that attempts to move things from C drive to other drives. My emails do not take much space, I can't move them to E drive as using UK Three's email client for work email and it says it has to use the C drive but don't hink that is the issue. As soon as I clear some space it goes again.
Also after installing this new version I can no longer use my Hotmail email account or any other email client on the phone even after deleting. Also the wireless Nokia keyboard I had has stopped working now with the new version.
It's about to become useless for email or anything very soon. I have a warranty and cover for it, just wondering if it sounds like I need to use that now as is about to become an expensive brick I think.
Can all the application shown in the "Download" of Application Manger be downloaded safely without harming the OS Maemo of N900
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have got a big problem. Actualy I can't install any apps, can't accpet any sms, can't save new call history and can start some already installed apps..I already try this:
1, apt-get clean -> i do it as root, it seems thats it is done succesfully, but didnt help
2, apt-get autoremove -> I do it as root too, but it says:"E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --config -a' to correct the problem", so when I type dpkg --configure -a it says:"dpkg: unable to open/create status databasa lockfile: No space left on device"
3, I tryid to reinstal OS via PC suite.. ..but it still fail with reinstalation(a long time ago i already updated OS 2 times)
4,I already tried flasher, but I'm still geting "...%m"error
Well known tip for regaining space on C after installing the latest Maps 3.04. Go to installed apps and remove all the 'share location' stuff, you'll get about 3 to 4 meg back, and if you really want to share location install Nokia social messaging/facebook and Twitter app, from Nokia Beta Labs or Ovi Store. This will install on E and both FB and Twitter will add location on posts.
