BB Curve 8900 :: Quick Dial / Quick Finding Contacts
May 30, 2010So i've had my blackberry 8900 for a year now & it's very convenient for me to just press the clicking letters of a contact name and have it narrow down my contacts to the person i want. That way, i don't have to click on the contacts icon and start finding a name.I just took out the battery of my phone & put it in a couple minutes later because of some other issues, & now i can no longer do that anymore! I press buttons when i'm on the home screen and nothing happens; there isn't the convenient shortcut to finding/narrowing down a contact anymore.

May 16, 2015A friend is having troubles with his Z3 : He used to take pictures with the quick camera launch button, but since a recent camera or system update, when he use this button, the camera is set to automatic mode instead of manual, with poor resolution and quality settings. If he launches the camera with the standard button from the phone menu, everything is fine and perfectly set up.
When the camera is used from the quick button and set back to the correct quality settings and manual mode, after closing it, it goes back to auto mode with bad settings. Same thing when he slides the camera icon from the locked screen. The only way to get the proper settings when launching the camera is to use the icon from the phone's menu.
He tried a lot of things, from uninstalling the camera updates to searching everywhere on the internet, there is no information or messages about this problem.

Apr 13, 2010It was a problem since many days but i ignored it. But now whenever i open the lens cover of the camera, it doesn't open the camera instead i've to press the lens cover hard down to activate my camera. Also there is a gap down highlighted with circle and the black lens cover is slightly coming in front of camera again highlighted by an arrow.

Apr 13, 2012I'm currently happy with my Gingerbread but I really want that option to just slide the lcok screen to the left and it will launch the camera app. Right now, in it's place is the Sound option which will let me silence and unsilence the phone by swiping to the left. I hardly use this feature and would be happy to replace it with one for image capturing just like on ICS.

Oct 7, 2014I have discovered that post lollipop software update (not to android 5 but the update to it) the start up chime is now linked to the media volume and not the system volume.
This means that if I'm listening to music or watching a movie and leave the media volume up, the chime will play - incredibly annoying considering the system is on silent.

Mar 13, 2012I have a lock code on my iPhone 4 s & since i have just updated the software today to iso 5.1, I cant access the camera via this short cut. The camera icon is on the bottom right hand side (next to (Slide to unlock) but when I press it, it just bounces & does not open the camera. Is this a bug or do I need to configure this somewhere within settings?

The button is there but when i press it the camera will not open. The screen "jumps' a bit and appears to try to open the camera but it won't.

Oct 3, 2013How this is happening and turn it off. But every once in a while when I press the power button to wake up the phone, it will automatically throw me into the camera app. I know Sense has some type of function where if I lock the phone when the camera is active, the power button will automatically activate the camera again. But in my situation, the camera is NOT active at all or has been opened and running in the background. The phone is sleeping. I hit the power button to unlock, and boom I'm in the camera app. I was thinking it might be some accelerometer type action that is initiating it and that might be the case. But if that's the case, then I'd rather disable this function.

Apr 23, 2013For whatever reason when I load up my camera app, only the front facing camera will work. i have gone through all the settings in the camera but nothing will let me select the main camera. i've had it for 3 days and it's worked fine till about an hour ago. the only thing I did was install angry birds and hanging with friends. everything else seems to work fine on the phone. here is what i've tried to correct the problem so far:

May 11, 2010My E63 didn't come with a connection to the computer so I am just using the SD card and plugging that into the computer instead. I'm wanting to use it to put music onto my phone. I move the music off the computer and into the music folder on the SD card but I can't get the music player to find the tracks once I put the SD card back into the phone.
The files are there, I can find them through file manager, but I want to use them in the music player so I don't have to select each individual song when I want to listen to it.

May 2, 2010I use my 6720c for GPS navigation. But no matter if I use A-GPS or not, finding a signal within Nokia Maps or the GPS utilities takes *at least* 10 minutes. Is this normal? If not, what am I doing wrong? Is there maybe any GPS-fix (i.e. pre-calced sat coordinates) or do I miss a setting for better performance? My software version is 12.x.

Its really irritating to get an SMS, then when I unlock the phone and scroll using the opti-pad to the tab with new SMS it keeps going passed it. So maybe there is a way around this? 1) tried reinstalled firmware through Ovi suite - failed to have programs
2) advanced date on phone to 22/10/11 and using software update on phone... updates appeared for Symbian Anna 1/2 and 2/2 and installation appeared to take place. However, no icon for Quickoffice or PDF.
3) If I go to settings > application manager > installed apps then Adobe Reader LE version 10.00(245) is listed as being on C: phonememory and Quickoffice 6.04(460) on C: phonememory
