Today I updated E72 to the latest FW 031.023 using Nokia Software Updater Tool using Laptop. Update was completed without any issue and at the end I was shown a page which says restore last back up. Now I did take backup before starting the FW update. However after updating the FW my phone has all my old settings.So question is should restore the last back up ? is that a mandatory step after FW update ?
View 4 RepliesI updated iTunes and then tried to update to the iOs5.1 via iTunes. This didn't work so I updated via the phone.
The phone switched off and now it is stuck with a screen that says connect to iTunes. When I connect to iTunes it says the phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. I have tried unsuccessfully to restore it for the last 3 hours.
Most of the time the phone would disconnect at 9minutes remaining, or it would seem to download completely and I would then get an error 3529.
I tried disabling the firewall but still nothing works.
I downloaded the IOS5 software in the middle of October when the upgrade came out. I backed up everything then. When the new 5.0.1 upgrade came out and I downloaded it last week, I got everything back except for my photos that I took from the middle of October to when I downloaded 5.0.1 last week. how to get the photos lost during this time back? I apologize if this has been answered already and I just haven't found it...I have tried a few things from other posts but have not been successful so far.

I currently have a jailbroken 3GS running on 3.1.3 and I'm satisfied with it. If I want to restore the phone, will iTunes force me to upgrade to 4.0 or will I still keep my 3.1.3? I've heard of 4.0 causing problems (especially on 3GS and 3G models) so I'd rather not upgrade to it.

The back up was done just couple minutes before i upgraded and i have also tried previous back ups but none of them work.
Is there going to be a way to get the back up working?

Just upgraded to 6.0 for device last night. Backed up all data. When data restored,everything restored except the contact list. I tried restoring address book 4 times after initial restore. Desktop restore show over 900 records but none of them will move over.

I am trying to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 5. As my MacPro is still running Snow Leopard, I decided NOT to sync with iCloud but rather with iTunes. Every time I connect the iPhone, iTunes tells me the restore has been interrupted and offers to resume backup. When I do, it starts restoring, restarts the iPhone and then I get same message.... over and over again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
I have an e72 running 021.024 and the latest firmware according to the nokia site is 031.23 I can't upgrade to this. Previously, I did a check on nokia to see whether I could upgrade using my product number from under the battery and it use to tell me that the latest for my phone is 021.024 even though on the other page it use to say 031.23 is the latest.
Now however when I put my product code in to it it tells me the the latest for my phone is 031.23 so it seems my phone can now upgrade to this firmware. But when I try to update from my phone it tells me no updates are available. This is using the *#000# method and PC. What can I do?
My trusty N82 is getting a bit battered so I'm looking to replace it & thinking about the X6. I love the camera on my N82 so I'm hoping the X6 will be the same, hoping the screen might be good for viewing photos, like my maps so interested in the free sat nav, not too bothered about the music side if things as I have an ipod, but you never know I could be persuaded. Just wondering what people think because all I see are bad reviews. Failing that I'll get another N82 off ebay.

The only thing I don't want to lose are my SMS.I also don't want to jailbreak my iPhone.
What are the solution to backup only my SMS (so not regular iTunes backup) and then restore that only to my freshly installed iOS4?
I inadvertently backed up my iPod Touch 3G which ended up being a blessing because it actually died due to water damage. When I get my new iP4 I want to restore from that iPod Touch backup because it has many apps I use for studying including the settings which I definitely need. Is there a way to restore just the apps? How would/could I restore at least the one app with data that I really need?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally updated my iPhone to 5.1. I waited so long because of the fiasco updating my iPod Touch when 5.0 first came out. I thought it worked, I was pleased Apple worked out the bugs. Lo and behold, all of my apps and folders disappeared before my eyes. No problem I thought, I did a back up. Restore from back up. Fifteen minutes later, it looks exactly the same. Isn't a backup supposed to be of everything on the system so that if something goes wrong, you just revert back to the back up and either try again or wait for the process to be fixed? Seriously, get your stuff together.
