Is there a possibility to switch off the boot screen music (that appears after entering the codes and prior to display of a custom boot message) on the E72? The music is quite loud and completely inappropriate in a plane or business setting.
View 8 Repliesyesterday I connected my Z2 to a regular headphone jack and few seconds later the phone turned off.
Now it can´t turn it on if i try to turn it on it shows the regular boot (sony xperia shows up) and the the screen goes black.
Tried to repair it with pcc but on the stage that i should connect the usb cable to the phone and press the down button nothing happens. So what to do?
I left my phone to charge one night before going to bed (pulled out the charger when it finished). The next morning the phone had shut down by itself and when I tried turning it on I got white lines accross the screen. That happened for a few more times (sometimes blue or green or red lines), and after I removed and put the battery back in the following has been happening since then : Starting the phoneWhite screen with Nokia logo shows upMessage "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer". Phone hangs. If I press the shut down button, lines appear and fade out before phone shuts down.
I tried the hard reset method, but either I am doing it wrong, or it just doesn't apply here. I tried connecting it to my PC, but it is not recognised (probably because a message to select PC Suite doesn't show up). The phone is a few months outside warranty, so it is not financially wise (or viable) to send it for repairs. I am an advanced user and I'm willing to try any flashing utilities guides to restore it to working condition. Could it be the battery needing a switch? I tried removing the memory card & SIM, but the problem persists.
How do I turn the radio off? If I go back to the main page the radio still shows at the top of the page.I have a Nokia Lumia 800.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I connected my x6 via usb, the screen went blank and came back freezing on the boot-up screen (white screen with NOKIA in blue letters.) I couldn't switch off the phone with the power button so I removed the battery. When I switch on the phone now, it freezes on the boot-up screen and stays there. The only thing I can do is remove the battery.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just received a SIM-free Lumia 820 delivered from Germany.
When first switched on, it displays what I assume is a Vodaphone splash screen of some sort. This appears before the NOKIA logo (which in turn appears before the blue Windows Phone 8 splash screen).
My current phone (Lumia 800) came from Italy and the about page shows that the original carrier was WIND, but in everyday use, there is no visible consequence.
On the 820, there seems to be some kind of carrier branding embedded deep into the phone. On the 'Extras + info' page of settings, in the additional info block, it says Mobile Operator Name VOD-DE, which is presumably Vodaphone Germany.
I tried re-setting the phone completely, but this behaviour remains. Can I do anything to get rid of this pre-boot splash screen? It's not a really big deal, but this kind of stuff irritates me beyond reason.
Yesterday was my first day trying to use my new E7 as my primary phone. I am having a major problem where the phone is stuck at the white nokia log boot screen and it keeps restarting.
In the days before, I updated from the original 13.x firmware to 14.002 though the ovi suite. After about an hour of usage yesterday, I opened the on phone ovi store application and it said an update was required before I could use it, so I let it update OTA. After the update, I opened the application and tried to get Angry Birds Free. The download started, then I pressed an in app button to do something else in the mean time and the phone froze up during the screen transition. Restarted with 8 second power cycle. Back into the ovi store to continue the download, this time the phone restarted on its own halfway through the download. Back into the ovi store a 3rd time to continue the download, phone froze up. Restarted with 8 second power cycle. Wouldn't get past the boot screen.
Yesterday I was able to get the phone to connect to my computer and I attempted to reinstall 14.002 firmware 2x, which seemed to work but I was still stuck. I was able to call Nokia Customer Care and the support person tried some of the same things I did. Then without a sim card in the device we connected to my computer, tried to reinstall firmware, it complained about no sim card. I put an old non-working sim in the device and the home screen came up all of a sudden. So it appeared to be fixed.
I'm back to the same issue today, only now my computer won't connect to the phone. I've tried 10 times. Once it connected but only as a storage drive, not to Ovi Suite.
After installing 10.586.29 from windows insider, my nokia lumia 1320 doesn't booting and just showing up "Nokia" on screen and flashing several times then shutting down and again same thing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia Lumia 1520 fell and the screen glass broke. However the screen was working fine. I ordered a new screen replacement and replaced the screen only to find out that the touch was not working in the new screen assembly so i will return it back.
I put the old screen back again and now i get white tv noise on booting and then the screen goes dark and stays that way. I can hear the sounds from the phone and it does seem like it functions properly but i can't see anything.
I tried soft and hard reset with no luck. What might be the cause for the white noise and dark screen? Could it be a display connector fault on the motherboard?
Whenever I try and open music player the app will not run, screen goes blank for a moment then returns to the menu. It will not play music files when you try and open them. I have updated the phone software and this has not worked.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to find that my phone had restarted itself over night, Thought nothing of it until 15 mins later I came back to it and it was still stuck in start up on the waves. It wont turn off or do anything when any of the buttons are pressed. The notification light is orange (dont know if that means anything).
I have since unplugged it and I am leaving to drain the battery hopefully that will do something...
Last night as I was driving home my phone cut itself off. The battery was very low and as a safety feature I assume, it cut itself off. When I got home I put the phone on my tv stand and put it on charge through a wall charger and let it charge overnight.I got up this morning and noticed my DVR was turned on. I picked up the remote and pressed the power button to cut it off. I instantly noticed my phone have to boot logo and then go off. I went over to unhook it from the charger. Now the phone wont boot.I have a Droid 4. You can't remove the battery. I have tried everything that I know to try to get it to boot or even turn on. I have tired 2 different types of wall chargers, my wife's car charger, a usb cable, and nothing makes a difference. I have also tried to hold the volume down and the power button at the same time. I don't know if my battery is shot but maybe it had something to do with my DVR remote. I upgraded to the Dish Network Hopper Service. I normally charge my phone at the same place every night.

I created a Car profile with ring volumes and other stuff set up just the way I want it. However, I cannot make the screen not to timeout and turn off. Basically, the automatic screen lock is deactivated and shouldn't get into way. When I plug the aux cable into the phone I select the Music Stand accessory which is the only one that has a Screen control setting. It is set to On, from the default Automatic. However, the screen goes black anyway, but the buttons stay lit.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI can't turn it off without it initiating a boot loop all on its own. Every time I press the power button and select "Power Off", it turns off and then about 5 seconds later the Sony screen comes back on, stays on for a few seconds, turns back off and repeats. I can break the bootloop by holding the power button for about 10 seconds and turning the device back on. The consequence is that every time I turn off my phone, it discharges totally!
My phone is NOT rooted and it hasn't been modified in any way.

The issue appeared after a few months of use, in November. I think it didn't coincide with any software update. It's not a brand new phone so I wouldn't like to return it as I already have lots of information in there.
So I was on my way back from vacation yesterday, I had made a phone call a few minutes prior, and I noticed my screen wasn't coming on.Tried holding the power button - nothing.Tried charging - nothing.Tried every combo I could find on google, held them for minutes - nothing.Let it charge for an hour or so - nothing.Then randomly it started allowing me to get to the "Google" splash screen, then the screen would go black and become unresponsive again.
It's gotten a little better, but it is extremely random, sometimes I can get into recovery (TWRP), sometimes I can get the phone to charge, and sometimes it will do nothing at all.After getting into recovery a few times, I noticed that my SD card was wiped (only a TWRP folder remains) and it wasn't a few minutes before that - I did not wipe it.It will not boot, and trying to mount via USB doesn't work - it doesn't allow me to copy any files to try and re-flash the OS (stock rooted 6.0.1 with elemental x).Tried ADB push with no luck, it says file system is read-only.
I can un-toggle System / Data etc in TWRP to unmount them, but clicking to mount them does nothing, the box remains unchecked, and trying to do other things, such as start adb sideload, results in a buttload of mount /system errors..Battery is full (when I can get the phone to charge) and is a new OEM battery.Tried charging, not charging, and plugged into a USB port on my PC...does this sound like the internal memory is shot? How I can revive my lil' buddy???
My phone randomly shut off and then I when I turn it back on. the infinite boot logo appear. I installed clockworld. tried to reformat everything and reinstall stock image and still nothing.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay i've had my Nokia n97 for more than 6months now and its been working great except lately my facebook app wasn't working and i had to update it,so last night i backed up my files on my mobile and i connected it to the pc and updated it with the program that the mobile brings with a cd it was okay then i went back to restore my files and it said it had to restart so it turned off and i went to turn it on again and it stayed a blank screen with the nokia sign in the middle in blue (when you turn it on it that usually shows) but it stayed stuck there it doesn't go to pin code nor anything, and to turn it off i have to take the battery off,

I tried plugging the phone into the wall in case the battery was dead. I tried calling the phone. The only thing that worked was pulling the battery and holding the volume down/power button to reboot the phone.

I have been using it for a 4 weeks now and suddenly when it was on the lock screen won't show up just the background without the clock, wifi, 3G or any other icons showing. After that when the screen timed out I can't get it to wake up anymore. When I get a text, call, email it doesn't vibrate. The volume, power or camera buttons don't wake it up. The screen doesn't light up or the touch keys. Does anyone one of a solution or has seen this before? I still have a 60% battery so won't be able to try until tomorrow until the battery dies. Plugging it into USB, I can see the phone on the computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my EVO on Saturday morning and have found something quite annoying... twice now, my phone has gotten stuck on the boot screen and started looping.The first re-start was prompted by a software update. The second, I decided to use the battery up completely and started after charging the battery overnight. Anyway this automatic turning is sometimes too eager to turn the display so I would like to turn it manually. I cannot find any feature which supports this. Only with photos there is such feature but not with sms, web surfing etc.

As I said I will just be on my phone then the screen will go black with red and black stripes going from one side of the phone to another, it will then turn itself on and off again. It is not water damaged and has not been dropped either..Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Brought this phone at the end of November and within a week I started to experience the contact's screen fading problem's, phone turn's itself off, etc, etc. Today I have got a new fault and I have contacted Nokia and they told me to carry out three different thing's, but this didn't help and suggested I take it to a repair centre.I stumbled on this discussion page and thought I would post my problem to see if anyone could help me :-Every time I go to answer a call or make a call, my phone just turn's itself off, can anyone help ?Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this one and if so, what can I do.I have removed the battery, sim card and checked for an updated, nothing helped.
