Nokia :: E72 - Geotagging / Location Tagger Application
Feb 26, 2010
Just have purchased E72. Having already N95 8GB and E71. That time I found Location Tagger on beta labs and they still work fine on both. I was expecting the option of geo tagging in this new advance device as most of the other brands have but thats missing. Surprisingly when I checked on beta labs or ovi store I found Location Tagger application graduated from beta labs and gone. Any help please how I can Tag my location on photos? Any link I can get location Tagger application or substitute.
GPS is working fine: Applications/Location/GPSdata/position. It finds lat/long within a couple of seconds outdoors. Strong satellites. Great. Also: Applications/Camera/settings/show GPS Info/ON. Seems like it should do the trick for geotagging. Yet with these settings, despite my N97 having strong satelites and GPS fix, I still get no geotagging data on my outdoor pictures. The field remains always blank, even whilst the GPS has a fix.
Whenever I snap a picture or record a video and exit the camera application, the satellite icon remains on. I have to switch the mobile on/off for it to disappear. What's weird in that is, when i use the front camera, it appears again. Do you think the GPS remains on even when exiting the camera? http://share.ovi.com/media/kavi14.LeBESTof/ Check my N86 Album on OVI.
I have recently been getting errors lately saying Application cannot be installed in the default install location when trying to update apps. I've had them before but have been able to download and update apps later but now it is not updating. I have tried downloading new apps and no luck either. I think i have an SD card installed.
And while updating Google Maps, I got another message saying "insufficient storage available" yet I have 9.92 GB of space available.
I have an Sii gt-i9100g running ICS 4.03 (non-rooted). Recently I've been getting an error when applications try to update: "Application cannot be installed in the default install location".
So I checked my phone storage. phone memory: 1.97Gb Applications: 647mb Free: 247mb USB storage has about 10.5Gb available.
I uninstalled a few applications I didn't need on a regular basis and then the phone was able to update the installed applications successfully. I went in to application management and there's no option to move the installed applications to USB storage (I don't have an external SD card). So this raises a few concerns:
1: How come there's a mystery 1.1 gigabytes that isn't accounted for in the phone storage? I thought all of Android ICS was stored in that missing 4GB of USB storage memory... 2: If the phone doesn't allow further installations to phone memory when there's only about 200mb available, and if the phone has reserved 1.1 gigabytes for some hidden purpose, then is it true that without buying an SD card, we only really have about 700MB available for applications?! 3: Why isn't the option to move applications to USB storage available under ICS? I believe this was available in Gingerbread.
I'm new to the SII, but if its the case that this supposedly 16GB device only truly has 700MB available for apps without an External SD card, then I'm gonna be pretty angry.
I have an X10 Mini Pro that I want to take on holiday with me for the geotagging function, however, I'm not exactly sure how to use it. Is there some way of knowing if, when I take a photo, it'll actually geotag? Sometimes when I take pictures, I see the icon when I open the camera that says geotagging is on, but then when I look at the photo (either on my computer, or on an app called 'Been There'), it has no tags, which I assume is because the GPS/wifi hadn't located me yet. Also, does the GPS use any mobile data? My plan only has data usage for my country, so I don't want to accidentally pay too much!
I am going to Europe in a few days and wanted to know if Geotagging your photos counts against your 3G Data Service allottment? If it does. then I should probably turn off Locate Me.
I bought the cedar yesterday.... the phone is awesome....But the Geotagging doesn't help with iphoto '09 ... But it works with Google maps... in phone..What's the Problem.....
I have a customer with a Tour 9630 on Verizon Wireless. Anytime he enables the geotagging under the camera options it doesn't work. Location on setting is enabled. The camera always shows a gps symbol with a red X.
I have noticed that the searching location comes on and stays on even when location is turned off the only way I can stop is by turning location on then back of again. How do I fix that?
I am getting issues while using Nokia Drive + Beta, my position isn't moving when driving or taking 5 - 10 seconds to update then just freezes again.
it seems that i set destination, it finds me and my destination fine, i click start, it gives the first direction fine, i start driving and nothing, "my position" on the display doesn't move, the only way i can update it is "stop navigation" then "set destination" again where it picks up my new location.
i've ensured location services are on, location within the app is turned on, i've checked my connection is "online"...are there any other settings i should be aware of?
speed alert is off, landmarks is off, map colours automatic updated maps navigation licence is global
i am using it in a windscreen mount that grips the top and bottom of the phone with little "arms", i've tried in both landscape and portrait orientation. bluetooth is on and hoping to be playing music at the same time eventually.
i have been having the general "freeze out" issue recently with the phone where i lock it and then it doesn't come back on without a button reset, 2 times since friday
I have set the home location to a non-street point near a road to check if it can route to it. As this was not a valid street name so I choose my current location from map.
When I ask to go DRIVE HOME, it say no route found. I try to chane the HOME LOCATION, as soon as I click on HOME LOCATION, program crash.
Is there any other way to set HOME LOCATION ? or to reset MAPs setting only ?
According to the specs of the E72 it should have an countdown timer. cannot find it however, did anyone find it? If it is not present, does someone have a good alternative timer for the E72. And the address where to download.
I've downloaded the latest firmware and a map for E71 through Ovi Suite. They're pretty big, so I want to back them up before the next Windows reinstall. Is that possible?
I have a Nokia N8 and my maps app always has me between 'within 400m-3km of my location' (also happens with Google Maps). I've taken this back to the shop twice who assured me they fixed it but I'm still not getting an exact location.
For the past 2 years I have used the GPS Location software on my Nokia X6 for Geocaching- (A game where you find hidden containers all around the world), by entering a set of co-ordinates and the Nokia X6 guides me there.) This software utilises the integrated GPS function of the X6, so the phone doesn't need to connect to the internet or use any data. In fact this function even works without a SIM card in the phone!I have now upgraded the X6 to a Lumia 710, however I cannot find any Location software built in.software that I can download so I can carry on Geocaching using Integarated GPS-(like on the X6) and not Assisted GPS-(where the phone uses the internet, and costs me money.)
When updating my status via the Nokia FB app it can't find my location. It brings up a list of 10 places that are not near at all to where I live or where I want to check in from ... Is this a bug? All other applications can find my location including Nokia maps, fascinate, foursquare etc but I like to use the Nokia one.
I'm using nokia n86. I just downloaded wikitude from ovi store. After downloading, it asks me where to install the program so i chose to the memory card. The install was successful but now i want to delete the install file in c-drive. It went down from 23mb to 15mb i think. Where is the default location for saving so i can delete it?
When I start maps app it can not find find my location The red circle in the top left corner blinks and nothing happens Applications which must use my location do not work too The Internet works. May be I shall change any settings?
My GPS doesn't update my current location in nokia maps. However, i get a signal from 3 satellites. Is something wrong with my nokia maps? im using the nokia 5800.
I recently bought Nokia 5800XM and I have small problem. When I try to use Ovi maps and select My location it points me out to some place in London. First of all I thought its a problem with the GPS so I installed Google maps to check. The result was - Google maps application properly found my exact location(Sofia, Bulgaria, even the street was correct). Then I tried to remove all the maps and voice guidance files from my phone and installed ONLY the Bulgaria map and Bulgarian voice guidance file. However when I selected "My location" the GB(London) map was downloaded and the again I was pointed to some random location in London...
My phone software is updated to 50.0.005 and my Ovi Maps version is 3.04(updated today). Only Assisted GPS and Integrated GPS are enabled in App>Location>Positioning>Positioning Methods. I use the WAP services(HSDPA) provided by my operator(Mtel BG) to connect to internet. Is this some kind of hardware problem(in other words should I return my phone to the vendor) ? Or Ovi Maps are still in beta(or alpha) stage and can't be used for proper navigation ?
