Galaxy S5 :: Default Application Location - Insufficient Storage Available
Jul 24, 2015
I have recently been getting errors lately saying Application cannot be installed in the default install location when trying to update apps. I've had them before but have been able to download and update apps later but now it is not updating. I have tried downloading new apps and no luck either. I think i have an SD card installed.
And while updating Google Maps, I got another message saying "insufficient storage available" yet I have 9.92 GB of space available.
I have an Sii gt-i9100g running ICS 4.03 (non-rooted). Recently I've been getting an error when applications try to update: "Application cannot be installed in the default install location".
So I checked my phone storage. phone memory: 1.97Gb Applications: 647mb Free: 247mb USB storage has about 10.5Gb available.
I uninstalled a few applications I didn't need on a regular basis and then the phone was able to update the installed applications successfully. I went in to application management and there's no option to move the installed applications to USB storage (I don't have an external SD card). So this raises a few concerns:
1: How come there's a mystery 1.1 gigabytes that isn't accounted for in the phone storage? I thought all of Android ICS was stored in that missing 4GB of USB storage memory... 2: If the phone doesn't allow further installations to phone memory when there's only about 200mb available, and if the phone has reserved 1.1 gigabytes for some hidden purpose, then is it true that without buying an SD card, we only really have about 700MB available for applications?! 3: Why isn't the option to move applications to USB storage available under ICS? I believe this was available in Gingerbread.
I'm new to the SII, but if its the case that this supposedly 16GB device only truly has 700MB available for apps without an External SD card, then I'm gonna be pretty angry.
I just started using a bold 9700. My only problem is, after receiving baout 10 test messages, i get a popup saying my sim card is nearly full! I dont want my phone to save messages to my sim, but rather my device. Ive done a lot of research and every answer refers me to going to text messaging options and unselecting "e Leave Messages On SIM Card" check box. The problem there is, I dont have that option
The phone defaults to store everything on the internal storage instead of the SD card. I called Sprint, but they did not know a way. I cannot directly access the internal memory through the USB. Is there a way to make it store everything on the SD card? For instance I shoot video and it all goes into the internal memory. The only way I can get it onto my computer is to first move it to the SD card, then I can move it to my PC.
So i got a problem with my htc one m7(rooted,version 4.3). So what happened was that when I uninstalled an app and tried to install it again the message "insufficient storage available showed up even do I got more than 10gb of storage left. I already did some research. I tried deleting the cache data and odex files, but had no luck.
So suddenly when I was trying to download some stuff, I keep getting this reminder. At first, I just deleted some apps and files, and I still have around 15 gigs left. But this notification keeps showing up! I tried the odex and clearing dalvik cache methods, but nothing had been working for me.
I had 56.69Mb free in the internal memory but When I try to update the Facebook app from the Play Store (13.52MB) It says that I had Insufficient Storage Available. The download just reaches 6.54MB and the message pops outI don't know what to do, I clear all the cache, reboot my phone and nothing. My phone runs ICS latest update. url...
After getting my Wildfire S, I installed five or six apps. Then I started getting "Insufficient storage" when trying to apply updates, so I started removing them again. Eventually, the "insufficient storage" came back again, so I removed more.I'm now at the point of having to refuse updates as there's no more that I can remove - I've been looking to remove unused parts of the basic phone, for example.
I'm currently on pure nexus/ then restored stock and titanium backup is displaying an insufficient storage error when trying to back up an app. Also, I can't download anything from Firefox or chrome.I've reflashed the ROM and it didn't solve my issues. What can I do to fix this?
I just would like to know on how to change the storage location of SMS in Nokia X3-02. I tried getting into the message settings but there's no option to change the location.
So as the subject says, somehow my internal storage moved to a different location in my phone. It moved from storage/emulated/0 to data/media/0 somehow. I don't know how but now my apps and file managers are unable to access my internal storage and I am unable to download anything from my browser. My nexus 5 is rooted with Android 6.0 and has experimentalx kernel with xposed. Other than that, my nexus 5 is stock. I tried using root browser and solid browser to move my internal storage back to the correct place but that just gives me an error. I also tried using Android commander to move my storage using my pc but it's giving me permission denied. So I don't know what to do.
Does anyone know if/how to change the storage location for music? For photo and video you can do via a setting from within app but I don't see such a setting from within music app.
where text messages are stored by default on the Motorola Defy with Motoblur?
It was purchased SIM-free in June 2011 and has been running with an Orange UK SIM until 2 days ago when I switched it over to GiffGaff.
I wanted to try to preserve some text messages, but not sure if they are on the old SIM or in phone/SD memory.
I did have to perform a reset on swapping the SIM in order to re-authenticate the Motoblur account. If the messages are in the phone memory, will the reset actually over-write, or can they be retrieved with forensic software (I'm basically competent in use of forensic software).
I'm using nokia n86. I just downloaded wikitude from ovi store. After downloading, it asks me where to install the program so i chose to the memory card. The install was successful but now i want to delete the install file in c-drive. It went down from 23mb to 15mb i think. Where is the default location for saving so i can delete it?
After the update the setting under storage for windows media sync storage location is not selectable and under it it says you need to disconnect from computer to enable this setting?
I recently got a new E63 phone & am struggling to get my contacts right. The problem is the default contact location is phone memory and though i have copied the contacts to phone memory, if there is any incoming call or sms, the name doesnt appear even though i would have that persons contact stored.
Is there any way to change the default location to memory card? I go to Communication -> contacts -> Options -> Settings and the only option available is Phone & Contacts. Currently the default is phone. If i change to contacts, it asks for sign in. Kindly assist.
Often make my own ringtones using Garageband on my Mac. Transfer the tone from Garageband into iTunes (can either be shared as a specific ringtone file ('mpr' I believe), or can transfer as a regular song ('mp3').Then I use Bluetooth to send the new ringtone file from the Mac to the Phone (E7-00, Symbian Anna). It gets stored, initially, in the E:/Received Files folder. Fair enough. But now here's the problem - where can I store the new ringtone file after that, so it would appear in the phone's 'Tones' folder, the one that's displayed when I want to, e.g., change the ringtone / text-message / email alert, altogether? What I'm getting at is that I'd very much like my new ring / alert tone to feature on the default list of all the Nokia-assigned ringtones that comes as standard with the phone?Otherwise, it appears I have to save the file in the generic songs list to be played (and used as a ring / alert tone), amongst all the other actual music I listen to with the Music Player function, which I don't want to do...
I've been trying to find the default location for the widescreen wallpaper for SBRotator so I can SSH a wallpaper better than the butterfly. Does anyone know its location? To add to that, does anyone know where I can get some high quality widescreen wallpapers for the iPhone?
i have a lot of photos on my torch, so i bought a micro SD card to store them. all of my old photos that were uploaded from a curve 8330 and my computer are on the media card, but it seems every time i make a new folder, the pictures save to the device rather than the SD card. is there some way to make the media card the default location when you're saving pictures?
The problem is with the location identification (name). The address resolution can fall to a Range of addresses and blocks out the ability to use it im 1/2 mile increments at our work location. My phone appears to be accurate on gmaps to within 20 feet of my actual location. When I go to add the additional locations they all try to use the same app provided name. they are anywhere fromm 300 yards to one mile apart. Why can't it use a user defined name to stop the conflict? I have business uses for this if it is possilble. Like security guard tracking. The application finds the locations using GPS coordinates in place of addresses correctly but then converts to a street address thats not correct for a name...
So I originally tried to update one of my apps that I've been using for awhile when I got the "insufficient space on the device" error message, so then I uninstalled it and tried to download it again and still get the error message.
The app is 20.09MB in size and I currently have 445MB of available space on my Samsung Galaxy S5.
I went through and uninstalled a bunch of apps that I just don't use anymore as well as moved a bunch over to my SD card and yep still getting the message so I don't understand what's going on?
I also tried downloading other apps just to see if it was something within that app or if it's my phone but I get it.
