After the update the setting under storage for windows media sync storage location is not selectable and under it it says you need to disconnect from computer to enable this setting?

Have experienced this with a couple of applications (Freecaddie Pro and My Tracks) the program is suppose to store to SD card and it saves to internal memory. Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSince the update I keep getting this notice that pops up saying my location can't be found. This is happening on a variety of apps from texting (GO) to just playing games. I have searched thru every app and nothing seems to be location based. My GPS is off and I don't use any social media apps needing location and location is also turned off on my camera. Any ideas on how to get rid of this?
Otherwise the update has made my phone a bit faster, the camera focus now works great but I am still dropping a data connection tho not constantly. My connection is alot stronger and I can at least pull 3 blue bars of 3G. I am not really happy that I am still dropping a connection. I can drop to zero bars while sitting in the same spot. It comes back faster but my phone had degraded to not being able to get back the connection for at least 5 minutes (airplane mode, shutting phone off, pulling battery).
As I was texting, a message popped up stating that my phone storage was full. I stopped and checked the storage and memory space to see that they were perfectly fine. I went back to send another text and the message popped up again, the message didn't send and when I tried to access my texting again, it force closed until I rebooted the phone. I am using the stock messaging app, but a different home launcher. I have not previously had problems with this in the past using this same launcher, and only had 38 conversations going (all with only a few texts in each). Does any have any idea as to the reason for this and how I could solve this issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my Bionic Friday night.There's supposed to be 16gb internal memory and 16gb on the sd card.Settings>Storage lists 3.47gb app space available and 8.00gb total space for internal storage.Is this correct? Are the other 4 - 4.5 gb reserved for OS etc and just not shown in storage settings.Just want to make sure there's not a defect on the phone.Settings list sd card space as 14.9gb ( I know format data uses some space).The 'Android System Info' app shows only 4gb max internal with 3.5gb free.Seems like it's only displaying the app storage space.And it only shows 8gb for the sd card.Does this app not work on the Bionic?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a 32 gig class 10 micro SDHD card for my Bionic. I removed the 16 gig, copied the contents to my PC then copied them all to the 32 gig. When I go to Settings>Storage it shows that I have 30 gig, but I have moved some apps to it without issue and then I got an "insufficient space" message. I tried running a rescan SD app, rebooting phone, etc, but it still only allows me to put 16 gig on my 32 gig card.

If I remove the external card, I can see the internal storage, but I can't see them together. I just want to make sure this is reported somewhere. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a variety of apps that create export or backup files. How can the apps access the SD card storage directly? I recently replaced (under warrenty) my Bionic and it was a pain. I backed up everthing (app data that is) thinking the "backup" was going to the SD card, since all I got was a file address (or name). Once I moved the battery, SIM and SD card from one phone to the other, I realized that all the files were on the internal staroage and still on the old phone, not the SD card. This meant moving all of the hardware back to the old phone, finding all of the files stored on the internal storage, moving them to the SD card, switching everything back to the new phone and moving the files from the SD card to the internal storage - all the time hoping I got them in the right place (which wasn't necessarily the case all of the time).
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Bionic is connected to my Exchange Server @ my Firm. My Firm requires Device/Storage Encryption, which the Bionic supports just fine. Now that our phones/SD cards are encrypted when the phone is connected to a PC and the SD card mounted the pics are no longer readable because they are encrypted. Windows is unable to read them, if I email that pic from my phone to my gmail I can open it just fine. If I try to open it direct from the SD its a NO GO. I already ruled out that its my PC I tried 5 other including my personal PC at home...NO GO! So how to I access the pictures direct off the SD?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just spent two hours on the phone. First with Verizon, and then Motorola (I was disconnected from the rep at Motorola who did not call me back).This is the issue. When I got the Bionic I used a program called MyBackUpPro to put much of the stuff I had from my Original Droid onto the Bionic. I was up and running and very happy.Since the 8th when I got the phone everything sync's just find EXCEPT contacts. When I try to uncheck and check the box to sync contacts it give the error "Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly.". I have tried to sync contacts over 30 times since then and that's the only message I get.My next step was to try to use Backup Assistant, however according to Verizon they are having problems with it.So they transfered me to Motorola, and I spoke to two reps there who took me through the same steps as Verizon... I did them for the second time and of course no go.I suggested to THEM that maybe I can import the contacts from outlook by saving them to a CSV file, putting it on the SD card then using your contacts program to import them. I attempted to do this and it can never find the file.I put the file both in the SD card AND the SD-ext card just in case.When choose import from SIM card it says there are no contacts on my SIM card.

I have both Comcast and Outlook. I got Outlook so I could sync with Google on the Droid. Is there any EASY way to get a calendar on the Droid that will sync with Outlook or Comcast?

My Samsung Charge (POS!) did this, and was wondering if there was something I needed to change in the Bionic to do this..I'd also like to add that this phone fricking Rocks. I had the Samsung Charge for 3 weeks and I think I got a minor ulcer from it - muted calls, reseting, freezeing on reset. The screen was beautiful, bout all I have to say nice about the phone.I will say - it chews up the battery, but that's ok. I expected that from the begining. I'm just really impressed with it. Only problem or complaint I have is the blue tooth dialing.. It's locked up and reset the phone three times.. it's very differnt from the way it worked on my droid. Seems to be a diffrent program all together.

So far, I have to say that the Blur interface has been disappointing as a power user, relative to the stock interface (many things that the stock Android does well, Blur doesn't, imho). But, that's not why I'm here...I'm here because I've noticed, under the new Bionic, that the official Facebook for Android app doesn't allow me to use it to setup a sync account. In the accounts menu, if I click "Add an account," it displays the list of possible account types. Clicking on the FB for Android account type appears to do nothing. Also, for any other apps that didn't come stock with the phone, they also can't seem to setup new accounts. Twitter is the only exception for this behavior. The official Twitter for Android app does appear to bring up a next screen when you choose that type.
Is it that Twitter is implementing some API the rest are missing? All of the example sync adapters I can find have this behavior where nothing happens when you try to use their functionality of "Add an account." Why is selecting those account types a no-op instead of bringing up the usual credential input screen that normally follows selecting a type of account?
None of the contact icons for my corporate contacts sync to my Bionic. All of my contacts in Microsoft Exchange have contact icons associated with them, and on my HTC Thunderbolt the icons synced without an issue. On my Bionic none of the icons are syncing, so all of my corporate contacts are without icons. Why are corporate contact icons not syncing, and how can I get them to sync?

Currently under E-mail settings, E-mail delivery, & folder sync, I would like my sent items to sync in the background as my inbox does. Every time I change it to automatically sync in the background, it reverts back to manual as soon as I leave my e-mail. Is there anyway to force this to sync in the background? Will this be corrected in the upcoming update?

Open Applications tray, select My Accounts
Select Add Account
You will be at the Set-Up accounts menu with several other social network icons
Tap on Corporate Sync:
Enter: Domain nameuser name
Enter Password
Use secure server should be checked.
Enter Email address
Enter Exchange Server Address
Tap on Next to submit settings.
Handset will check with server and verify if successful. If you receive error could not auto detect server, touch OK to manually enter the server name. It then appears that I have connected to my exchange. I can then open up the email account settings and review/change the settings and I will always get the prompt that the update was successful. The connection error only appears when I open the account to check the inbox. The refresh symbol keeps spinning and eventually times out with the connection error.
It's been stuck on "Upgrading media database" for about an hour. Is this normal?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have had my Droid X for about 6 months and until now have been able to sync music to it with no problem. I have a subscription to the Zune Pass so the files that I sync are DRM protected. Windows Media Player is the only software I know of that can successfully sync these files to my phone. That is until recently. While I am still able to syne non-DRM Mp3's, suddenly now when I try to sync any Zune Pass files (which are WMA files), I get an error telling me that the "device's internal clock is not correct". how I can solve the problem but none of them have worked. One suggestion had me go into WMP's Privacy tab in its Tools menu and select the option to "Set clock on devices automatically", but the option was already selected.
How can I check if my device's internal clock is off? What could I have done to mess it up in the first place?
No USB mass storage and media sync?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got my Blackberry and I am having trouble with the Mass Storage.The Media Sync will not recognize the memory card at all. Win 7 does not recognize the card when I first plugged in my phone by USB cable the install driver fails. This failing has happened on 3 computer 2 win 7 and one XP.
I have done the normal things like battery pulls and deleting the driver and letting it reinstall reboots and reinstall programs. I also have the most current programs off the website.I also have tried putting the SD card in the slot on my laptop (3 different cards in an adapter) and none are able to transfer files without lagging into never never land.Everything else seems to work just fine. But I would like to be able to transfer photos and music and at this rate I can't transfer them at all.
I have noticed that the searching location comes on and stays on even when location is turned off the only way I can stop is by turning location on then back of again. How do I fix that?

It was purchased SIM-free in June 2011 and has been running with an Orange UK SIM until 2 days ago when I switched it over to GiffGaff.
I wanted to try to preserve some text messages, but not sure if they are on the old SIM or in phone/SD memory.
I did have to perform a reset on swapping the SIM in order to re-authenticate the Motoblur account. If the messages are in the phone memory, will the reset actually over-write, or can they be retrieved with forensic software (I'm basically competent in use of forensic software).
The phone defaults to store everything on the internal storage instead of the SD card. I called Sprint, but they did not know a way. I cannot directly access the internal memory through the USB. Is there a way to make it store everything on the SD card?For instance I shoot video and it all goes into the internal memory. The only way I can get it onto my computer is to first move it to the SD card, then I can move it to my PC.
