I have a Nokia N8 and my maps app always has me between 'within 400m-3km of my location' (also happens with Google Maps). I've taken this back to the shop twice who assured me they fixed it but I'm still not getting an exact location.
View 5 RepliesN8 Nokia Maps 3.08 does not calculate the Time of arrival. It shows the estimated time of arriving only with the Hours, but no Minutes. This is so even at the Endpoint of the route.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a used Nokia E52 with a hope to have maps in the pocket and GPS.After certain struggle I managed to install all maps and it seems to be working.However When I search for a street address, unless there is something on this street (in locations database.. like parking, hotel or restaurant), it doesn't fidn it at all.I looked at many forums, but I can't figure out if it's a bug or a feature.Can one just type a street address in OVI maps (let's say "Rue Saint-Bon, Paris"..or "6 Rue Saint-Bon, Paris") and expect it to find it. It seems the most basic and most important feature of GPS navigation - to find street address. But it just doesnt' work!
View 1 Replies View RelatedNavigation used to work fine on my X6, but since having to do a hard reset of the phone (due to other problems!) I cannot use the Navigation.
Everytime I get the error 'navigation cannot start at this location' and it doesn't seem like the phone can ever pick up my location.I have tried un-installing and re-installing the application but to no-avail!I haven't even wasted my time calling Nokia Support, as they are totally useless!
When using check-in you get a list of nearby places to select from. There is a small icon on the upper right corner that seems to be an "add location" feature if your current location is not listed. However that button is always greyed out.
I am using 3.06on and E6 and am logged in properly to maps and have no problems checking in and using existing locations.

I'm using N8, firmware : Belle, Map just updated to version 3.09.When checking in through Map app, the add place button in check in app is in grey color and unable to add new place if no suitable place found in the list.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed maps 3.0.8 a while ago and was working fine. I used weather widget frequently. Was in the USA last week, Belle came out for my N8 and I upgraded. Used weather widget there, and it showed me USA local weather for Wayne, near Philadelphia.I am home now in Novi Sad and weather widget still shows "Weather for Wayne'' and the temperatures and forecast are for Novi Sad. I tried to go put get GPS lock on Novi Sad in Drive. No change. I can not remove ''Wayne'' in any way I tried. I am having correct forecast and current temperature but I can not remove name of the location.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought Nokia Lumia 920 in UAE. It came pre-installed with all Nokia location service apps - Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive+, Nokia City Lens, Nokia Transit. By default, a lot of stuff, directions, routes, info comes in Arabic language. Now, i am an expat living in UAE (like the other 90% of the population) and i do not read or understand Arabic. How can i make all these apps show me info in English? Its bugging me a lot cause am unable to use any of these apps properly.

I'd like to write the exact address where I need to go, but this seems to be impossible. The only thing I am allowed to write is the city (or, in the best cases, the train station, the cinema, etc). Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.

getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. View 1 Replies View RelatedWell as the title says, I think someone has my exact PIN number. Not the 4 digit security PIN, the "unique" handheld code for BlackBerry's. I found it odd one day when my bbm friends were saying I was asking them "Who are you?".
And when my friends asked who "I" was, he said Thomas, which is not my name! I checked my own PIN, and the PIN of Thomas, it's the same! I never had this problem before. X10 Mini 2.1. How do yo set the correct time down to the right second? Whatever I try its like 30 seconds off. I try setting it 30 sec early compared to real time, and also 30 sec late. But it still changes minute when the real time says like 18:15:30 (hh:mm:sec). I am setting it to manual and Im using the TV as an indication for the exact time. But the phone always changes minute about 30 seconds wrong, no matter how I try.

Overall very happy. Does Drive have turn by turn navigation wih specific names and exits? Right now it only says stuff like "turn now".
I have noticed that the searching location comes on and stays on even when location is turned off the only way I can stop is by turning location on then back of again. How do I fix that?
