I downloaded the lastest Maps from OVI and also the Map Uploader and installed everything ok.I have an Nokia E71.When i access my OVI maps and try to navigate to an address i keep getting a pop up asking me to visit the OVI shop to purchase a licence? Why do I have to purchase a 1 day, 10 day etc etc licence if its apparently all free forever? How do I get all of this for free?

Some of these sites I can view using Opera mini, but others return mobile specific versions.I'm aware there is some kind of script that the smartphone browers ( iphone included ) use to request mobile versions. Is there any workaround or another browser that can overcome this ?
I just installed the new and free ovi maps on my nokia 5800 but after a few seconds while navigating it keeps telling me that my licence has expired. Why is this? Does this mean that ovi maps isn't free after all? I used to have this free trial licence a year ago, and i am prompted to renew this licence.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 and have successfully updated the firmware to v31.0.101 and installed maps version 3.01, but I cannot get the free navigation to work. I have the latests maps using map loader, but every time I try and start it navigating it tells me that my license has expired. In Shops & Licences/My Licences all that is listed is 'Drive Europe - Expired on 26/10/2009'.
Shouldn't Nokia Maps 3 be free?Is there a license code I can input manually to get free drive and walk navigation? Every time I try update (in Shops & Licences/My Licences) it says that there are no updates available.
I have walk navigation licence on E52.But, I selled it and as on nokia maps site, I go to update licences.
Move a licence to a new device Take the SIM card out of your old device and put it in your new device.
Select: Options > Shop & licences > My licences > Update. Confirm the connection to the licence server and select an internet access point if necessary But, this dont working. i'm from italy and i've just installed on my nokia 5800 the new ovi maps suite (after having updated the phone firmware, now i have 40.0.005).I've already unchecked the assisted-gps option in "positioning".When i use Maps, the phone finds the signal and track my location perfectly; after having set a destination it starts giving me directions (correct) but, after a few seconds, asks me to go to the shop. Since i don't want to go online (my data plan is awful) i select "no" and the planification disappears, returning on the interactive map.
I'd like to know what to to, if there's a method to use offline navigation without additional roaming cost.
I am trying to understand what is free and what isn't with the GPS on my Nokia 5800, which I bought last week. I'm in Ontario, Canada. I have downloaded maps and voice guidance from the Nokia / Ovi website, and my phone has now begun to talk to me, which is rather fun. I know I can use the GPS positioning stuff free of any charges if I don't have the aGPS setting on.
To my question(s): apparently, I now have a 90 day "Drive & Walk License" on my phone. What does that enable me to do? And what won't I be able to do once the 90 days is finished? Will the voice guidance disappear after 90 days, or what?
I really am having difficulty understanding what is free and forever, but, whatever it is, it seems like it's probably a good thing...!
so I have the maps loaded onto my phone, but when I use the Directions (like sat nav) mode it quits after 30 secs with the message 'Enter Shop' or something like that? I am using the service offline - if that makes any difference?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI turned off the 3G network and wish to connect to the Internet via the WiFi connection. My WiFi is enabled and has a valid IP address. I can ping the WiFi gateway, I can also ping an external host (google.com which resolves to 74.125.224.134). DNS lookup also works just fine and I can ping various hostnames directly. So, the ICMP packets are traversing the network. In WiFi Diagnostics (Advanced), I see a valid local IP address (192.168.5.190) and gateway (192.168.5.1, which is also the local DNS server / DNS relay agent).So, I want to pull data (web pages, etc.) from the Internet using the WiFi only (with the 3G cell / mobile network disabled). But when I turn off the mobile radio, I get this error: "Cannot visit web page when radio is turned off. Please turn on the radio and try again."

Another issue is that when I view the workout data and look at the speed data, it does not reflect actual speed. The data is not representative of the ride. For example, I know I hit a top speed of 32 mph, but nowhere in the downloaded data is a number anywhere near 32.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently came into the hands of a 16gb 3gs iphone with 3.1.3 and its locked to o2.Obviously it can not be jailbroken or Unlocked. so i thought so i popped into a local shop that claims it can unlock the iphone to various UK networks.the gentleman told me he can unlock the phone for £25!i thought great! and asked if it is a guarentee? he told me it was BUT apparently if you turn the iphone off, or it loses power for what ever reason then the Unlock will be reset and will no longer be open to all networks?

I'm an Australian based photographer and will be using the phone for business and personal use and have decided on the E models because of their apparent success with email and internet capabilities. Main uses and features I need to work properly will be:
- Pop3 email acess for Yahoo address (with email client installed?) (Email is a major priority)
- Web access/flash based websites
- Alarm facilities
- Calender/reminders etc
- Opening/creating PDF and Word docs
- Maximum battery life
- Speakerphone
- Facebook access
- Texting (this is why I'm keen on the qwerty keyboard)
I've heard a number of good and bad things about both models (there are a considerable amount of complaints out there about the E72) but I'm bot sure which to decide on. Do either/both of these models read flash based websites? Apparently the processor in the E72 is twice as fast as the E71? And the data connection is faster? I've also heard that the E72 freezes a lot and the spacebar hangs and the phone needs rebooting... Are these errors likely to be rectified when firmware upgrades come out? How do I know when upgrades are available? I havfen't had a new phone for about 3 years so I have a lot of questions! Where can you install applications from and what sort of apps are compatible with these models?
I've been using my verizon Storm 9550 for a few months now without any serious problem. However since 2 days ago, the browser could only display mobile site correctly. Every time I try to go to a full site, it displays a loading bar and after that it just shows a blank screen. Even when I try to search on google, the result page is always blank. Could anyone tell me what is going wrong here?

I have recently updated my 5800 to the long-awaited v40 firmware and so far it's great, but I've got one serious issue with it. In the previous firmware, the contacts on the homescreen used the default number when I pressed the telephone icon, but now in the new firmware when I select a homescreen contact and press the call icon, a popup appears asking me which number I'd like to call. This is slightly strange, seeing as the same contact selected from the Contacts Book correctly uses the default number without asking. I have tried removing the default number settings and setting it again, and also removing contacts from the homescreen and adding them again, but neither worked. It's pretty annoying, because having certain contacts on the homescreen is meant, at least in my opionion, to speed things up, like speed dial, but now it requires an additional click before the call is made... So, anybody know how to make the HS contacts use default numbers?

So when I was surfing the web using Chrome, I bump into a website that show popup ads and only "Ok" option available, so I just keep clicking "ok" and "ok", sometime my phone vibrate and there's few times it also download some file and went to my 'Downloads' apps, but I didn't open/click the files, will my phone got virus or any prob?
Btw, I immediately download file explorer app and delete the files inside the 'Downloads' folder, but the file still exist in 'Downloads' app.
