So I want to add a ringtone to one of my contacts and when I go to add one I get my entire media library (including videos). Is there a way to filter that out so I can only see one type of files, like .aac?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Sony Ericsson W715 Walkman phone and I try to find a way to play and view my mp3 files in media player as their folder structure is when I copied them to phone memory card - but have had no luck. The problem is that most music I listen is in a mixed form - lots of folders (witch name i like to see and choose in the player) and each consist about 20 various songs. In player under "Music" menu are items like "Artists", "Albums", "Tracks"... but no Folders. I cannot find any folder that way as "Albums" menu shows album name in ID3 tag but my folder structure is different (in one folder songs ID3 has different album name). So I have like 500 artists, 200 albums, 1500 tracks and no way to find what i want - for example to play one folder contents continuously. Only way I can think of right now seems to change all my mp3 ID3-tag album names same as my folder structure names but that choice is really bad because I don't want to lose original ID3 info and also modifying is really tedious when have to change few hundred folders of songs. So am I missing something obvious or what should I do to enable that simple behavior described above? One more thought - maybe in phone is some config file available where album names are stored and change all album names to folder names in there and not running "Update media" after that?
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I start the Media Sync program on my XP machine I immediately get a pop up that says the program has encountered an error and needs to close. It is the most recent version. This problem seems to not to be affected by whether or not Media Sync is started alone or through the Desktop manager.
However, the program opens, and acts like it is running anyway. (Just ignore the pop up.) A week ago, it was seeing my iTunes library and I could use it to put music from a playlist onto my Tour. Now, however, it does not see the iTunes library/playlist. It says it my library contains no songs. Sometimes, multiple attempts to start it it, it will see them, but then I cannot click the boxes that allow me to choose the playlist to sync them to the BB.
In regard to Videos, is there any way to only display one specific folder's worth of videos? Rather than everything on the entire phone? In the same vein, is there any way to filter the photo gallery? I don't want to see videos in my image gallery and I also don't want to see all my album covers ... just actual photos would be great.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my BB for about a month. Yesterday it froze solid and is now out for repair (two to six weeks... we'll see) I now have a Curve 8530 as a loaner, which will keep me going in the mean time.
I moved the SD card, and up came all my photos, etc.
I'm on the road a lot, so don't spend much time in front of PC, so had never synced my address book (nor have I installed the desktop manager) so now I need to re-enter all my contacts info from scratch (my phone provider moved them from my old phone during purchase... that phone is now gone).
Not wanting to do this twice, I navigated to Contacts - Options - Storage Options and selected 'Media Card' instead of 'Internal Memory' so that they would follow me back to my own phone when it comes back from repair. I really should have set that option on my own phone in the first place, but didn't know any better... it would have been great if my contact data was portable on the SD card instead of locked inside the dead phone, but live and learn.
"But wait", you're thinking, "MY phone doesn't have that option. What version of Contacts is that Curve using??" so I'll sadly admit that last paragraph is fictional. More sadly, the rest of the story is not and I'm now faced with a month of frustration as I reconstruct my contact database before I either get my unfrozen phone back, or worse, get a blank replacement. At least I can cheer myself up browsing those 200 photos I snapped during the last month, as they were all safely stashed on that 16GB SDhc chip. My kingdom for those extra few kilobytes of contact info...
Some time in the future I hope that RIM will mandate this option for ALL their applications. It is great to say that the application data is "securey stored inside the phone" and I understand there are security issues with having data exposed on removable media. But to not have at least the OPTION of keeping MY data portable is not acceptable. Provide an admin lock-out for the option for corporate/enterprise customers, sure. They have the infrastructure for backing up their users' configurations. But please allow private users like me, who rarely (or never) sync with DM, have more control of where things are stored.
I'm my gmail account on my device. I recieve emails directly into my inbox, as well as messages that skip the inbox into different folder (labels)
in the device, the main/default folder is the INBOX, whereas I prefer to use the ALL MAIL filter. Right now, I need to select FILTER, and then ALL MAIL, to see all my new emails, as opposed to those that only went into my INBOX. Any way to make the ALL MAIL folder the default one?
I want to know, how can I set "AllMail" as the standard Filter in Bold 9780 instead of Inbox. By doing this I want to see all the mails in the one mailbox (like the ones which come into inbox, filters set in the mailbox and sent mails combined.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had to install my System apps, such as Audio, Glance Screen, Network+.. and so on through Sysapp Pusher because for some reason when I do a factory reset under Cyan it removes them, which is not an issue... as long as they work.
One of the Apps I especially want is Call&Sms Filter as Iam getting spammed by cold calling and canvassing and recorded advertising.. sometimes as much as 3x a day at one point, but for some reason Filter wont work when I install it, even when I reboot my phone.. it says
"Cant open filter at the moment. Please try again Later or restart your phone"
Which ive done. I know im not the only one as many have had this issue but have solved it by a restart or rebooting the phone first then starting the app.. still wont work.
See the problem I have is that I have my own independent Alternative therapies business and i use this phone, which i answer automatically as it could be a client.. which isnt so bad if theres a live person on the other end because they just hang up as we all know cold canvassers can be charged for wasting a companies time and money.. but its the damn answering machine messages.
In the stock email app on my S3, there was always a button you could push to get rid of spam on your phone (or to mark an address as spam). I don't see it on the S5. Is it gone? Do you have to turn it on?
Between this and the inability to sync properly, they really screwed up the email app.
I find the junk mail filter in Mac Mail pretty good. However, it does not seem to synch when I am on my iphone or ipad.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSome users have complained that the default filter of all pictures taken with their iPhone 5 camera has mysteriously changed to one or the other of the various filters available other than "none" (i.e., usual full-color) version they want. I can't find that string again, hence this new item.
I had the same problem, and believe I have solved it this way:
1. Take a picture.
2. Find it the usual way in Photos - Camera Roll. Presumably it's the wrong filter.
3. Click on Edit. Click on the intertwined-color-circles icon at the bottom to reveal all the filters.
4. Scroll over to None and change it to that. Save the picture.
5. Key thing (I think): REBOOT YOUR PHONE. (I happen to do it by pressing the on-off button at the top and the depressed home key at the bottom a the same time; do it however you wish.)
6. When you next shoot a photo, it should be in "None" mode (as the default).
Tthe tittle sayz it all! I have music and audiobooks in mp3 format and when i choose TRACKS they apear all togheter. filtering them out by playlist isnt a option because i update my music frequently and i dont have time 2 insert any new song in a "MY MUSIC PLAYLIST". in the manual it sayz that when u select TRACKS it only shows you the music without the ringtones and that's not true.

I receive my email in Outlook as well as on my XPERT. I set up rules in Outlook to automatically delete incoming spam however the phone seems to display every email without any spam security or filtering. This is to the point now, where reading emails is almost impossible since 80% is spam and completely displayed.
Is there any way to set this phone to filter spam or are there any known outside vendors for an app or anything? (In my perfect world, the phone had a spam filter built-in of course)
