IPhone :: Contacts Disappeared After Accidentally Synced Itunes To Library?
Jun 5, 2012
I accidentally synced my iphone to my wife's library, which renamed my iphone in itunes. She was able to rename to my phone, but somewhere along the way I lost all my contacts from my iphone4. How can we recover these?
My son wanted to download some music from my itunes and realized that it made his iphone 3 a duplicate of mine. Is there any way to restore his settings (contacts/pictures/etc) as it was before syncing?
Recently, after backing up my music into a exernal hard disk to clear up some memory from my Mac, I deleted my music folder on my Mac and in the process, accidentally deleting my old iTunes library (Itunes library.itl), which was the one my iPhone was synced to. Furthermore, I even emptied my trash (stupidly) so I don't think I'll be able to recover the old library. Now, I'm unable to transfer any new songs from my new iTunes library to my iPhone (I used to be able to simply drag it into my Music folder when my iPhone was synced but now it just bouces off). I've heard on other platforms that an iPhone can only be synced to one iTunes library at one time so does anyone know how one might sync my iPhone to the new iTunes library? I've tried researching but I think I need some specific advice since nothing seems to work.
The iphone cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all the items in the itunes library. Additional 203 mb required. But there is 6 gb free space. What is the problem?
I used to use a PC to sync my iPhone but recently but a MacBook. Now when I try to sync my iPhone with the MacBook it says my iPhone is synced with another iTunes Library and if I continue everything on my phone will be erased and synced with the library that has nothing in it. I have over 400 songs and don't want to lose them
Have an iPhone 4 wich is synced to an iMac, sync includes, iCal, contacts, notes, music, photo's, movies, music, etc... The works.Problem is, I am currently travelling with my Macbook Air, with no library or syncs, and need to add an additonal Movie onto my iPhone, I realise if I connect it to my macbook, and check *Manually manage.. It will wipe the photos, music, movies etc, I am obivously avoiding this at all costs. My iCloud only holds my iCal, and contact info, so that is not an option either. Is there a way to add to a Pre-synced iPhone from another itunes library??
My wife and I both own Torch 9800's...the other day upgraded her bbm, but I clearly must have done something else in the process because now both our contact lists are synced. All her contacts are on my phone and vice versa. If I edit/delete a contact on my phone, the changes take place on her phone too.
it is possible to transfer your music library from a 1st gen Ipod touch to your itunes library on a Mac book pro. I have alomost 3000 songs as well as playlists on my Ipod and cant find anyway to transfer theses to my itunes library, meaning i can't add them to my 4s.
i am stuck in a tricky situation and would things first i know this is quite a frequently asked question as i have done a bit of searching on the net about it however could not not find anything that totaly matches myproblem, i have recently purchased a brand new laptop which runs windows 7 compared to my old desktop which ran XP, i have tried syncing all of my iphone 4s contents onto my new laptop's itunes library including everything not just music or videos and i got the infamous pop up "The iphone is synced with another Itunes library. Do you want to erase this iphone and sync with this Itunes library" the problem is that my original itunes library does not exist no more as my desktop was completly wiped and had XP redownloaded onto it again because it had a virus, which also wiped all of my hard drive so i cant even get everything i backed up off of my phone from it, i have managed to sign in to the itunes store and allowed my laptop to work with itunes,i have also transferred my purchases from my phone to my new itunes library but this only includes my apps and obviously not my contacts and photos and everything, i still get the pop up if i go to sync my apps from my library anyway, is there any way i can delete my original itunes library without it even existing anymore so that i can just start afresh and sync everything i have on my phone now directly to my new itunes library? or do i need to purchase this iphone rip/backup/store software that everyone goes on about or something? to be honest its really annoying my now as i just want to be able to sync everything like how i used to,
I have clean install SL on my MBP and i have synced before on itunes. Now when i plug the iphone it says 'this iphone have synced with another itunes' and i have to erase my iphone data. i don't want to lost all my music, apps and contacts. this happening when i check 'manually manage your music and videos' on itunes and applying it.
I synced my iphone with itunes and now the music on my iphone is there, but only under "songs". The playlist titles are still under "playlists" but the songs are gone. The artists are still listed under "artists", but their albums and songs are gone. All the music is listed under "songs". How do I fix it back to the way it should be? This issue is only on my iphone, itunes on my laptop is normal, playlists are there and full of the songs I put on them.
I want to find an old used device name in my itunes. When I hook up my old phone and try to rename, I can only double click and type in something new. How do it see the names that have been synced to my computer before?
when i connect it to the itunes all my iphone apps gets synced. when i uncheck the sync app box in the itunes it is asking for 'it will delete all the apps' i dont want to sync every time all the apps. what to do?
I have synced my IPhone 3GS to the newest iTunes version to get IMessage, it worked for a while but now it doesn't work and I have tried resyncing my phone but it still doesn't work.
I have an iPhone 4S that I used to sync to iTunes. The computer that housed my iTunes library died long ago, and I have not replaced it. How do I delete the synced videos I still have on my iPhone since I do not have access to the iTunes library it is associated with? I know I can attach to a different iTunes account, but I don't want to mess with my music at all. I just want the old videos gone.
I upgraded my 3Gs phone to a 4 while away on a trip. I synced with Icloud and have been happily using it. Just plugged it into my computer and am not sure what option (set up as new Iphone or Restore from back up) I need to choose and why.
my iphone cannot be sync because my itunes keep getting stuck on setp 2 of 8. so it wont back up my phone. this problem have been there a long time so a lot of my stuff (apps and pictures) are not synced. is there any way i can reset my itunes without losing the stuff in my phone?
I have a Windows 7 PC with a folder full of .gifs. When I go to sync them onto my iPhone 6, they won't work when I try to send them via iMessage. Did they change it so you can't send it anymore or is there a specific way?
So i got a new macbook and when I connected my iPhone to the new iTunes I pressed sync and it was quick but nothing noticeable happened. But later I checked my voice memos and all except 3 voice memos were deleted.................................
I don't know why syncing even allowed this to happen but it did.
I've already backed up and restored and everything but it's not back. iExplorer didn't work either when searching through the backup, it found those 3 same voice memos...
I bought a new iPhone and tried to sync it to my computer to get all my data on the new phone. However, on syncing the phone I was advised that I would have to set this up 'as a new phone' and sync later. My contacts and apps have gone onto the phone, but music, photos, settings and most importamtly text messages have not.
