Feb 23, 2010My phone whistles softly and I don't know why. I think it might have something to do with it locking and unlocking? It didn't use to do this and only started when I set up my phone to receive my work emails. It's annoying because it makes a whistling sound even if the phone is on vibrate. I don't know how to change this setting and I'm not sure what even triggers it to make the whistling sound. I can't show my IT guy because I don't know what makes it whistle and he never seems to be around when it does whistle (he thinks I'm crazy now).

Apr 10, 2010i have a problem when trying to charge my N900. It happens since day one and after upgrade to new one. It also happens after a reflash to older version and with no software installed. It happens when using the wall charger and using the USB cable connected to my laptop.
I plug my N900 and it starts charging, after a while it will stop. Sometimes it happens a few minutes after i plug it, sometimes it will happen after more time. When i unplug and replug it will start charging again and repeat the same process again: it will eventually say not charging. It happens when the phone is turned on and off. I have left my N900 plugged for hours and the light that indicates is charging just stops. Even when left 24 hours battery-eye applicaiton shows that the maximum it will get is around 40%
Do you think is a battery issue and is a matter of changing it or should i get a new device?

Jun 17, 2010I have stopped media player, walked into a meeting, and put the phone on silent. My phone rings! It's ok, because the phone is on silent, however, after it stops ringing, music starts playing and it's really loud. It plays through the phone speakers.Has anyone had an issue with this? I would love to resolve this issue asap because It's happened a number of times, especially when I don't want it to.

Jun 22, 2010Installed the Ovi Suite today (2.2), but when I start it I see the window for about 20 sec, then it silently disappears. So I can't manage my E71 (mostly today I just wanted to load the Ovi maps), or do anything.
I've uninstalled all the previous stuff (Nokia Map Update, PC Suite etc), and reinstalled the Ovi Suite a couple of times, but Ovi still drops out.

Feb 3, 2010I had the Bluetooth problem before and got new HW (motherboard). Everything was ok for 1 day and then the phone starts to shut down when it at idle. could take 1-2 hours before it just decides to shut down. it seems very ramdom. first few times it started again but suddenly I had to take out the battery...wait a while and then start it and today it decided to shut down and I can't start it at all. Had the battery out for 10 min but not any life signs when I try again.

I then switched the one back on and the start up screen worked fine but then after that it the screen goes white then it fades to black and switches of (kinda pixel like switch off). Even when I try to disconnect the opened connection, it reconnects back by itself in about 1-2 seconds.Could you advice me what should be done in order not to have this "automatic" data connection at startup?

My carrier's voice mail number is *9 and when I try to set it I get an "invalid number" message. I've been reading a on the internet and it seems to be that numbers starting with a * have a special meaning on GSM phones and that is why it gets rejected. I keep hearing this high pitch noise on my phone everytime i make calls and recieve calls. I also hear the high pitch noise when i have the phone next to my ear even when not making calls. May 2, 2012Have been using my lumia 900 for a month. I noticed that there is a white/hissing noise in the background from the phone when listening to music using headphones. It starts right before the music starts to play and stops some seconds after pausing music. There is also a click sound in between songs. I can definitely confirm this is not from music files. If I plug headphones in and unlock the phone when not playing any music, I can hear the white background noise for a few seconds before it goes off. I've seen several posts reporting on the same issue from both lumia 800 and 900 (search white noise in the forum). It is very annoying! In addition, the volume buttons on my lumia 900 don't always work when screen is off, which has also been seen by many users. I'd say listening to music from headphones using lumia 900 is a bad experience due to these issues. I like lumia's design and overall it is a great phone. But these bugs disappoint me a lot.
