Got my Lumia 800 and am loving it but when using earphones and playing music (so far have been using Spotify and Nokia Music) I hear an annoying hissing / white noise in the background. The noise starts just as begin to play music and stops a few seconds after pausing music. Anyone else getting the same or is my product faulty?
View 19 RepliesHave been using my lumia 900 for a month. I noticed that there is a white/hissing noise in the background from the phone when listening to music using headphones. It starts right before the music starts to play and stops some seconds after pausing music. There is also a click sound in between songs. I can definitely confirm this is not from music files. If I plug headphones in and unlock the phone when not playing any music, I can hear the white background noise for a few seconds before it goes off. I've seen several posts reporting on the same issue from both lumia 800 and 900 (search white noise in the forum). It is very annoying! In addition, the volume buttons on my lumia 900 don't always work when screen is off, which has also been seen by many users. I'd say listening to music from headphones using lumia 900 is a bad experience due to these issues. I like lumia's design and overall it is a great phone. But these bugs disappoint me a lot.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia Lumia 1520 fell and the screen glass broke. However the screen was working fine. I ordered a new screen replacement and replaced the screen only to find out that the touch was not working in the new screen assembly so i will return it back.
I put the old screen back again and now i get white tv noise on booting and then the screen goes dark and stays that way. I can hear the sounds from the phone and it does seem like it functions properly but i can't see anything.
I tried soft and hard reset with no luck. What might be the cause for the white noise and dark screen? Could it be a display connector fault on the motherboard?
I've had my Samsung Galaxy S6 since launch and everything has been fine up until the past few days or so when everytime I open up either the camera or snapchat, the phone makes a weird buzzing sound that only stops once I tap to focus. It makes the noise everytime I re-open the app, the camera also struggles to focus on occasions but is fine most of the time.

I also went to the Verizon store and tried out a display Razr M and it had the same problem. This is very noticeable over headphones when listening in a quiet room. The behavior is independent of audio source, headphone type and speaker vs. headphone jack.

The speaker phone has a LOUD hissing sound whenever I dial out. By "speaker phone", I mean that when I dial a phone number, I click on the "Speaker" button in the dial pad to have a hands free phone call. This is an essential feature for me as I have phone conference meetings where I need to be using the computer and thus need my hands free.
The hissing sound is consistent and remains there for the entire call. When someone speaks it is reduced but when silence comes back, the hissing takes over
In two years of using the 920, I NEVER had an issue with the speaker phone in thousands of conversations, even after I upgraded to Cyan.
However, from day one, the 1520 speaker phone has a background hissing sound. Even with a 4 or 5 bar LTE connection (I live in DFW). Lowering the speaker volume to 5 (from 10), lowers the hissing sound but does not eliminate it.
As there are no audio controls (other than the Equalizer)...
I get static noise when I plug in specific pairs of headphones into my HTC one m8. When I try them with my other devices, I don't hear any static noises. Is there something wrong with my device?

i dont like my phone to make a noise unless its ringing or i have a new text or email. i went to settings and disabled keyboard sounds but i can not find any way to turn of the nasty noise that i now get with every movement on words with friends. I have to manually mute it each time i pop on to play and remember to turn it back up again after.

Conventional headphones have a 3.5 mm stereo jack, with three connections. The headphones supplied with the Lumia use a 3.5mm jack with four connections.
My concern is whether using the conventional jack will permanently short-out two of the connections, causing unwanted side-effects or damage to the phone?
I'd also like to use the headphone output to connect the phone to my stereo, which I presume will be fine, as long as the three v four connection jack issue isn't a problem.
I am having an issue with the bluetooth audio, when streaming to a speaker or headphones a high pitch noise is present in the background. This occurs whenever anything audio is playing music or notification sounds. Not sure if its hardware or software related?
View 12 Replies View Related1. I can't disconnect calls. I generally happens when I'm on back to back calls. The phone becomes unresponsive for about 10~15 seconds before you could do anything with it.
2. When I'm listening to music and someone calls me, I hear a sharp noise when phone call overlaps music. Once I disconnect the call, the volume in the headsets remains fixed, you can't reduce or increase the volume. The solution here is to remove the headset from phone and plug them back in. If that doesn't work then re-start the phone!
Last night I was listening to musc on my Lumia 920. I unplugged the headphones and wnet to use the phone a few minutes later. no sound comes out tof the speakers now the headphones sill work great, but it I cannot make a call without my headset now. I know the phone thinks the headphones are plugged in, because the sounds settings allow me to adjust the equalizer (w/o headphones plugged in this option is not available).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm on my second 900 now and both have had this problem. The output volume for the headphones is extremely low even at 30/30. I feel like max volume should be loud enough that I never need to use it. I find myself not even being able to hear music at 30/30 when I'm downtown or on the subway. It feels like medium volume on anything else and it seems like it should really be 20/30.
I've posted this on other forums and it seems like all the phones are the same. Can Nokia just implement a simple sofware fix for this? Its riduclous that this got through the testing phase. Do they even know about it?
compared with 610/710 in dealer shop when changed background color to "white" ,and check the screen Lumia 800/900 screen "wihte" inclined to a little bit "green" obviousely compared with 610/710, they're looks really "white"
But explained by dealer, it's because of screen made from different material, is it TURE?
BTW, looks like some IM softwares not able to keep "online" status if run in back-end. Is it TRUE and no solution?
i just noticed that whenever i text and the background is white, the screen usually blinks a little but noticeable,, for example here i will text this is white background i will see from here that my screen is blinking while im texting specially when i'll touch the space bar.. Uhmm its not a major problem but i found it somewht annoying on my part because my friend has a nokia lumia 610 and i already tried what ive tried on my nokia lumia 900 and it seems that his phone has no problem regarding with the littleness blinking screen.. Hmmm it is only 6days old phone.,Fyi guys ive tried to adjust the brightness to low,medium and high. And switch to white screen background would i just reset the phone?? Does someone experiencing what im experiencing right now??

It appears that whenever u get to a webpage (or application) that contains a white background and black text (which is usually the case in most pages!) and u look closely u can notice some moire effects that appears as horizontal white lines next to the text and these lines follows the text even when scrolling!! This is specially notable when u zoom in on a text or place the handset in landscape mode. Also the same moire effect appears but with vertical lines shifting between red and white as u zoom in and out of a picture with a white background! And No I don't have any screen protector (that in some cases can cause this effect) and Yes this is clearly a display issue because of these lines are being followed by my scrolling and not on a specific area on the display!

I then called my phone from other phone and it was like the noise cancelling wasn't working, it was awful. After a restart it was the same. I solved it with a soft reset..until next time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using my 950XL for just over a week now. This morning while the phone was (wirelessly) charging on my Nokia Qi charger I noticed a soft clicking sound. It comes from the phone and it stops when I pick it up from the charger plate. (Well it does now, this morning I had to reboot the phone for it to stop)
Anyway, I found this clip on YouTube which is the exact sound mine is making too. Just search for "950 xl clicking" on YouTube. Do all 950(XL)'s make this noise? And is it a sign of trouble ahead?
Just noticed that whenever the phone wants to make a tone through the speaker, it will have a lot of background noise along with that sound. That background noise will prolong for a few second after finishing the tone it's supposed to make, then goes back to being silent.
For example, if I start typing on my keyboard, the phone obviously will play the key sound. The background noise will start but then will go back silent a few second after I finish typing.
I was sitting at my desk and all the sudden I hear a high pitched whistle or whine coming from my phone. I picked it up and it is locked. I can't turn it on, I can't turn it off and it just keeps making that noise. A minute later, the noise stops and the phone reboots.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Lumia 950 has started making a little hiss and 'pop' noise every six seconds when I'm not using it. I first noticed it last night, because the phone was on a bedside table in a quiet room. Rebooting the phone fixed it at the time, but today I noticed that it was making the noise again. Every six seconds it sounds as if I had gently tapped the plastic body of the Lumia with a fingernail. It's clearly audible in a quiet room when the phone is in my pocket.If I raise the Lumia 950 and put the rear speaker to my ear, I hear about a second of white-noise static followed by a "pop" noise. Hiss-pop. When the phone is unlocked and in use, the speaker makes a contiuous low static hiss. It only hiss-pops when the screen is in standby. Volume levels and disabling glance seem to have no effect. Putting it into airplane mode also has no impact, so I guess it's not likely to be interference from the radios?

While taking a photo in a silent environment, I just noticed that the camera module of my Lumia 1020 (running the Black update) is making a weird 'fan'-like noise - akin to when your laptop in becoming warm. You can only hear it, if the the camera module is placed close to your ear. Is this normal,
