Mar 7, 2012Everybody is aware about strongest point about Nokia fones. Because of easy usage and battery life. After installing Nokia Belle in my Nokia N8, i feel that my battery drains down very badly. ITS ALREADY BEEN POSTED BY MANY NOKIATES. I need some suggestions to gain battery life. I have followed all the methods to increase my battery life (using only 4 home screens, using battery Monitor to check which applications use more batter life, screensavers => off, digital clock, background black, theme black, Mail widget off, Search widget off) but i seriously dont understand the funda behind 'Battery Monitor' application, my 70% of battery life is taken by 'Background'; Anybody knows what does this background actually means in 'BAttery Monitor' application? I am not sure why my battery is getting empty very soon, it wasnt lik this when i was using Symbian Anna OS.Everyday when i sleep by 11 PM and in morning my mob is switched off ( No problem with my battery since it wasnt like this with Symbian Anna OS). Can somebody explain what are all the background application is running with Belle OS ?

Jun 23, 2010I have just purchased the Nokia x6 which I received on Monday. after 2 days trying to set up the Ovi maps, a friend told me that i had to go into tools, navigation and do something in there for the maps to work but after going into tools I discovered there was no navigation option. The software is has an option for a license key which I don't have and didn't think iI needed as it clearly states on the box 'Free OVI Maps forever' but maps just don't work and I stumped to why there is no navigation option which my friends phone has.

May 11, 2012I've been struggling with battery drain for a while now. Previously, I had my email set to "fetch every 15 minutes." I noticed that my usage rate each hour would go up by about 30 minutes even while the phone remained in my pocket on standby, with my battery draining around 10% each hour. I changed my email to "fetch every hour" and saw my battery life increasing. Finally, I changed the email setting to fetch "manually" and have noticed that now my usage rate more accurately reflects my actual usage and I am satisfied with my battery life. It seems like I have narrowed down my battery issue to my email settings. However, I would like to be able to have my email sent to my phone without having to manually update it each time. Any email settings or other settings I could change to increase my battery life?

Despite the fact that all of my previously purchased apps appeared in "My Stuff" section in Ovi Store applications, i cant download it, they only offer me to buy it again, I tried to solve this problem using pc, i wanted to download apps to pc from ovi store website and then move to phone. But all i can do - send a link to phone, and there i was offered to buy app again. It's just shocking omission of Ovi Store, that repels future purchases.

Aug 1, 2011After upgrading to 2.3.4 my battery is drained from 100% to about 5% in about 3 hours. I noticed that data is constantly being sent and received. It seems if I change my emaill devlivery option on corporate sync email accounts from push to a periodic time, things gets much better. If I delete all but 1 coorporate sync email account battery life also returns to something tolerable. I am not receiving a lot of emails (less than 20 emails messages during the time). It seems as though multiple corporate sync emails accounts was broken in Gingerbread in a way that push email is not practical as battery is consumed and data is rate is too high. Without receiving any email had exchanged a few MB of data in less than an hour. Having single corporate sync account alleviate the data load and extended the battery life back to normal.

Jul 19, 2010As a spare time J2ME developer I sometimes run into the annoying security issues, that makes messages popup, and requires my application to be signed if I want to avoid those popups. A certificate costs about $300-$500 a year, which is a lot for a spare time developer who's not making money on it, but mostly is just developing applications to myself. The alternative solution is to put my own root certificate on my phone. In order to do this I need one of the tools that lets me hack my firmware, as far as I understand.
My question is, which one of those tools would be best for me to use? Which one lets me add my own certificate to e.g. a W800 or W760 relatively simple (and preferably free)? Back in the old days I tried Far Manager to give my W800 another set of icons, and a boot-up splash image. I remember nothing about it though, except that it looked like a DOS program, and I bet there are simpler ways to do it today. I've also tried DaVinci very briefly once I needed a free service - but needed to pay anyway to get access to that free service. So which tool would you recommend me, if all I need to do is to give my phone an additional Java Certificate?

However, I would like to have the functionality that i have been used to with my previous phone, the Motorola Razr. I would like to be able to send SMS from my PC via the connected iPhone, without Jailbreaking my phone. I have googled and found iPhone PC Suite, however it states you need a Jailbreak phone and i don't want to jailbreak the phone.There is a Japanese that has the functionality I'm looking for.
