View 4 RepliesI got problems with ovi map 3.04. I can launch it and all is okai. But he can't find me, when i'm not connected to internet. When i connect to WLAN it's working, and its find me where i'm. But when i go outside and turn it. He can't find where i'm. But i can look all ower the map.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI want to buy one of these and am fed up waiting for it to be released in the UK. 'European' editions are available on the net - if there are any differences between these and those that will eventually be available here?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just submitted the following questions to Nokia Support, but hope to get some additional insight here.
I'm looking at buying the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition Unlocked Phone and have a couple of questions.
If I don't activate the phone immediately with a service provider,
- will I still be able to have full access to the internet and email whenever a Wi-Fi network is available?
- and, will I also have full access to the GPS navigation facilities of the unit?
Does the 5800 Navigation model lack any features that are available with the 5800 XpressMusic model? The 'compare' function at the Nokia website seems to show the exact same specs for both models.
I know the E5 has already been release in the UK (July 30th) but when is it due to be released in Australia? It seems like the "coming soon" tag has been allocated to this phone for months now.

I have a problem with my Nokia 5230 Navigation Edition: when I launch OVI Maps application and choose desired route, I have only a message: "Waiting for GPS" - all the time, no matter where I am - in the big city, in the countryside, on the field - still no fix caught. I have latest OVI Maps version installed and all settings set to rely on built-in GPS module.Do You have any ideas how to make my 5230 NE to be really NE?

View 2 Replies View RelatedLooks like its coming out june 4th for $199! Anyone else considering jumping ship and getting into one of these? Ive been with AT&T for about 4 years now, sititng with an iPhone for most of it, and a Nexus One for a few months, but for the cheaper plan (assumed) i think im gioing to go the route of the Evo 4G. $129 plus a 18% discount vs. $161 after discount sounds even much more appealing now that theres a beautiful phone behind it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe know there is the mobilesafari exploit which allows untethered start-up for new bootrom 3GS and iPod touch devices. There is a good chance the geohot has found the same exploit. Now that Apple have it narrowed down to mobilesafari, will they not try to find the exploit themselves before releasing any significant update?

I also have Google maps on my 5800 and maps and photo of my estate are there. Even my 3 year old navman in-car shows my estate. Mmmm free and oout of date. I'll stick to Google maps.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my Nokia 5800 a year ago.Updated Nokia mobile Ovi software and Nokia maps 3.01. When I start navigation and chose a specific root, I noticed that it does not locate my position at all. And when starting the navigation it give "waiting for GPS message" and the signal intensity of GPS is about flashing one bar.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI live in Brazil and recently bought a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. I've installed the Ovi Maps 2.0 and download, through the nokia program the maps for Brazil and Brazilian Portuguese voice. During the "Drive"/"Walk" options in Ovi Maps, there is no voice. I don't know what to do. I've checked the updates on the phone software and map software through the computer and it says as the last version.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWell I've had this PREPAY ph for 4 years and as far as I know, if I don't select A-GPS, it doesn't use data - until recently! (Maps V3.06 - maybe I've updated this recently). Is this possible or have I made an error somewhere?Settings: Positioning> Assisted GPS = Off, Integrated GPS = ON, Bluetooth GPS = Off, Wi-Fi/Network = Off, Network based = Off.But on two recent test trips, my prepay balance reduces by exactly $1 and my Log>Data counter shows about 500 kB received (less sent as I recall - zeroed since). Note: $1 is standard Voda daily data rate per day in NZ up to 1 MB.So I'm pretty sure the GPS is costing me $1/day even though I have A-GPS et al switched off! In both tests I ensured I have not used the phone for anything but navigation (using Walk navigation with voice).

View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone got the new (v3.6) Ovi Maps working properly on a 5800? On mine it keeps locking up, sometimes I get the "memory full" error and then the app crashes... other times it restarts the whole phone (white NOKIA screen). I have latest firmware, and v3.4 works very well.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have Nokia 5800 with 3.06 maps and would like to download POI files in .gpx format, from an association website to my phone map files. Is this possible and does the Nokia maps programme accept these files as .gpx or in a converted format?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to import a LMX file with 200 waypoints of a walk in Scotland which I wish to do.
Ignoring the fact that this may not result in a useful waypoint file, I have so far created the file in both GPX and KML formats and converted each to LMX format using GPSBabel and then stored the LMX file on the 5800.
Once saved on my 5800, I am able to load the LMX file and end up with 200 discrete POI's in my Favourites (which is not really what I want!) but more worringly, the points when viewed on OVI maps are placed in the Indian Ocean no matter which format I convert from.
If I can find out why the co-ords are duff and get a good output file I will then see if I can create the waypoint file I actually need,
The LMX and GPX files are attached
i'm using 5800 express music edition, coudln't install ovi map and is there any other suggestion? and when i use google map the wifi connection can't be selected. it's always using 3G service.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and installed maps of Australia and the surfer dude voice using map loader. However my maps application did not detect any drive navigation voice. When I browsed the voices folder however it was there.i had to download another voice thru the maps application (sadly no surfer dud) in order to get voice navigation. Is there any reason for this? I am using a 5800 with v31 and im using maps v3.04. Although with both v3.03 and 3.04 the same problem was there.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 5800 Nav Edition. I just upgraded to the new 3.03 Ovi maps. Does Ovi Maps speak out street names in the route navigation?? For me it just says "Turn right in 1 mile" .. no street name! It would be very helpful if this feature was included. Am I missing something on how to enable text to speech so that it speaks street names?
