I want to buy one of these and am fed up waiting for it to be released in the UK. 'European' editions are available on the net - if there are any differences between these and those that will eventually be available here?

I just submitted the following questions to Nokia Support, but hope to get some additional insight here.
I'm looking at buying the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition Unlocked Phone and have a couple of questions.
If I don't activate the phone immediately with a service provider,
- will I still be able to have full access to the internet and email whenever a Wi-Fi network is available?
- and, will I also have full access to the GPS navigation facilities of the unit?
Does the 5800 Navigation model lack any features that are available with the 5800 XpressMusic model? The 'compare' function at the Nokia website seems to show the exact same specs for both models.
When will Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition be released in United Kingdom? I have been waiting for this phone to release in UK for so long and still no sign of its release in UK.
I have a problem with my Nokia 5230 Navigation Edition: when I launch OVI Maps application and choose desired route, I have only a message: "Waiting for GPS" - all the time, no matter where I am - in the big city, in the countryside, on the field - still no fix caught. I have latest OVI Maps version installed and all settings set to rely on built-in GPS module.Do You have any ideas how to make my 5230 NE to be really NE?
I have a nokia 5800 version 31.0.101 when I go to OVI maps no map is loaded the GPS works but the maps do not its all green, I can zoom out and see the world but if I zoom in there's nothing, it was working for my local area but I could not search or see anywhere else, I traveled 100 miles yesterday from where I lived but the map never loaded when I got there either.Today I have reinstalled the latest maps, (over written) that didn't work in fact I lost the local area now too. I then did a hard reset still no maps ,I installed the navigation maps from OVI. it updated the options to navigation but still no maps, so I am now at a loss I hope someone can help
I bought my Nokia 5800 a year ago.Updated Nokia mobile Ovi software and Nokia maps 3.01. When I start navigation and chose a specific root, I noticed that it does not locate my position at all. And when starting the navigation it give "waiting for GPS message" and the signal intensity of GPS is about flashing one bar.
I live in Brazil and recently bought a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. I've installed the Ovi Maps 2.0 and download, through the nokia program the maps for Brazil and Brazilian Portuguese voice. During the "Drive"/"Walk" options in Ovi Maps, there is no voice. I don't know what to do. I've checked the updates on the phone software and map software through the computer and it says as the last version.
iv finaly managed to dwnload maps on my 5800,on start up the voice gives one command then says buy liscence, how do i overcome this?its says my liscence expired and when i upadte it gives me the price.
When I check the installed applications on my Nokia 5800, i see a Nokia Maps and an OVI Maps. What is the difference between the two? Do I really need both maps? or I need both for the GPS w/ navigation to work?
Well I've had this PREPAY ph for 4 years and as far as I know, if I don't select A-GPS, it doesn't use data - until recently! (Maps V3.06 - maybe I've updated this recently). Is this possible or have I made an error somewhere?Settings: Positioning> Assisted GPS = Off, Integrated GPS = ON, Bluetooth GPS = Off, Wi-Fi/Network = Off, Network based = Off.But on two recent test trips, my prepay balance reduces by exactly $1 and my Log>Data counter shows about 500 kB received (less sent as I recall - zeroed since). Note: $1 is standard Voda daily data rate per day in NZ up to 1 MB.So I'm pretty sure the GPS is costing me $1/day even though I have A-GPS et al switched off! In both tests I ensured I have not used the phone for anything but navigation (using Walk navigation with voice).
Has anyone got the new (v3.6) Ovi Maps working properly on a 5800? On mine it keeps locking up, sometimes I get the "memory full" error and then the app crashes... other times it restarts the whole phone (white NOKIA screen). I have latest firmware, and v3.4 works very well.
I have Nokia 5800 with 3.06 maps and would like to download POI files in .gpx format, from an association website to my phone map files. Is this possible and does the Nokia maps programme accept these files as .gpx or in a converted format?
I am trying to import a LMX file with 200 waypoints of a walk in Scotland which I wish to do.
Ignoring the fact that this may not result in a useful waypoint file, I have so far created the file in both GPX and KML formats and converted each to LMX format using GPSBabel and then stored the LMX file on the 5800.
Once saved on my 5800, I am able to load the LMX file and end up with 200 discrete POI's in my Favourites (which is not really what I want!) but more worringly, the points when viewed on OVI maps are placed in the Indian Ocean no matter which format I convert from.
If I can find out why the co-ords are duff and get a good output file I will then see if I can create the waypoint file I actually need,
i'm using 5800 express music edition, coudln't install ovi map and is there any other suggestion? and when i use google map the wifi connection can't be selected. it's always using 3G service.
How can I search for coordinates in Ovi Maps on a Nokia 5800?I tried various coordinate formats in the search places dialog - all return "not found".Even the format that Ovi maps generates when sending a location does not work. (!)
I downloaded and installed maps of Australia and the surfer dude voice using map loader. However my maps application did not detect any drive navigation voice. When I browsed the voices folder however it was there.i had to download another voice thru the maps application (sadly no surfer dud) in order to get voice navigation. Is there any reason for this? I am using a 5800 with v31 and im using maps v3.04. Although with both v3.03 and 3.04 the same problem was there.
I have a Nokia 5800 Nav Edition. I just upgraded to the new 3.03 Ovi maps. Does Ovi Maps speak out street names in the route navigation?? For me it just says "Turn right in 1 mile" .. no street name! It would be very helpful if this feature was included. Am I missing something on how to enable text to speech so that it speaks street names?

Has any one been able to connect the 5330 mobiletv edition to his/her TV set? Tried it with a Nokia AV cable and got NO results. Does this phone support TV out?
I recently bought a 2710 navigate edition and I can't put it to vibrate. My General and Silent modes are set to vibrate but they do not vibrate. Am I missing something here ? Also what's (what does it) for the option Menu>Settings>Phone>Sensor ? What does it do when is ON ?
I havent found any settings to adjust the brighness of the display in my new Nokia 2710. But the manual says that i should reduce the brightness if i wanted to save battery power. Did i miss something? I think its just not implemented! Thats very disappointing, since the dispaly is too bright to use it as a navigation device at night in the car.
The Ovi Store on my 5530 XM Games Edition just gets stuck on the splash screen and the store itself doesn't even load. How can I fix this? Also I was browsing the Nokia Store and I notice that there is a Nokia Music Headset HS-45, AD 54.....I was wondering if this fully works with the 5530 XM Games Edition because the main reason I want to get this is for music control....And also, does this headset have a mic in it?
I installed Nokia Navigation 2.0 with some maps on my Lumia phone. But how can I find out the version of the installed maps? And how can I check the actual existing version of the maps on the Nokia server?
If instructions upon page 77 of N9 UG (Eng) not clear enough you do need to download appropriate voice file with street names as none installed by default. After you have chosen "Walking person" icon > Get directions > Navigate you need to tap upon grey tool bar at base of screen After selecting Voice Guidance > tap on select voice to reveal choices available.
