I purchased nokia 5800 less than 3 months ago and from last 2 months camera is broken on the phone causing a grainy and shady image. I compared it with my other phone with 1 mp camera and its worst. I sent the phone to repairs to nokia but they updated the software without checking it.
I was able to get 3gp to play (although it was stretched to 16:9) but the audio quality was very poor. Nokia 5800
View 7 Replies View RelatedHaving a bit of trouble with the quality of pictures taken from the main camera on my N97.Although, I have the resolution set to max (5mp), the pictures that come out dont look anything like 5mp resolution.I say this because I had a N82 before this which had a 5mp camera, which I guess was pretty much same as N97. I still have my old phone so I compared pictures from both (same object, same conditions) and pictures from N82 were still a lot better than N97.
I have the latest firmware on N97 and have tried all different setting and even tried a hard reset, but cant have it to take good pictures. Although the size once I copy them to my computer says 2592x1944, the details are no where there what they should be.
I bought a new n97 mini. Everything is working fine except the camera. The image looks foggy and blurred. Its not only with the camera pictures but also with the video recordings. When I do a half-press (focus), the preview looks decent but the picture taken is bad. Looks like a picture taken in a 1MP cam! I have tested some N97 mini's camera in some shops and I was impressed. Hence I brought it. But unfortunately it looks like a problem in my mobile!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My main usage is Camera and its very frustrating to see images with such bad quality!
I have taken a few photos with the 5800XM. However, I have noted that photos appear grainy.I have also tested the various settings on the camera with no joy.Can someone advice if it is an issue with the camera/phone quality of 5800XM?

I am surprised no one has reported this matter. On a discussion on beta labs D.Dinning said that there's no need to install the previously released camera update for n8 after updating to belle.

However, after pressing the camera button and going via the menu, the green circle shows that camera is open even though it isn't.Sometimes when i turn it off and on again, it will take on photo then stop working.Does anybody know what I can do?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had a virus in my PC a few days ago, actually a Trijan, which Symantec was able to remove without requiring my Laptop to be formatted.But after that Camera stopped working, neither from hardware button, nor from applications. I reinstalled the firmware 30.xx and it started working again.
Now again Camera has stopped working, and also i have noticed, that when i click the arrow to go to next message, it goes to some months old messages randomly.DO i need some sort of formatting ? Will only hard reset work ? Is it some sort of virus on my cell?
i turn on my nokia 5800. i can play all videos on the internet and on my phone at the minute.then whenever i go to the camera i can take one picture but when i press the back button it just shows me a black screen an i cant take photos anymore, also whenever i switch to video mode it also just shows me a black screen.whenever this problem occurs i can no longer watch any videos on my phone or watch any Internet videos as i just get audio and yet again the black screen. ive just tried a soft reset and no luck.only way to fix this until i access the camera again is to turn of my phone and turn it back on but this only fixes the problem until i go on camera.anyone have a solution to this problem or had this problem before?

My iPhone takes quite blurry pictures. I was just wondering if there were any ways of cleaning it or anything that i could do to get the picture quality back to what it used to be.. Everything works fine except the camera. When I active the camera I can see that the application is started (seeing the indication in the menu) BUT I can't see the application. Thus I cannot take pictures.

About camera:
When I turn on the phone and go to the camera it works. I can take few photos and close it. But when I try to run it again there is only black screen. I have to reset my phone to open it once again.
About videos:
Very similar problem. I can watch few videos, but If I close the player and run it again, there is only sound and black screen. I must reset my phone to watch it again...

I have HTC One M8 but when I take photo, the quality is like from 2 megapixel camera. I don't know where is the problem, is it software or hardware. Even with flash activated in very decent indoor light, the shutter speed seems to default to 1/20 second. Since it's virtually impossible to hold any camera - much less an iPhone - perfectly still at that slow of a speed, the shots are predictably blurry and most are simply unusable. (BTW, none of the shots I'm describing are zoomed and hdr is off.)

If I use the sequence mode the 5800 camera shoots a series of photos fast. I want to adjust this time interval. The Nokia 5800 user manual says that this is possible by selecting the desired time interval.

Tried camera through apps does same thing and it does not show it open also. It will not play any videos just sound. I watch bbciplayer a lot on my phone and all I get is sound it just comes up and says unable to play video or sound but I can hear the sound. Just not see the video and also vidoes what I have took on my phone done soft and hard reset firmware update.

Most probably x10MP uses the same camera sensor but shoots less noisier photos(though lacks details than XMP). x10MP's minimum ISO is 40 but XMP's minimum is 64. For photos, improving Post Processing Algorithms like 2x1 chroma subsampling and noise reduction will make this device much better.
