Nokia :: 5800XM - Camera Quality - Photos Appear Grainy
Jun 29, 2010I have taken a few photos with the 5800XM. However, I have noted that photos appear grainy.I have also tested the various settings on the camera with no joy.Can someone advice if it is an issue with the camera/phone quality of 5800XM?

Most probably x10MP uses the same camera sensor but shoots less noisier photos(though lacks details than XMP). x10MP's minimum ISO is 40 but XMP's minimum is 64. For photos, improving Post Processing Algorithms like 2x1 chroma subsampling and noise reduction will make this device much better.

Jan 5, 2010Having a bit of trouble with the quality of pictures taken from the main camera on my N97.Although, I have the resolution set to max (5mp), the pictures that come out dont look anything like 5mp resolution.I say this because I had a N82 before this which had a 5mp camera, which I guess was pretty much same as N97. I still have my old phone so I compared pictures from both (same object, same conditions) and pictures from N82 were still a lot better than N97.
I have the latest firmware on N97 and have tried all different setting and even tried a hard reset, but cant have it to take good pictures. Although the size once I copy them to my computer says 2592x1944, the details are no where there what they should be.

Jul 2, 2010I don't know how it happened, but the plastic cover(mounted to camera) which covers the lens & flash has an oblique crack across it.
It's not interfering with picture-taking (and I still have the removable clear plastic cover over the top (the one that comes with new camera).Is it worth repairing ?If so, how would I go about this ?

Mar 30, 2010I purchased nokia 5800 less than 3 months ago and from last 2 months camera is broken on the phone causing a grainy and shady image. I compared it with my other phone with 1 mp camera and its worst. I sent the phone to repairs to nokia but they updated the software without checking it.
Nokia :: N97 Mini Poor Camera Quality
Feb 15, 2010I bought a new n97 mini. Everything is working fine except the camera. The image looks foggy and blurred. Its not only with the camera pictures but also with the video recordings. When I do a half-press (focus), the preview looks decent but the picture taken is bad. Looks like a picture taken in a 1MP cam! I have tested some N97 mini's camera in some shops and I was impressed. Hence I brought it. But unfortunately it looks like a problem in my mobile!
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My main usage is Camera and its very frustrating to see images with such bad quality!

May 31, 2010Just got my 9700 a few weeks ago. The screen is fantastic, the pictures & photos that I transferred to my SD card are shown on the screen with razor sharpness. At least for a while. Then I noticed that when I viewed the photos again from Media -> Pictures, the photos becomes less sharp and appear heavily compressed. This is for both the thumbnail view and the fullscreen sroll view. Does anyone noticed this?
But when I click on Fit to Screen or View Actual Size, the photos become razor sharp again. How do I get the photos to appear razor sharp in the fullscreen scroll view (where I can scroll left and right for next/previous photo)?
If there are no solution to the above, is there any 3rd party app that will allow us to view the photos in fullscreen (and can be scrolled left or right) in full razor sharpness?

Jun 27, 2010I bought a Nokia 6700 slide mobile on the 26th of June, 2010. I had a great liking for this phone before buying it. The 5MP Carl Zeiss optics camera, ALS display and so many other features impressed me. But when I purchased this mobile for my birthday on June 26th, I was very much disappointed with the camera quality. Despite having a 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens, the pictures taken by the camera are of very poor clarity. The clarity is similar to a 1.3 MP camera and is worse when pictures are shot in any lighting condition. I had great hopes on this camera after reading so many good reviews from several websites. But, this camera is not on par with my expectations and has failed me. My Nokia 7210 Supernova mobile which I had earlier used to take pictures of excellent clarity.
Are there any adjustments to be made before taking a picture? I've used all modes specified in the Options but to no avail.

Aug 3, 2012a few days ago I accidentally dropped my phone and since then the camera has gone weird. When I look at the camera the shutter is not there and it looks like I'm about to take a photo. Its almost like the shutter is stuck. When I go onto my camera app there is no picture and it looks like I am in a dark room when I am not, but the options, exit and ect show up. Nov 30, 2013Twice recently it has happened to me that I have completely lost pictures when reframing with the Nokia Camera app.The following has happened:
I opened a photo from the camera roll in Nokia Camera, reframed it, clicked save. As usual, the progress bar indicates that the app is working, but then an error message appears, saying nothing except "an error occured. Please try again later", and then the photo is gone.
When looking at the camera roll folder on the computer, one sees that the 5MP photo file has a size of 0 bytes, and the highres file has vanished completely from the phone.

May 22, 2012My iPhone 4s has suddenly changed to a really poor picture quality, today i compared it with my friend's iPhone 4s and the difference was astonishing. My iPhone takes quite blurry pictures. I was just wondering if there were any ways of cleaning it or anything that i could do to get the picture quality back to what it used to be..
