Nokia :: 5230 Is Phone Capable To Play High Res Video?
Feb 21, 2010
Okay, the video problem only happens when I use High resolution Video Mode( Tv and Widescreen Mode). It always lags when I play it. What happened? Is my phone capable to play High Res Video?
I am looking for some help to solve a video playback issue on my Nokia 5230. Can you help me out?I converted a movie from a DVD into mp4 format with correct settings, but my phone cannot play the video.
I encoded several shorter music videos with exactly the same settings, and they play perfectly on the phone. I did the encoding using Handbrake. My phone plays only the sound, after giving this error message:"Unable to play either sound or video clip. Trying to play partially"These are the video properties( I found out using Media Player Classic):
Video: MPEG4 Video 720x552 (128:69) 29.97fps
I wonder if it is possible to change maximum video capturing resolution (programmably) from 640x480 @30fps to lets say 720x480 @ 25 fps (720p would be beyond my expectations anyway). I guess there should not be any dramatic quality drop because of 5 fps, but the quality of picture will be somewhat better - similar to DVD resolution.
Does Nokia 5230 have video calling option? Before I bought it, the store told me that it's one pf those phones who doesn't have a secondary camera, but it does have video calling. Is that possible and is that the case with this phone? It's actually one of the reasons that I bought it, so I'm kind of disappointed I can't find a way to use it.
Video Call Time up to 3.0 hours.so I'd expect it does have it.
Is it important that I bought it here in Slovenia?
How do you make a video call on the Nokia Nuron 5230? I noticed there was a small camera on the front of the phone screen, byt the ear speaker... Did some looking around and it's a secondary camera that can only be used for video calls. Yet, I cannot find anything about how to make one. There's no option for it on the phone either, that I have been able to find.
I want to convert a few video clips to play back on my 5230 at the highest possible quality settings. Which container/bitrate/frame rate/aspect ratio would give those results? I know the resolution of the phone is 640x360 but any clips at that resolution are unable to play. I'm experimenting with combinations at the minute but it would be a lot quicker if I could just get a definite answer.Official playback specs are 640x360/??/30fps/?? but no mention of ideal bitrate, aspect ratio or container, ie MP4/3gp etc etc.
I have a HTC one M7 and I was recording a video on my phone but when I clicked stop it said it was saving but then my phone froze and shut off. When I look in my gallery it shows the video is there but I can't play the video. Every time I click the video it says "Warning: media file type not supported". I've uploaded the video to my computer and it still won't play.
If I'm playing a video from a website on google chrome (for example), is it possible to get that video to play through a blu-ray, via bluetooth connection?
I'd like to do this by way of an app or DNLA, etc (trying to avoid using an HDMI cable if at all possible.)
I was watching some videos and it seems my phone... hmm how do I put this. I can play them but nothing comes up so I check if its the video but no its just staying on 0:00 on every video either it's on the browser or youtube I can't play it. Its like its frozen
I keep getting the error can't play video or invalid url for videos recorded on the phone. Sony support told me to do a phone repair but it has made no difference.
I used my Torch to film two videos a few minutes apart. Both play on the phone - video and sound are perfect. When I copy them to my computer one of them plays just fine - the other only the sound - no picture. I've uploaded the file several times with same results. I've used the bb app to upload the files as well as windows explorer copy... always same result...
i have been trying to figure out a way to can see the videos sent to my phone from another phone but i havent find aa way. i have trying different texting apps, sent videos to my phone from different phones making them really short and nothing, i just cant open it.
Got the new Nexus 5 and found that flash video playing is totally incompatible with the Android 4.4 Kitkat, no t in Dolphin, not in Firefox and other browsers. This is too bad and I can't imagine it just happened.
I digged into the code since then and found that some critical APIs have been removed from Android 4.4 that flash uses.

After several days of coding, I finally found a way out with a hacked flash player. Being so excited and i can't wait wo share it. Here is the guide about how to install the hacked one and how to play flash content in the sites in Dolphin Browser.
1) Download Dolphin Browser
Surprised, Dolphin just push a 10.2.0 update version to me and I found Dolphin Jetpack was built-in. This means you don't have to install 2 separate APK now.
Here is the Download Link: .....
Warning: You must have Dolphin Jetpack on in the settings to enjoy it. As far as I have noticed, Dolphin Jetpack better solves the compatibility with flash player, such as crash issue & freeze issue in full screen.
2) Download the hacked flash player HERE
Warning: Make sure that you have uninstall the flash player installed in your device and then install the hacked one for compatibility reason.
If your devices refused to install apk outside Google Play, you may set in your device (Settings> Securities> Unknown resources) to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
3) Make sure that the flash setting in Dolphin Browser (Click Menu>Settings>Web Content>Flash Player) is on.
Flash Player is not officially supported and therefore the speed of loading of flash video may be slow. However, I have tried many sites such as YouTube and Hulu. They all work properly with satisfactory results.
Upgraded to iOS5.1 and where my phone said 3G it now says 4G (At&t phone).. Why do this if apparently the current 4S models are not capable of 4G technology?
Do we know yet if the 950 supports 120 FPS video at 1080P and 240FPS video at 720P?!
The Lumia cameras have always given excellent quality, but they are SLOW. I did see in the hands on video with Daniel at the press event that, at least for taking pictures, they were fast! But I want high speed video as well?!
I'm a E72 user together with a Parrot CK3000EVO Bluetooth Car Handsfree attached to my VW Stereo.I earlier used this setup with a HTC Diamond. Back then I didn't receive phone sounds (like SMS, reminders etc) through the Handsfree. Only Phone calls were transmitted. However, with my E72 every single sound is transmitted to the BT Handsfree including Maps voice guidance. The later is OK, but it is way louder then for example Phone Call Volume. It also interrupts ongoing phone calls which is highly irritating. So I've got two questions in hope for help:Anyone knows how to tune the sound from Maps? Lower the Volume? Is there a way to stop sound like alerts, reminders, bleeps etc on the E72 to be delivered to BT Handsfree? Is there a way to stop Maps interrupting Phone Calls?
What are the best properties for a video to be play on a nokia n81? What kind of programs can i use to convert my videos so i can watch them on my n81?
When I try to play a youtub video (or any video from a website e.g. from FB) it loads and plays for 2 seconds then closes and I get told my memory is full and to close down some apps. But usually the only app open is my internet browser (Opera Mobile).
i was wondering if anyone else had the problem with a high pitched noise in the background of a video recording during the playback of the video? I couldnt really find any good explanation over the web. i can only hear it after ive recorded the video and ive tested it in a quiet room with no interference but its still there in the background.
I was wondering can anyone help me. i have been trying to transfer films to my n97mini using the ovi package. it seems to convert ok and transfer but when i try to play the films on my phone they all seem to freeze at the 25min to 27min mark during playback, but the sound keeps playing.
