Apr 25, 2010How do you make a video call on the Nokia Nuron 5230? I noticed there was a small camera on the front of the phone screen, byt the ear speaker... Did some looking around and it's a secondary camera that can only be used for video calls. Yet, I cannot find anything about how to make one.There's no option for it on the phone either, that I have been able to find.

Jul 12, 2010I am looking for some help to solve a video playback issue on my Nokia 5230. Can you help me out?I converted a movie from a DVD into mp4 format with correct settings, but my phone cannot play the video.
I encoded several shorter music videos with exactly the same settings, and they play perfectly on the phone. I did the encoding using Handbrake. My phone plays only the sound, after giving this error message:"Unable to play either sound or video clip. Trying to play partially"These are the video properties( I found out using Media Player Classic):

Feb 22, 2010I got my nokia 5800XM on oct 2009.Videos and pictures in the memory card get disappeared or getting corrupted.Because of this I lost all my valuable photos and videos, I will not be able to get back all those moments again. I really hate this phone because of this problem.I did a reset of the phone then also I had the same problem last week.I want to know whether this problem is because of the memory card or firmware. My music files and other things in the memory card are not affected, only the pictures and videos are getting corrupted.

Apr 4, 2010Does Nokia 5230 have video calling option? Before I bought it, the store told me that it's one pf those phones who doesn't have a secondary camera, but it does have video calling. Is that possible and is that the case with this phone?It's actually one of the reasons that I bought it, so I'm kind of disappointed I can't find a way to use it.
Video Call Time up to 3.0 hours.so I'd expect it does have it.
Is it important that I bought it here in Slovenia?

Mar 5, 2010I want to convert a few video clips to play back on my 5230 at the highest possible quality settings. Which container/bitrate/frame rate/aspect ratio would give those results? I know the resolution of the phone is 640x360 but any clips at that resolution are unable to play. I'm experimenting with combinations at the minute but it would be a lot quicker if I could just get a definite answer.Official playback specs are 640x360/??/30fps/?? but no mention of ideal bitrate, aspect ratio or container, ie MP4/3gp etc etc.

Jan 20, 2011OI purchased my storm 9500 version 4.7.0.167 about a year ago. Platform 4.0.0.205. The videos played back really well until I received a video from my friends LG handset via bluetooth. I don't know if that was the actual cause but that is when the problem started. Everytime I make a video it will either refuse to play with a message saying "error occured while playing media" or the video will play without sound then the sound will follow. Playback of the videos is shaky and unstable. Only mms videos play well but even they are starting to act up. What could b the problem. I have tried rebooting 2 no avail.

Jan 10, 2010Here I wish to post the problems I have been experiencing after I bought Nokia 5800, maybe, someone even has a magical solution for any of them.I own it since last year's November and I've spent more time re-inserting the battery and restarting it than actually using it, so I guess I sort of regret buying this smart piece of **bleep**.
So here's the list.. (any help, tips and fixes highly appreciated. Thank you!)
The video recorder often spoils the video with lags (which are file-written).An incoming call often cannot be picked up (nothing happens, it just rings. no key response)
Often the envelope symbol for new messages remains even if all messages read.The alarm clock has failed to wake me up 3 times because of the phone hanging up, and 2 more times just because of not ringing. (This is the worst part because I can't rely on this phone. What if I'm taking an important exam tomorrow? Hanging alarm clock is not an excuse, so I'm going back to the 20th century with a green-light alarm clock besides my bed, lol.)The screen rotation is so bad. I takes 5 seconds to turn the screen and often it gets confused whether to turn right or left.
If I install a new theme and set it as default (even if it's in Phone Memory), the chance of any of these bugs occuring multiplies twice.Often starting the menu or dialler pad causes the phone to hang up and nothing happens, can't even turn it off with the button. I have to reinsert the battery.The web browser often disappears without warning. A crash I guess. This **bleep** me off.The e-mail client causes problems when I set up a mailbox. What's the point of it if I can still use e-mail after uninstalling that Nokia E-mail afterwards. weird...Accessing Settings is risky, because it often hangs up and does nothing..
The media player once was unable to get rid of already deleted files. FoRtUnAtElY I found a fix (was i supposed to do that? No!).Once I couldn't access the installed application list, no matter what. Had to do a hard reset.And many more of these Sadly I knew what to expect when I was about to buy it, because I had experience with Symbian phones. In terms of reliability and satisfaction they haven't changed a bit since the first ones.

Jan 21, 2010Have a new Nokia 5230 the Maps application was working fine and now get this on the PC Ovi. Cannot find maps or voice guidance on your device. This is due to either of the following reasons:Your device does not support the Nokia Maps application. The maps and voice guidance files are corrupted Ok then went to help and deleted the files as advised.
If you see a notification in Nokia Ovi Suite Maps that your device's maps or voice guidance files may have been corrupted, switch the device's USB mode to the mass storage USB mode. Then, from your device's memory card, look for a folder named Cities and a file named qf, and delete them. After that, switch back to the PC Suite USB mode. Refer to the user guide of your device for more detailed information on selecting or changing the USB mode.

Apr 7, 2010i discovered an oddly-named folder in one of my music folders, and i attempted to delete it both on file manager and on my pc through 'mass storage' connectivity but could not manage to due to its corrupted state.
i also suspect that the corrupted folder/file is the reason to the failed transfer of some tracks from ovi player to my device, and sudden disapperance of some tracks. does anyone know how i may go about removing it in its entirety from my memory card?
IPhone :: Deleted Video From 4S From Windows Folder
Mar 13, 2012I plugged my iPhone into my computer, opened it as a camera and, from the iPhone "camera" folder on my computer, I copied all the photos and videos to a folder on my desktop. During the copy I accidentally unplugged my iPhone and got an error message (can't remember what it was). I plugged the iPhone back in, copied the rest of the photos & videos, made sure they were all in the folder on my desktop, then deleted them (again, from the iPhone "camera" folder on my computer).
All the photos and vids transferred fine except one video -- the file shows up but it's 0 KB and nothing plays when I try to open it. Only thing I can think of is the file was corrupted when I unplugged the phone during copy. I checked my computer's recycle bin, and none of the deleted photos or vids were transferred there (or if they were I can't see them).
Is there any way to retrieve this video file?

(yes, I'm fully aware of "reduce the resolution for smaller size, but it's already at lowest it lets me, even if I DON'T need a 720p video)
