My xoom is frozen and i have tried rebooting it but it does not work I tried switching it on but its still frozen on the dual core screen. Tried off button and volume button together but it switches off and goes directly back to the screen where it is frozen what can I do?
View 2 Repliespreviously, my browser had trouble loading pages from time to time: blue progress bar moves 2/3rds over but gets stuck today, the browser wont function normally anymore: can't select any new pages, and even the quick controls on the side is frozen! i rebooted, and it seems to work now, though the typing on this forum is sluggish in responce.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?

The shortcuts simply do not work. Short press, long press, nothing. I can't delete them either. If I go to the app drawer, the app for the frozen shortcut launches normally.

Some times it reboots when I'm not using the phone and other times it reboots after a while of good usage. Also every now and then after a reboot my phone will be frozen on the unlock screen and nothing fixes it except waiting for it to reboot again and start normally.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDroid RAZR - bought in November from Verizon store. Screen protectors and case are used; phone has experienced no trauma. While in Gmail today, the screen pixellated, became unresponsive, and now is inoperable. The screen appears as a mostly uniform field of slowly shifting color (pink, green) with a perhaps .75 inch bar of white on the bottom; see attached picture (it was hard to get a good shot because of the lighting). The phone still "works" internally - if you call it, it rings; the screen sleeps after an appropriate time and you can push the power button to bring it back; I hear the chime of emails and texts coming in. However, none of the menu/home/back buttons work, and touching the screen apparently does nothing. When I push the power button to "wake" the phone, the previously described white bar appears instantly, and the fuzzy colored remainder of the screen "develops" over about ten seconds.
I forced a reboot via the power button/volume trick, and heard the reboot process - but the same screen issue stayed throughout the reboot.I am at about 15% power; perhaps a complete shutdown forced by loss of battery power will eventually help. Plugging it in to a charger did not help.
Sometimes mine does not start chargeing - and I have made sure the battery is not fully charged. I unplug it, then plug it back in and it works.

We've been informed by email that our Xoom 4G upgrade will be available in September (2011), early Sept or late Sept who knows. We'll also have to send the Xoom back for the upgrade so the inconvenience factor to get our 4g is high.
Well for those of us [i.e. myself] who bought early in the hopes that Motorola would exceed our personal expectations and put the upgrade in our Xooms quickly after the initial Xoom release on Feb 24, 2011, we've been disappointed with this unreasonably long delay.
The bar of what we expect from Motorola is now set by the Galaxy tab 4G and the tab speeds are, well, phenomenal.[URL].. So, a personal observation, the upgrade had better be stellar and fast now that the Xoom will [maybe?] be the No. 2 4g tablet on the Verizon network. You can't win the first to 4g tablet market race but you sure better not blow the performance side of 4g.
There is a lot to like about the tablet, but some features I'm disappointed in. I was looking at the "supported devices" page for the Motocast USB software and it does not include this tablet. At the bottom of the page, it also says "MotoCast USB software works with most but not all of Motorola's Android devices." Is it possible to use it on the FE?

The issue has been posted in the forum, and the only answer I've gotten is that I have to send it in to get the update. Does that mean I will have to send it in every time and update is available? This afternoon I unplugged the charger and tried to turn the Xoom on. I get to the Red Circle M with DUAL CORE TECHNOLOGY on the screen but no further. I am unable to turn the Xoom off. If I press/hold the Power button and the Up volume key the unit shuts off and then turns back on.
