Is there now or ever going to be an update for the Xoom FE? I still have Android 3.1. Never had an update and have nearly had this thing a year. It lags in several areas and can't run many applications without crashing.

I have tried to uninstall the update that came through and the system automatically restored the factory version, but still it keeps crashing. I tried clearing the apps cache... no change.Is this a app bug?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am still running 3.1 on my Verizon 3G Xoom. In the last few weeks, I have noticed an increased incidence of the "Launcher Process" crashing while the unit it idle. I get the error message, and then the device reverts to the last app I was using even though I had exited to home.
It is a bit of a pain becuase it happens 4-5 times a day.
I'm used to working in a Windows based environment so I might not be using the proper terminology here. When I'm done working with an application on my XOOM it appears that the app is minimized but not closed. How can I do that?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can't remember where I saw the comment, but another Xoom user mentioned that his handwriting application(s) seemed to degrade in performance the longer he used them (per reboot, I believe). Until today, I thought I was imagining it, but the same thing seems to be happening to me. I was taking notes with Writepad and about one-half hour into the meeting I experienced significant lag between strokes of the stylus and appearance on the screen, and I needed to revert to the keyboard. It's happened with other handwriting applications as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue that has been plaguing me for quite some time now. It's seemed to get worse over time as well. The issue is when I click on something which would normally launch another application or window, the screen slightly dims and nothing happens. I tap the screen again and the brightness returns as if the window that was open is closed now. This IS NOT a screen brightness issue.for instance, I go into the "Videos" app and tap on a video shot from the xoom. The screen slightly darkens and then nothing happens. No video shows. Not even the player. Another example is in Gmail. I can click on a link to a website and the screen darkens and nothing happens. Tapping on the screen brings the original brightness back. Yet another example is from the gallery, I tap on the video I want to watch and it opens up the player. I tap play and the screen darkens up and nothing happens.I've tried a "hard" reset using volume up and power simultaneously to no avail. I have also deleted/removed all of my apps I have installed in the last month to month and a half

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?

View 8 Replies View Related1. I can't do a system update on the phone, I choose it and it says "Checking for available updates. Please wait..." for up to an hour.
2. Often when I try and dial people it doesnt activate a call and will just stay on the same screen. Following this it will either then dial about 10 seconds later after I've given up, or just crash.
3. It now has a tendency of just turning itself off during calls.
4. It often is unresponsive when I reply to texts. I'll use the keypad to text words, and it will be registering the keystrokes as it will be giving me predictive text suggestions, but not actually recording the words.
Okay, so I have a Droid Turbo, the ballistic nylon kind. And every time I try to send a message, it keeps saying "Unfortunately, messaging has stopped," and takes me back to the messaging screen where I can see all the messages I have. The text I tried to send then says its still sending and I have to try two or three times before it will work. I deleted nearly all of my apps, turned my phone off and on again, and deleted nearly all of my messages. It just now started doing this and is beyond frustrating. I do not know what to do. I couldn't find any other people with this same problem. What do I do?

The phone app would hang and force a close or indicate the camera App had failed to initialize. View 2 Replies View RelatedI switched from an iPhone to this Motorola Defy one week ago, I purchased a 16 gig memory card to match the memory of the iPhone, and loaded about 10 gigs of music onto it. This froze my phone upon reading the card. I downgraded to an 8 gig card and loaded around 4 gigs of music, which also froze the phone. This time, however I was able to start playing the music before eventually freezing. I deleted all except 1.5 gigs of the music and now it works fine; however this is a waste of my money purchasing a large memory card; or even switching from the iPhone in the first place.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIt's a Droid 2 Global, running Android 2.2, System version is 2.4.330.A956.Verizon.en.US. This is my second device, same problem. When using GPS for anything (and I mean anything) it throws errors into logcat, showing specifically:
DATE TIME [ERROR] AKMD2(1167) x = x-axis y = y-axis z = z-axis
I can attest that this does not happen on the Droid X, which is virtually the same hardware/software. Hard reset, wiping the phone, factory reset, et al, all of those are not the solution. AKMD2 is part of the Droid 2 Global operating system. It's how this device's version of Android communicates with the GPS/compass hardware, a "driver" if you will. Every D2G has AKMD2, and this is my 2nd one showing an error.
Sometimes mine does not start chargeing - and I have made sure the battery is not fully charged. I unplug it, then plug it back in and it works.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the Webtop travel adapter for use with my VZW Droid RAZR and 1080p TV. I have a probelm with the Status Bar atop the display. About once per second it will disappear and then a second later reappear. If a window is maximized, it will be resized back/forth. It is truly annoying. It is happening with multiple TV's so it's not an HDMI issue. During the time the Status Bar is visible, nothing within it is clickable. I am speculating that it is loading then crashing then loading again but never fully initalizes to where anything is clickable and the service is caught in a restart loop.
Fireforx and the mobile view both work just fine on their own so long as they don't cross into the status bar area and their windows will get bumped up/down as it appears/disappears. I had considered a lapdock but can't justify the money, especially if it doesn't work properly. I'll try using aLogcat to see if I can glean anything form it and ship some logs off to Moto support.
I have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
This post is for all of us who bought the Xoom because 4g speed was an important factor to us. We've been informed by email that our Xoom 4G upgrade will be available in September (2011), early Sept or late Sept who knows. We'll also have to send the Xoom back for the upgrade so the inconvenience factor to get our 4g is high.
Well for those of us [i.e. myself] who bought early in the hopes that Motorola would exceed our personal expectations and put the upgrade in our Xooms quickly after the initial Xoom release on Feb 24, 2011, we've been disappointed with this unreasonably long delay.
The bar of what we expect from Motorola is now set by the Galaxy tab 4G and the tab speeds are, well, phenomenal.[URL].. So, a personal observation, the upgrade had better be stellar and fast now that the Xoom will [maybe?] be the No. 2 4g tablet on the Verizon network. You can't win the first to 4g tablet market race but you sure better not blow the performance side of 4g.
